My computer or My Documents open correctly

It started a couple of days. I was surfing the web using Google Chrome, when suddenly he failed open again after closing it. The icon below in the taskbar appears normally as if the program was open, but the window just wasn't there, as if it were reduced to a minimum at all times. Any solution for this, I decided to start using Internet Explorer instead.

Now, here's the worst: when I tried to open My Documents via the icon on the desktop and on the taskbar, the same issue that happened as I had with Chrome. I have no idea how this could happen, and I don't find anything on the entire internet that solves my problem so I decided to post here.

This is what exactly happens when I try to open My Documents or my computer:

I click the icon, it lights up as if it is about to open, but then nothing happens.

When I hover over the icon on the taskbar, the micro tile appears correctly, and in it, I see the window such that it is supposed to be, but when I click on it, nothing happened.

I really hope that someone here would be able to help me, as it is very annoying having to launch another application such as Word just to access my files.

If you want me to post a screenshot to clarify my problem, I'd be happy to.

Thank you for reading.

It is possible that the program opens on the screen "the other", even if you do not have another monitor connected.

Fortunately, this can be easy to fix.  Just press and hold the button on your keyboard, and then press P, until the only 'Computer' option is selected.  This shortcut (+P, for "Spotlight" allows you to quickly connect a different screen).

A few days ago, I noticed my Documents open when running on my Windows Vista computer. I did a few Google searches hoping to find some sort of answer. I saw that XP had the same problem and noticed that the solution for XP was the same thing as Vista, I found the answer for my system.

Looks like you have the default printer configured to be Microsoft XPS Document Writer.  Go to control panel > printers and devices and see which printer is enabled in a green circle.  If this is the XPS Document writer as I suspect, you can right click on your printer and then select "Set as default printer" after you do this, or if you cannot do this, answer with the brand and model of your printer and we are able to help if you have a driver problem.

    Hello

Please check if this happens in a new profile. If the new profile is correct, you can later copy the necessary personal data of the old profile. Firefox stores your personal data and settings in a different location (folder profile) separated from its files/folder. A new profile would have default Firefox settings in Tools (Alt + T) > Options and topic: configand generally would also void of Extensions and themes (appearance) in Tools > modulesand their parameters. In addition, a new profile would have no previous stored site cache, cookies, data, preferences etc. (Tools > clear recent history).

  • Satellite Pro U200: MS Office Documents open slowly after installing BT stack

    Hello

As I installed the toshiba bluetooth stack (on my Satellite Pro U200) last week, MS Office documents are very slow to open when I choose them by double-clicking from windows Explorer. If I first start Office then use "Open" to open the document, the document opens very quickly.

The problem disappears as soon as I uninstall the Bluetooth stack.

This issue is documented on the nokia.com website and can apparently be solved using the instead microsoft bluetooth stack.

However, I don't seem to be able to install this driver on my laptop.

Is there a solution from Toshiba?

    See you soon,.

  • In Windows Media Player when I try to listen to a CD that I pulled it out of my computer, a new tab opens in Firefox "license cannot be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.

I use Windows Media Player 11 and I have Internet Explorer 8 is installed on XP Pro and when I try to listen to a CD that I pulled it out of my computer, a new tab opens in Firefox (my default browser), with the following message:

The license can not be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.
To download a license, you must install Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later.
To install the latest version of Internet Explorer, see the Windows Update page.

What do I need any type of license to, to listen to music, I ripped a CD I bought, and furthermore that the browser has to do with what ever automated procedure Microsoft Media Player must perform?

Suspecting that not having IE selected as the default browser might be interfering, I did so (something I'm not impressed about) and instead, was taken through to a Windows Media Technologies page http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/pdrm/en/welcome.asp?challenge=AAEAAZB*vUQ029QDmL5QfLzVnjGCf9din34fu*twoJQKPK0Agme7r3JqmhpZNJIHdVJ3JF20CQEtGSO6im53G7MUAjceYDRQUZXp2ghI5bYyB7kJjpvQoHFJNtNRWAvEXvv!fk7GbENwhn1K0gzMvWstLFBf3Esp9laOTsOCLqO7FqCfeYinJkeEGUevauivoM3NLAJOP4exrtgQX4zeRcujxi7W7AmLGDNRhh2qEgP1WmXh2PkzNZXwSn3QznsTK8!up58P10sX&DRMVer=1.4&embedded=false that provided some information about Licensing and Migrations and offered the opportunity to Download a License.  However, after selecting this button has encountered an error: 438 unknown error occurred when you store your license.

Where are the stored licenses and why this is happening with all the music I have on my computer?

I would appreciate an overview of this and especially a viable solution.  Thanks for your time.

There is no router on your computer. A router is a separate piece of hardware. If you actually have a hardware router, it comes with instructions and help files. The manufacturer's website would have items KB and a support office.

    Hi paul jabru,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft answers Forum.

Install the update in a clean boot State, try. This will eliminate any software conflict if that is what causes the update fails. You can also run a full scan with your antivirus. If necessary, you can use the free sanc provided by Microsoft Security Essentials.

You can also check the integrity of your system files by running a scan SFC and the consistency of your hard drive by running chkdsk. For the chkdsk command, follow these steps:

    1. Restart your computer and immediately press the F8 key until you reach the Advanced Startup Menu of Options.
    2. In the menu, select Safe mode with command prompt.
    3. At the command prompt, type chkdsk/r (there is a space between the k and /)

Before finishing the chkdsk command, as a precautionary measure, make sure you have a recent backup important data.

  • I got a fix, but the file does not open correctly. __

    I received this fix: http://hotfixv4.microsoft.com/Windows%20Vista/sp3/Fix291684/6000/free/395073_intl_i386_zip.exe

The self-extracting file does not open correctly.  Any thoughts on how to get this to work?

It's actually an executable file which probably opens a file or a zipped folder.

If the procedures described above do not (or if you prefer another alternative), download the free 7 - Zip at: http://www.7-zip.org/ and install it and use it to open the zip file.  This should probably fix the problem.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • I get this message - your computer seems to be configured correctly, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding)

    Hello

My computer is stuggling to access internet, I get this message - your computer seems to be configured correctly, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding).  All the other computers in my house are connected without difficulty.  Any suggestions?

    Thank you

I solved the problem.  When my router lost power, somehow the addresses changed if the IP address of the Dell Wireless computer is no longer fell in the pool of addresses maintained by the router.  When I've reconfigured by router and had released and renewed my IP on the Dell computer, everything started working again.

    Thanks for your help!
