• Documents folder redirected to the flash player and not able to change

  Hello

  I am running Vista and for some odd reason the documents folder is redirected to the USB flash drive. I changed the location of the default documents folder target. No luck.

  The strange thing is that I am not able to remove the flash drive as he continues to tell me it is in use and I am not able to open documents if the flash player is not inserted.

  Dear users,
  I did as I found for redirecting my documents to a different location on my 'C' drive and something strange happened (Windows 7 Home Premium)
  Went to Users\YourLoginName\Documents, properties, location, travel tab and chose him a folder target "Esteban" that I had created before.
  Now the weird stuff, the folder 'Esteban' was replaced by 'my documents' in the new location and is not visible.
  Basically, what makes Windows 7 is not only point to the new folder but replace it.
  This behavior, that I didn't see in WIN XP in which the record would remain even if my documents has done for her.
  I tried to go back and redo everything. I restored the default location of the folder my documents and now I noticed that the new folder which has been
  created before 'C' is always there and now she can not be cleared to return to zero.

  Method 1: expand the library folder and click Properties in the "My Documents" folder

  from here you can see the location tab and change its location.

  Method 2: click here

  Start-> type C:\Users\*Your username *-> right click on my documents and

  Go to the properties-> click on the location tab and make the necessary changes.

  If this fails also try manually using regedit in the following locations:

• Folder redirection for remote desktop Services

  I use an application remotely and when my end-users will register in their Documents folder they do not realize that it is on the remote host of the Session.  I would redirect all their files on their client computer, so when they record on their documents that they are on their local computer.  I don't want to use roaming profiles.  I looked everywhere for this answer and can't seem to find what I'm looking for.  My host is Server 2008 R2 and I have a mix of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 client computers.

• After upgrading from Vista created a new documents folder and now ignores the original

  Last week I updated my computer (which I believe has an update of the graphics card and some windows stuff) using Windows update and left while he was closing. I guess what he finished close, but as I was leaving for the weekend, I can't be 100% sure and this weekend my house loses power at least once.

  As for the problem, at windows startup today made first time setup that works normally when you connect to a user account for the first time. Applications of Sidebar by default loading, the default value of the user interface (that I don't use, so it was the first sign), and I found that on the opera opening, all my favorites and settings were gone.

  At the opening of my documents, I found that they were completely empty of content, including all hidden folders where all of my settings the user should be.

  Navigation around the computer, I find that this will C:\Users\USERNAME\ my documents are still intact, but are ignored, with all the shortcuts leading to my documents redirect me to the 'new' documents folder, which means that for all purposes useful all my user settings for all programs that store data in the documents have been reset.

  Maybe someone has an idea of what may have caused this?  Personally, it's one of the strangest bug I've ever seen in any version of windows, and I'm not sure how I should go to deal with it.

  Update:

  To check the path of the 'new' documents folder, it appears as C:\Users\TEMP

  This means at least all of my original documents folder has not been deleted, but I'm trying to support everything up to an external drive where vista decided to replace my old documents folder entirely.

• Folder Redirection GPO do not exist

  I'm trying to redirect my user profile to another drive, but after that I have open Group Policy, navigate to User Configuration and select administrative templates, Folder Redirection GPO do not exist, but I read in help in windows this GPO is located in this folder! Why isn't he here?

• How to change the location of the Document folder?

  I had the folder of Document mapped to a network drive. Recently, we decided to change the drive letter mapped to 'N' of 'P '. Now, when I right click on the documents folder, I do not see the location tab to redirect to a new mapped drive more. Any help is very appreciated.

• Windows Server 2012 R2, synchronization of offline files and Folder Redirection GPO. The synchronization failed. Access denied.

  I need a solution for the problem below.  I have seen that other people have experienced the same problem but I couldn't find a solution.

  I've set up a GPO that synchronizes user files to a network, for example, the My Documents folder location.  The client machine is running W7 Pro x 64.  Assume that the primary user of the machine is user1.

  Sync Center displays an error.  The error reads 'Documents. (\\Server\Profiles$\User2).  Access is denied. »

  Obviously, the problem here is that despite being connected as long as User1 tries to synchronize the user folders to other profiles on the computer the folder redirection, whether they are connected or not.

  We never seen this before and if so has anyone ever managed to find a solution to this problem on a shared machine?

• Folder redirection with offline files folder

  I have the documents users and Favorites redirected using folder redirection GPO records. So, everyone has their data redirected to the server. With the always available offline function. Then my raid that crashed and this player become offline. after 24 hours everyone back their local copy of their records.

  Now, why was it around that time. The server used to host the files fell to 2-3 hours. Later, I had the server upward without the Raid.

  Also 2 users reported that they can see their files, but its greyed out with an x and cannot access it. Discovered they still had available disabled offline. Don't know how that happened.

  So now I'm going to add a new server with the same name and follow the direction to create the folder and share it according to

• Windows 7 Documents library Redirection on network share

  In Windows 7 Professional 32-bit RTM, how can redirect you the documents folder in the start menu on a sharing network for example. \\servername1\shared? You used to be able to do that on Windows Vista, but I can't add this part to the new document library. I was able to add the folder once I made available offline, but I don't want my files stored locally. Is there a way to delete the document library shortcut in the start menu and replace it with the old Documents shortcut found in Vista? Jimmy

  The Documents link points to your document library.

  Looks like you would do two things:
  (1) add a folder on a network drive to your document library, so that you can view your My Documents, Public Documents and \\servername1\shared in one place.
  -As you pointed out, you can make it available offline, so cache files locally and allowing them to be indexed. If you do not want them cached locally, you will need to have indexed them on the server as described above.
  (2) redirect the My Documents folder to a network location. Note that this will replace your local My Documents with a stored remotely. You will only be able to access your My Documents unless you make available offline. Changes that you make will synchronize the server whenever the connection is available.
  Note that Documents in the Start Menu link will always go to your document library, which can consist of sites the and remote.

• Manager of Persona and folder redirection

  I have a small question I want to use the persona Manager, but I have the folder redirection for all of our users.  We HAVE simply to redirect certain folders like desktop, etc.  The problem happens with view.  I have a lot of doctors who insist on the use of several desktop computers (persistent and non-persistent) to do their work on a daily basis.  They use persist so they have their OUTLOOK and when they wander into an exam room that they want to use their desktop NO-persist.  I'm sure I can do what I want with management of Persona, but the folder redirection type of obstruction which.  Is there a way for me to use both so that I can get all the docs to use only a single pool of computers on the view?  Can EMU help me somehow this issue?  Your comments and suggestions are welcome.  Thank you!

  It can all be done with non-persistent desktops.

  It is generally recommended to configure the folder redirection for desktop, downloads, documents, etc when you use persona... This keeps the amount of data replicated by persona to a minimum.  It goes the same for EMU.  Management of character has its own folder redirection settings strategy, which is what I use in my deployments.

  I use Persona configuration management to the top of the folder redirection. Office, Documents and bookmarks are copied to the location redirected when you first login. When the user connects again, persona does not load these elements in the redirected folders, but creates rather their local copies. It's strange.

  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  We have set up the Folder Redirection in our environment finally! It works for all except for users who are members of domain admins. This is a limitation of view Persona. In addition, who move document/records existing Persona to redirected folder was transparent without any downtime.

• Folder redirection folders and writable Volumes

  If we use the folder redirection via GPO for our desktop view and also deploy writable volumes, how can we be sure that writable volumes does not store the same file data which is already redirected? For example, if a user stored a 20 GB on the desktop file, and we have the folder redirection by storing this safe to say the home directory of the user, how can we ensure that accessible volumes in writing is not to store this 20 GB file too?

  We also use the folder redirection in our virtual machine as well as writable volumes.

  As a reference, Appvolumes does nothing different that would make a 'normal' Windows machine I mean, it's that writable volumes stores no information that is not written on their local drive.

  If you configure the folder redirection and files of succeeeds redirection of files stored on the homedrive because windows sees this directory as the location to store the information, it is not stored locally. However, if for the folder redirection for some reason fails and that the Office IS stored locally, information will be saved in the accessible volume writable.

  Because the folder redirection is performed at the opening session that it is already in place when the user connects so information will not be stored on the available volume in writing. We do this successfully with desktop, my documents (and subfolders) and downloads and it works like a charm.

  I'm pretty new in the realm of VMWare, my company recently did a full migration of our VDI of Citrix infrastructure to VMWare. Aerial, the migration went a lot and our company is very happy with the performance of VMWare on Citrix, but I have still a few kinks to work.

  The biggest problem of mine was folder redirection. For all our users to VDI no persistent, we redirect their Office Documents and Favorites on a network share. Generally this has always been done through Group Policy. Since the migration, I have see a lot of users when they log in their session in the morning the machines did not apply group policy and records have not been redirected. However non-persistent users, running a GPUpdate/force on the machine does little good because it requires a trunk that triggers the machine to redial again.

  If someone has encountered this problem, any help would be greatly appreciated!

  1 confirm that loop back processing is enabled if you apply the policy to the computer objects.

  2. I always parent VM on the destination OR before I compose.  (a few reboots to destination OR for good measure)

  3 AD related issues, broken off DC replication...

• Re-directed WinZip unable to view the contents of the My Documents folder

  We have ThinApped WinZip 14.0 Pro version. However when we try to use WinZip to compress files in my documents, he sees nothing in the My Documents folder, but there are files and folders in My Documents. We tried to use ThinApp 4.7 to ThinApp WinZip, however we still have the same question. Can someone contact me please on how we can solve this problem.

  I enclose the file pacakage.ini for your reference and a screenshot of which Document My empty using WinZip. In addition, we have redirected My Documents folder on a network share. Even the favorite folder did the same thing. The isolation on the personal record mode does not work. The same thing with all of our applications.

  However if we do not re - direct folders My Documents, then the virtual Winzip can see the content of My Documents. We would be very grateful if someone can get back to us as soon as possible to solve the problem. We tried the same thing with ThinApp 4.6.0 and 4.6.1, it works very well. The issue remains with ThinApp 4.6.2 and 4.7.

  I would like to know if anyone has need of more information.
