My games Xp works on Vista?
I'm an adult old & play on a site that is the largest area FPS TOURNAMENT for BF2... no one does use Vista because of all the probs and we have 1000 members from all over the world. We play at battles of 12 hours each weekend from noon until midnight. Why is
This best for my "security"? to use Vista. ? + 13 000 people went to EA for help & it does ' t work. 3000 tried the 'fix '.
We have MS employees who play with us & they use XP Pro.
This public net game still thousands a day, what always happens with a new OS - at least since I have here since
Win3.1... isn't life a beeyatch.
I used Windows Vista since Beta 2 full time, and I do a little play. Most 'probs' are with 3rd party software and can be bypassed.
Out of my PC games collection, dating back to the middle of the 1990s. I have not met one that can be designed to work with Windows Vista, of course, some require compatibility mode, and some require administrative rights.
The same thing has been said when Windows XP came out - which was much worse than Windows Vista on the launch for the players. 3dfx has only a few months before went bankrupt and so many players have been left without video drivers, GeForce 3 had just been released, but the pilots have not stabilize for a good year after their release. The system requirements for Windows XP was also a considerable jump upward from Windows 98 (which most of the players used at the time), the minimum of RAM for Windows XP was 4 times greater than an operating system that had been released a few years earlier.

Get inluded games to work in Vista Business.
I use Vista Business and I try to get the games to work which are included. On the Microsoft answers site, I found the following instructions; "The games are included in Business, but they are not installed by default.
"Go to control panel, programs, programs and features, and then click on" Turn Windows features on or off "and put a check mark in the box of games." I followed the instructions and when I got to the window where I had to check something, there was a field of empy with no radio button or whatever it be listed.
You can have a more serious problem. Maybe a file corrupted somehow. I suggest you contact Microsoft technical support. They have tools that can help diagnose the problem with your system as well as making recommendations to the software that may require updates, etc..

I can't get two games to work on Vista.
I can get the games loaded on the computer, but when I go to play it the screen comes up for a second then it turns off. 'Notification of optimal resolution' see a screen I clicked and who and disabled, it did not work so I allow it and it still does not work. Both games are the treasures lost Alexandria and Big Kahuna Reef.
Notification of optimal resolution generally tells you that you need to change your resolution to something else to play the game. For example, if the game is designed for 1076 x 768 resolution, and your use of your computer in 800 x 600, the game may not work. In general, he says that you must be in the resolution, and then you can adjust your resolution to suit.
You can change your resolution by clicking on START-> control PANEL-> PERSONALIZATION
Then click on display settings
You will then see a slider, which will allow you to increase or decrease your resolution. When you find the optimum resolution that is requested by the game, select it, and then try to restart your game.
Let me know if you have any other problems or if it works for you.

Box of Baldur Gate PC DVD/rom works on Vista?
I want to buy a PC DVD/Rom of 4-in-1 box of Baldur Gate on Amazon. The game tells the platform is Windows XP. I use Vista 32. I'm not really familiar with the game on pc. Will it work? Thank you.
Yes
I bought the same 4-in-1 Amazon box, installed and played in the series on Vista x 64.
So, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work for Vista 32.Have fun!

Zoo Tycoon 2 does not work on Vista 64 bit Ultimate
When I start the game it gives an error saying that I have 0 MB of RAM installed.
I also have a stub GPF.I tried to turn on DEP for all programs and added ZT.exe in exceptional cases.
I edit "MSCONFIG" to show only 2 GB of ram.The issue of ram 0 MB goes, but I still I get a stub of protection error when I start the game.
The thing is my old Zoo Tycoon 1 full collection works very well.
ZT1 was released around 2001-2002. Whereas ZT2 came out around 2006.
How can and more old-fashioned work fine but not the new version. I expect it to be the other way around.Someone at the helpdesk said MS the ZT2 game does not work on Vista 64 bit and I should install a virtual machine so that it can work in 32-bit.
Is really the only way? Help, please.Hi orbit17,
Thanks for posting on Microsoft Answers.
Try to turn on DEP for "Windows programs and services only" and then restart the computer and check with the game. Here is a link to a KB which deals with the minimum requirements of the system and the compatibility problems with Zoo Tycoon 2: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/889368
Please make sure that your computer meets the requirements for the game and that your computer is compatible
Also how much RAM do you have installed on the computer?
Did you add extra RAM since the purchase of the computer? You can also try to run the memory diagnostic tool by using the Windows Vista DVD.
I hope this helps.

Satellite M50: How to make the media buttons on the right works with Vista
Hello
I successfully upgraded to Vista a all parts have been recognized in the right way.
Now I am looking for a method to make the multimedia control buttons works with vista. You know a laptop that has the buttons too and for whom is the Vista drivers available?
Kind regards
Steffen SchreyerHello
Generally these additional buttons needs a Toshiba control utility which is responsible for the good condition of these key market.
Unfortunately, it does appear that an update of the BIOS and the driver of BT has been published for the Satellite M50 PSM53.But in other sections, you might find a value-added package for Vista.
This package includes a few additional applications.Maybe this works on an M50. Check the download page of several series of laptops on the pilot.
If this will not work, then you can do nothing ;(Good luck

Qosmio F30: Toshiba control buttons do not work on Vista 64 bit
Hello everyone
I have Windows Vista 64-bit installed on my Qosmio F30, but before operation buttons do not work.
I tried to use the 32-bit configuration of Vista drivers, but when I press it, I got the following error: "this function not taken in charge. So please can someone help me to overcome this problem.
THX
Hello
You cannot use these Toshiba control buttons (play, pause, etc.) because the necessary drivers are not installed.
You will need a compatible Vista value added package, but it seems that Toshiba page does not provide the 64-bit VAP but only the 32-bit version.
The problem is that the software for Vista 32 bit does not work on Vista 64 bit OS.In my opinion so there's nothing to do right now

Toshiba Tempro does not work with Vista 64 bit Ultimate
Why Toshiba Tempro don t works with windows vista 64 bit ultimate mey Satellite A300 - 1 l 4?
Any idea where I can find a solution?
Thank you very much
Hello
I m not very well why it doesn't work on Vista Ultimate, but to my knowledge, there are a few Vista Toshiba Utilities and tool that are not fully supported by Ultimate.
But why you use Tempro? This tool reports only if a new driver has been transferred on the Toshiba driver page.
OK, it's interesting to know that a new driver is available, but if your laptop runs without problem I wouldn't update or reinstall anything s!
There is a proverb which says: never change a running system.Welcome them

Satellite R20: Can it work under Vista tablet features?
If you install Vista on the Tablet R20 - you get the feature to write on the screen?
Hello
Well, I m not a R20 owner and have not installed Vista but it seems that the necessary drivers are available and the features of the tablet should work with Vista.
On the page of the Toshiba Vista driver I found Satellite R20 (PSR20) and the Package of Extension of Tablet PC to Vista.
The TOSHIBA Tablet PC Extension package installs a range of important public services.TOSHIBA Rotation utility: Set the default screen orientation desired use of the system during the transition from the PC to Tablet mode, or vice versa.
TOSHIBA Tablet PC buttons driver: You can dedicate the buttons on the tablet to perform common tasks so that you can easily use your tablet PC away from your workstation. For example, you can dedicate a button to open a program or to change the orientation of your screen.
TOSHIBA accelerometer utilities: The TOSHIBA accelerometer utilities are a set of material utilities that work with the integrated motion sensors you machine. With the accelerometer, your machine will be able to detect how you're holding it at one point. You can set the machine to perform a specific function when the device is tilted quickly left or right, either at the front or back.
You can also take control of the cursor in some applications and move by leaning the PC in a cert.Well, I m not a R20 owner and have not installed Vista but it seems that the necessary drivers are available and the features of the tablet should work with Vista.

Nobody knows when it's released software / or ways to get the Dynadock to work with Vista?Hi Stuart
I put t know how it works in the United States, but here in Europe, according to the specification Dynadock, it only works with Windows XP SP2 home edition. I don't think someone can give you info on support for Vista especially here in the user forum.
