my habit of working cd/dvd drive it says missing something about code 39 was working 3 days ago

When I go to Device Manager it says windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. the driver may be corrupted or missing. [code 39]

Try following the steps under "Windows 7 or Windows Vista" or "Windows XP", depending on your operating system, in the following of the MS KB article:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/982116

These measures, to remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters, values if they exist, in the registry key named can help.

Create a System Restore Point beforehand and restart the computer later.

  • The CD/DVD drive malfunction: one missing, the other does not work

My HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop running Vista, came with a CD/DVD drive that appeared as a reader of CD (e) and (f) HD DVD player, with the hard drive and windows repair partition C: and D:.  There, the E: drive seemed to have disappeared, and it is the reader who would access it when I put a CD to read from.  The HD player never worked to this end and of course now that I only have the "F:" drive, and it tells me to insert a disc, despite the fact that there is a disc in there.  And I have no idea of what I did.

I right click on the HD drive properties and go to the Hardware tab.  WDC (Buncha numbers) ATA device is listed as type of hard drives, and UTIHAX (even numbers) SCSI CdRom Device is listed as a DVD/CD-ROM drives drive (Yes, with the ').  Both work properly, according to the properties of the device.

I tried to disable and re-enable the it.  I tried to uninstall and allow the pilot to resettle.  Nothing doin ' sofar, so I was wondering if any of you have any other ideas I could try.

I'd love to hear them!  Let me know what you need.

  • Windows 8 doesn't recognize DVD drive on Satellite P775 program-112 - code 19

    I have a Satellite P775 program-112 that was previously under Windows 7.
This weekend I have upgraded to Windows 8 Pro RTM.

Following the upgrade, the DVD drive is no longer recognized.

In Device Manager the drive "POLE * one BD - MLT UJ240EF" is a warning symbol, and the status of the device in the properties is "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) ».

I tried everything I found on the web without success:
    -Reinstall the driver (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/library/cc772156)
-Find and remove UpperFilters / LowerFilters values in the registry (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060): in my case, they were not present

I also tried to plug a player of DVD USB of my laptop - it failed with the same status of the device in Device Manager. This suggests the problem is not specific to my hardware DVD.

    Any suggestions welcome!

    Thank you

Don't have no real experience with Win 8 but from my point of view, it's a Windows system problem that also appears on an another old Windows systems.

The ODD driver is part of the Windows system (any Windows) so you would not be able to download and install a separate driver.
I had a similar problem with my old Win Vista laptop.
Could solve this problem by removing the CD/DVD drive in Device Manager
I restarted the laptop and the system could install the STRANGE once again without any yellow exclamation point

    Hello

DVD unit has not recognized by the operating system.
When I open my computer the only display unit is C, there is no unit D.

Then I go to the Device Manager to check it out, and I noticed that the DVD unit has problems, then I open the properties, and the error message is:

Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing.

First I thought it was a hardware problem, but I introduced the disc of windows vista at startup and the unit read it very well. Then I choose driver update of Device Manager and update told me that the best driver is already installed for the device.

I tried to replace the files .sys and .info for CD-ROMs, but nothing is happening.
What is happening, please help, is urgent I need to use my dvd device.

The wireless switch is on the front on the right side in the opposite of the power switch position.

Windows Dvd installers are much more likely to become corrupt than ISO files or installers of USB. They are not indestructible and are best kept in a DVD box for safekeping.  All it takes is a simple scratch on the label of the DVD side and toast.

Disc info you provided are identified as a Western Digital Scorpio Black SATA2 320 GB hard drive. What is the product number and the name of the product of your mini?

  • Being not recognized in dimension 8400 DVD drive

    Hi all

I have a problem with my DVD drive in my dimension 8400 (about 3 years)

I can open the DVD player and insert DVD/CD but they are not recognized,

My computer is not present DVD player, there is no CD/DVD players present also in the management of devices.

I think the DVD player I have is the Philips DVD 8601 HH 16 x DVD + RW,

I had a similar problem about 1 year ago, but that has been fixed by updating the firmware/drivers. (although the DVD player doesn't "disappear" from my computer, it comes to refuse to play the disc at the time)

Im not a computer newbie, so I tried several things to try to make it work:

http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.ID=dim_cdrom&message.ID=138730&query.ID=270189#M138730 I did steps 1-3 and 5, and nothing has worked.

Someone at - recommended step 4 too? Question about step 4: you have to clear the CMOS chip memory AND reset the default settings of the BIOS Setup? It was not clear from the guide on this forum.

I tried to download the updates of the Firmware, but when I tried to update it says "Device not found", logic, because the device is not - where on my computer.

    That's my problem.

Thank you very much if anyone can help me

Perhaps the DVD player is just broken and I need to get a new one, but the fact that I can open and close the lid and the light Burns gives me hope that its stil alive: P
