My HP Pavilion a350n does not either of my DVD players or CD.

It's a weird thing! The 1 Apr 09 I bought two new combo CD/DVD internal LITE-ON writers that support DVD + r DL/DVD + / DVD + RW / DVD - RW / DVD-RAM / CD - R / CD - RW writing.

The DVD write speed was an ardent 22 X! This is what appealed to me. This along with the fact that I could copy from one disk to the other DVDs!

I'm no dummy when it comes to computers. I've built a lot!

My problem is that under "MY COMPUTER" and "WINDOWS EXPLORER" readers are not displayed. BUT they appear in the BIOS and the splash screen.

Nothing happens when a disc of both types is placed in the drive! I even tried to switch back to the original disks, it was bad originally, and still, it does not solve the problem. I ran "REGISTRY MECHANIC" and it does nothing!

I've heard of an April fool virus but I use the latest version of AVG anti-virus and my system is clean.

I have close to 200 gigs of info on this machine and reloading is not something that I am crazy to do!

Is there anyone out there with any suggestions?

Harold

Check the Device Manager. I think you are getting a code 39 problem of registry filter driver.

Check the link below on how to remove the filters of upper/lower case for the cd/dvd drive and then uninstall the driver from Device Manager and then restart the computer, and should work unless the drive itself has mechanical problems.

Looks like the drive will need to be replaced. Reason to be after you restored and still the same problem of reading is then laser most likely has it reache use life. Reader of OD aren't so expensive that it just make sure yours is Sata connections and must match any player you just have to remove your plate and put it on the new drive and that will resemble nothing has changed.

  • Pavilion mouse does not

Hi - I have a Pavillion DV5-1235DX, and the mouse suddenly stopped working.  I tried a flash drive in the 2 USB ports on the right side of the unit when the mouse is connected and the drive is not recognized in both.  The flash player works in port on the left side of the device, but the mouse is not recognized it.  I tried a new mouse, and it does not, either.  The touchpad works very well.  Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

    Marlene,

If you have not already done so, try:

    • Put new batteries in the mouse - if they are weak at all, the mouse can suddenly disconnect and confuse the computer.
    • Perform the Hard Reset .  Start the computer and connect

Hard Reset is a reset of the driver; This isn't Windows 8 resetting that installs the operating system.  The procedure to hard reset does not erase your files or it destroys your Windows installation somehow.

Why a power reset works to solve some problems:

Hard Reset erases the pilot instructions that generally persist to boot-to-boot.  The computer is forced to go to read all the 'cool' instructions of drivers and software stored on the operating system drive.  The clearing and forcing action see drivers on the disk and software can solve some problems.

Why a power reset does not work:

If the problem is more than a simple tangle, if 'good job' located in the operating system is not good enough - in other words, you need an update, a new driver, or there is a problem that can not be "unraveled", then reset does not work.

If there is an underlying hardware problem power reset will not work.

You have a laptop. So try the right button on your touchpad. It work?
If so, the only remaining possibilities are:
    1. bad mouse. Get a new one.
    2. defective UBS port. Plug the mouse into a different port. See if the right click of the mouse works this time.

I can say, on the one hand, if your system is an AMD-based system in the failures of graphic chipset Nvidia/AMD feared so your Board is most likely won't want to work more. I have a lightscribe, CD/DVD player, and I started having problems about a month ago... I tried to burn a lightsribe CD and my computer told me that I didn't have a CD Lightscribe drive (I!)... then when I just tried to burn the music on the CD, he didn't do it either... Finally a week ago, I tried to play a movie on my laptop, and that does not work either.

    Hey all,.

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite 1900 (PS192E) and place an old 20 GB HDD from an old laptop.

When I boot, the screen is in VGA 16 color mode, it recognizes the DVD player, but does not recognize the CD/DVD when inserted. I tried to install and run the utility "driver robot" Toshibas, but the display is such that I see all of the screen to start the search.

If there is someone out there who could give me some advice, I would be extremely grateful.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

OK, you have installed the disk HARD of another laptop but too format the HARD drive? I mean if the HARD drive performed from another laptop, you need to reinstall Windows because now you have other hardware installed.
What version of Windows is it?

If you want to install a driver for the graphics card go into Device Manager and select Update driver.

If this is not the case, try to remove the drive physically from the laptop. Restart the laptop without the drive. The BIOS and Windows shouldn't t recognizes the drive.
Then stops again, put the drive in the notebook and the startup of the device.
The laptop should recognize the drive and must indicate the firmware again.

  • Satellite A100: Does not start a recovery DVDs

    Hi guys.
    First timer here.
I have read some of the Q & A on reboot problems the A100 since the recovery DVDs.
It seems I have the same problems as keith.

I want to start all over again the OS and my laptop does not start from the DVD.
Tried the standard f12 boot from cd option. tried her "hold C on the boot option.
Both options end with no joy.

The screen that says "loading ramdisk image", loads the machine breaks, asks me to wait, then every time the same thing.
The screen goes black, flashes very quickly and white and then loads from the hard disk as normal.

Now try to hold my frustration and do something radical.
I know that in the Q & A previous, the subject is considered as replied...
    other options?

My following thoughts are to delete/uninstall almost every thing and try and force the thing to boot from the DVD.
have also copied the dvd and tried to boot from the copy, always with no joy.

    Are there any other suggestions?

Is it possible to put a partition in the existing drive and start the recovery dvd in there, then delete the junk of the original section of the drive, and then delete the partition?

is it possible to close all essential processes and format the HARD drive?

is it possible to reset the HARD drive somehow?

    see you soon,
    Martin

    Hello Martin

To be honest, it's pretty strange question. There is one thing I am interesting for:
Is - this first time, you try to use a recovery media for the installation of the OS?

If possible, try to get the Microsoft CD/DVD facilities to see if the same thing will happen.

In any case, I will try to give you answers to your questions.
    > Is it possible to put a partition in the existing drive and to start the recovery dvd in there, then delete the junk of the original section of the drive, and then delete the partition?
It will not work. On the recovery of the media it is recovery image and this image must be installed correctly. You cannot "recover DVD in there. Not question

    > is it possible to close all essential processes and format the HARD drive?
I would like to know what you understand under the 'essential processes?

    > Is it possible to reset the HARD drive somehow?
You can't do this somehow. If you want to 'reset' HARD drive, you must delete the existing partition or delete any OS installation. After having done that, you need to install new OS. All this will be done at the beginning of the recovery procedure.

I really don't understand what's wrong there. Please answer to my first question, and we will continue this discussion. ;)

  • Lenovo Z585 does not start on a DVD - jump directly to Windows

Hello, I just got a new IdeaPad Z585 from newegg, and I can't figure out how to boot from a disk in the drawer of the DVD.

I tried to open the BIOS and change the boot order, as well as simply go directly to the start menu. I tried with UEFI both active and disabled, as well as Secure Boot both enabled and disabled. No matter what I try, it does not start in any DVD.

I try to install Linux and tried different discs and distributions of this. When no even reached GRUB, I tried a Windows 7 installation disc, and even that is ignored.

    What should I do?

    Hello
The secureboot and uefi must be handicapped simaltaneously. You can try if you haven't.
Also, could you try pressing the novo button to power your laptop. The novo button is the button of reocovery key a small next to the power button. Has then access Startup menu see if it helps.
