Once I got home, I immediately noticed a small circular crack on the black area of the screen, lost a little piece of glass of the screen. I did not bang the iMac against anything like that. People are very careful with their stuff when something that is expensive. I don't want to blame one who has mounted the display or one of carry out of the storage room, anyway I don't know how this crack got there. In a way, it's really my fault for not having a look attentive all in store. Personally, I don't mind using this crack, but it's embarrassing because there is a little thought. Any suggestion on what I can do?

  My iMac screen is absolutely randomly fade to black (sometimes with the seeds), but the system continues to work very well. It happens even in recovery mode (command-R to chimes sound), but worse than usual. After about 10 to 20 seconds in the mode screens recovery becomes black.

  P.S. screen goes black when Windows is running under Bootcamp so.

  What version of Windows have installed you on the laptop?

  When did you notice this problem? If this is a recent problem, follow the steps in this document to restore your computer to an earlier point.

  Follow these steps in this document to start your computer in Mode safe. Safe mode that will start the Basic programs and drivers required to start Windows. If the screen is back to normal in safe mode, it lets us know that the issue is not the base drivers. We can then pass from the computer in a clean boot State. This will let us know if a software conflict is causing the problem.

  If none of these measures, you can contact Toshiba.

  It sounds like a problem with your inverter FL. This is the device that provides lighting for your LCD screen. The fact that you can use an external monitor shows that there is not a problem with your graphics card.

  Fortunateky the FL inverter is not an expensive component and is quite easy to change then I suggest that you only contact your closest partner of Serviec allowed to check your laptop.

  CarbonCopyClone on an external drive in an external enclosure.  Upgrade than SL ElCapitan leaving the intact internal SL.  Start externally using the option key pressed at the start, do what you need with the iPhone, then stop and do what ever you need to again with SL disc.
