What is an iPod touch?   IPod touch does not appear as a USB storage directly on your computer.  An iPod nano can appear there.  The current nano iPod looks like this

Also, is your computer running iTunes on a Mac or Windows PC?  If Windows, which free?

  • IPod nano not recognized by iTunes - 10 Windows

My new iPod Nano (7th generation) is not recognized by iTunes (version 12.3.2).  Windows 10 is pleased to recognize the Nano as a USB and I can copy files to the Nano using Windows Explorer.

When I open iTunes and connect the Nano screen Nano said that it is connected, windows 10 tells me that it is connected, but iTunes displays the message "an iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly.  Please disconnect and reconnect the IPod and try again. "

Tonight, I uninstalled iTunes, followed the instructions on the Apple support site to stop and restart the "Apple Mobile Device Service".  I also uninstalled the windows drivers, the computer uses and then reinstall the drivers, but the only ones that appear are the original windows ones.

In Device Manager, the iPod is listed in 3 places:

Hard drives - Apple iPod USB Device

    Mobile devices - IPOD

Apple Mobile Device USB Driver - universal series Bus controllers

Serial - USB Mass Storage Device Bus controllers

When I click on Player update "mobile devices - iPod" it tells me that "the driver software is up-to-date Volume filesystem driver. WPD

  • 5 Gen iPod will not sync with itunes 12 in 10.11.2

    Hello

I had a timing problem, where the my iPod Gen 5 has not been recognized under Yosemite anymore. Upgrade to El Capitan - all worked ok until the first OS / X update for 10.11. Now, iTunes 12.3.1.23 as the iPod is not recognized.

I've tried resets and hard disk mode - nothing has worked.

To work around this situation, I ended up installing iTunes on a virtual 10 Windows on the same Mac computer. 10 Windows VM detects the iPod correctly and I am able to sync after that I added all the music and books audio to iTunes for Windows library.

But, I want to turn on my Mac and have the Mac with iTunes for Mac OS sync my iPod. He worked for many years without problems.

So, I want to come back under Mac OS, re-formatting, and sync as usual.

Anyone have any idea why the rMAc fo iTunes is not recognizing iPod, iTunes for Windows works?

iPod classic, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), iPod Gen 5

    Information module,

the system log shows that these entries:

10.12.15 15:32:38, 701 SystemUIServer [812]: try to set a time of iPods, if I don't have any client user.

10.12.15 15:32:41, SystemUIServer 605 [812]: try to set a time of iPods, if I don't have any client user.

Bus USB recognizes the iPod correctly and Parallels virtual machine also. The instance of iTunes in the Windows virtual machine recognizes everything is fine.

Just iTunes 12.3.1.23 under native Mac OS / X 10.11.2 is not!

  • IPod not connecting to iTunes

My IPod is not connecting to iTunes... I have tried everything uninstalled reinstalled several times, reset my ipod to factory settings, the lot and ITunes still does not recognize my Ipod... In also spent more than three hours on thephone to the Apple Support and no further... can someone help me with this problem?

Looks like you have to try to put the iPod in recovery mode. If you can't do that, then the more likely iPod must be repaired.

If you are unable to update or restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - Apple supports

Read all the steps before you start make sure that you understand them easily. You can also try to connect to another computer with iTunes.

It may be better for you to take it to an Apple Store. They can connect on one of their computers and try recovery mode to ensure that nothing else is causing the problem.

    Good luck

  • IPod won't sync to Itunes

For some reason, my ipod touch 5th used to synchronize with itunes after these new updates, I guess, since the last time that I have synced my ipod was on March 18. I tried using different usb cords and uninstall and reinstall itunes. Actually on my pc, my ipod shows that it is connected to the laptop, but it is not pop up in itunes, even after execution of the itunes diagnostic on the player to sync. When I connect my ipod to my computer the only indicator that I receive on the ipod is a message that asks if I want to leave my access to the computer for pictures on my ipod. I'm really not restore my ipod because I over 12 GB of music and it takes long ridiculously to synchronize and also because if this doesn't work, I'll be left with no music, since my ipod is not sync with itunes. Someone knows how to help or facing similar problems?
