    What is an iPod touch?   IPod touch does not appear as a USB storage directly on your computer.  An iPod nano can appear there.  The current nano iPod looks like this

    Also, is your computer running iTunes on a Mac or Windows PC?  If Windows, which free?

    I guess you mean that the sync button in iTunes, not on the iPad, will not work. If you are sure you have the latest version of iTunes and iOS (your profile shows 8.1) try quitting iTunes on the computer, restart the computer and force restart your iPad

    No data is lost during this procedure. Hold on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

    If you have "tried all methods in the world', then, by definition, nothing to try.

    Clearly, it would be much more useful if you told us exactly what you try.

    Similarly, instead of saying "updating the software on the computer and iPad", you should indicate the version numbers.  For example, if you have a Mac and running an older version of OS X, or a PC with an older version of Windows, you can optionally synchronize your iPad because you need a recent version of iTunes which does not work on those older systems.

    My password has changed on my iPad so I plugged it to my iTunes (Windows) and it synchronized/backed up without problem.  I then tried to guess the password until it has adjusted.  I tried to restore from iTunes, but iTunes says "the iPad xxxx cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of itunes. "  When I check the updates, it says I have the latest version.

    Anyone know what I need to do to restore my iPad?

    The most recent (and probably final) version of iTunes which takes supports Windows XP 32-bit and Windows Vista 32/64 was issued in September 2015. It includes support for iOS 9, although not Apple music. The Apple software update, it will not necessarily be looking for you and may ask you to update when you are not.

  • iPad apps not in my iTunes screen

    When I sync my iPhone and iPad to my desktop iTunes my apps do not appear for my device.  I have about 80 apps on my phone, but only about 8 apps show up to install or remove.  I can remove the apps on my phone, but in the past, I saw a list of all the applications that I can install or remove.  I also try to find out how much memory an application uses, but cannot figure out how to get this info.

    The apps show in this list if you have downloaded My Apps to iTunes from the computer library section. If your iPad or your iPhone isn't on iOS 9 + and then file > devices > transfer purchases should copy him - or you can redownload them (if they are still in the store) directly on iTunes from your computer through the purchase section (click on your name / icon to the top right of iTunes then click purchased on the popup).

    My iPad suddenly not charge or sync. I only get the empty red symbol and or the Apple logo when I unplug and re - connect the charger cable. It will not turn on. An internal error has occurred"and"an unknown error occurred (-50). My iPad does not appear as a device on iTunes. I tried to do a reset by pressing the sleep/power button & the big button on the screen, but nothing happens.

    Have you tried the steps outlined in the article below? If so, I would recommend taking the iPad at the Apple Store for the assessment.

    Turn off or get rid of Norton.   I really don't see why you need it.

    Very frustrated right now. Given that Apple's Support is not in contact with return despite requests, the story will go here. I have Windows 10, iPhone 6 + and iPad Air 2. Last weekend I was invited to and did pass to iTunes 12.5.1.21. Plugged my iPhone 6 +. Not recognized by iTunes; 'sync' gray. Tried the same thing with my iPad 2 Air. Same result. I get no error message.  Here are my troubleshooting - what I'm missing, Apple?

    1. Lightning card Checked, works fine with other devices.
    2. Rebooted PC.
    3. Rebooted IPhone.
    4. Restarted iPad Air 2.
    5. I've tried different start up sequences (start iTunes connect manually; first)
    6. Went to 'Upgrade device via Device Manager' - these devices are working properly.
    7. Updated my iPhone and iPad 2 air for iOS 10 successfully.
    8. Apple email support; 48 hours later they gave me another email address for contact.
    9. Chose the Contact Apple Support via phone option - screen "we will call you - your phone will ring at any time.  Still waiting for the phone to ring.
    10. From Discussions on Apple's site with troubleshooting tips, have tried all suggestions with no luck - If iTunes does not recognize your iPhone, iPad or iPod - Apple Support.
    11. I even opened and closed the blinds completely throughout my house to see if that would help.  Go figure.
    12. The last resort on them, says "Contact Apple support" - see #9 above.  Twice.

    Apple-Support - What should I do at this point?  I'm all ears, and Android is looking better and better during my next upgrade.

    Happy to report that I finally found a position that has fixed this. Someone has to give Community contributor turingtest2 a price, they had an incredible post in communities that have corrected my problem.  See below for the excellent suggestions.

    I'm surprised to hear that for an iPad 2 that the issue had apparently been set for 2 s. Please see this for more details as I know them. Maybe the servers at your site have not been updated yet for the new version of the iPad 2.  ???

    Apple released the update iOS 9.3 for older devices (air of iPad and previous iPhone, 5 s and previous) due to problems with Activation. See the following for details and possible solutions.
