My laptop HP Windows 8 boot

I've had this laptop for one is not even a year now. I have a laptop HP G7-2275dx Windows 8. One day he had installed updates and close. When I tried to start upward, it didn't start. When I press the power button, the WiFi light flashes. When the laptop is hanging on the wall, the light, which indicates that he is in charge turns on and stays on. I think it is a hardware problem, but you cannot work on laptop due to the compact how it is and how the case is put in place. Is there a solution to this?

Hi Damion,

Thanks for the reply.

I suggest you to return the item and check if it helps.

  • Toshiba C855D laptop Windows 8 boot after automatic update failure

My daughter bought a Toshiba C855D laptop there are a little over 2 weeks.  I helped create the DVD backup.  Unfortunately she forgot to take them with her when she returned to her job in another State.  Update from the laptop last night and restart it displays: "failed to start: a proper digital signature not found.» Select one of the files on the boot device has been rejected by the Secure Boot feature. "Her appeal until the recovery discs arrive by mail?

I also work on a laptop with windows 8.  After a long conversation, that's what happened.  They bought for Christmas and installed Quicken and have been broadcast since.  Last week an update had completed and was stopped.  The owner stop and a few days later he turned on and with a few minutes of being on a Car Parts web site (NAPA), the locked system restarted with the same problem as icdesigner above.  I read a lot of tech ideas and that your giving, that's all they say.  Although it does not work for this system.  With security on there is a black screan with and error failed to start that stays on for about a minute then shut down the system.  With the security it starts with a blue screen that stays on with RCOVERY at the top.  The digital signature for this file could not be verified. 0xc0000428 error code.  Then he goes on to say to use the disc that came with the system to fix it. Well no disk came with it, but I was able to join the program of recovery once to restore the system to the factory.  Still getting error and can't now to the recovery program.  So is it possible that one of the updates is corrupt and rewrite the boot sector on hard drive?  I say this because when you do a complete reinstall as I did wipes everything except the boot sector.  You have all the other fixes that will work, remember that I can't go beyond these screans.  Mobile society has already said the owner that it will cost more than $300 to send it in, and it's almost what they paid.

  • Windows 7 Boot question

I'm really stuck and hope someone is able to help me. I am not a COMPUTER expert, so please be patient.

I'm helping a friend with his HP notebook which they got the upgrade to windows 7. (Part of a HP agreement were going here in New Zealand). I have it loaded to the top and things went well.

When I restart or start the laptop now, it comes up with a screen that says:

Choose an operating system to start, or press TAB to select the tool:

    It gives me 2 options:

    Installation of Windows

    Windows 7

If I let it run windows setup it just flows in a loop and keeps restarting itself. (I tried to boot with the CD and the CD on but same result).

If I tab down and select Windows 7 it starts very well and windows works.

I managed to activate windows with the etc button so it's all sorted out on that side.

I also ran the memory tool (one of the options on the home screen), and she came back without error.

Can someone please help me to get the laptop to boot in Windows 7 and get rid of this first screen automatically.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    DAZ

You are in a situation of dual boot with Boot Manager. Usually Boot Manager is used to give you a way to get back in case something goes wrong during installation.  In your case, the installation program is not cleaned after installation.

You must assign the default value of the Windows 7 boot partition.  I use EASYBCD (it's free) to manage the default starting value.  Disk management Windows 7 can also be used.

  • Computer laptop G62 won't boot disk boot

Need to recover the computer.  I ordered a HP boot disk.  The drive arrived and my laptop G62 reserve not boot disk.  I checked the bios and it is configured to boot from the CD.  I also started in safe mode and cannot locate an autorun exe when I start Solution Explorer.

Basically, my computer has been hijacked by a nasty virus that has completely taken over my PC.  If I start I see is an empty office and a start menu, can't even get a run prompt.  The virus disguised as anti-virus software and trying to make me pay for their software suite $ 90 to "fix" the problem.

If I hit F11 at startup upward, recovery stops and I get a blank screen forever.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi, Courtney:

Try it free Kaspersky rescue CD.

This disc will get rid of viruses like those and the good thing is that you don't need to be on Windows to run it.

It is a bootable CD (what you do from the file transfer) and by using the GUI (GUI), you can scan your PC for viruses and remove them.

    Link and instructions below:

    http://support.Kaspersky.com/viruses/RescueDisk

Rather than modify the boot order, just start the notebook and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, press the F9 key to launch the start time menu.  Select the DVD-Rom drive, and then press the Enter key.

You should then see a message on your screen that says basically: 'try to boot from DVD... ". Press any key to boot from the DVD... »

Press a button and the DVD or the CD should start up.

  • How can I copy a full hard drive from Windows 7 Professional to a new laptop with Windows 7 pre-installed home?

I have a laptop with Windows 7 Professional older and want to keep my programs and files intact and transfer to a new laptop, with Windows 7 Home, pre-installed.

First try the image restore option. If that does not work, use your professional Windows 7 disc and boot from it, delete all partitions, then attempt to restore image.

Don't forget: save your Home Premium installation before doing any of this.

  • Errors and warnings in Event Viewer in the field of applications on a laptop running Windows 7.

I receive a number of warning and an error message in the event viewer in the field of applications on a laptop running Windows 7.  Is there a way to fix this or fix another way?

Here are some notes on the event viewer reports that can help you. When you have a lot of mistakes, you need to focus on system errors and warnings, even if it's the applications that are giving you grief. Problems with the first sorting system can do the easier application problems. Note the time that the computer is started last and deal first with those at the beginning of the boot. Correct previous errors can be solved later.

    1. normally, when an error occurs on your computer looking in Event Viewer should be your starting point to find a solution. More related system errors are recorded and get an exact copy of the relevant report is important. Unfortunately, is not easy to understand reports and most of the users computer need help with their interpretation. I have to say later interpretation.

2 Event Viewer includes four major newspapers in Windows. These are application, security and system with Applications and Service logs as a source more details... For purposes of troubleshooting system is by far the most important.

    3. to access the system log, select Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, Event Viewer, in the list on the left of the window select Windows and the system logs. Place the cursor on the system, right click and select filter current log. Check the front of the error and click OK and see you only reports errors. Click the Date and time column header to sort. You may need to click a second time to see the last report above.

    4. a tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. Click the button copy on the general tab allows you to place a copy in the Clipboard and close Event Viewer. Now start your message and paste it into the body of the message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.

    5. He cautioned against three types of reports, information, and reports errors. In most situations, it is the error reports that offer the best information but sometimes WARNING reports provide useful clues.

    6. all reports have stamps date and hour and when troubleshooting, it is important to focus on the latest reports. Reports of studies from the point when the computer is started, and then check if a similar report appeared in the previous session. If errors do not repeat investigation as to why they happen is wasted effort.

    7. in the individual reports the most important information is the event ID and Source such as these help when looking for help on the internet. The description is just as important and copy the exact text to use as search criteria greatly helps achieve better results when using Google. Not paraphrase descriptions when other people asking for help.

    8. for Vista and Windows 7 Google is the best source of information. Search for selected text in the Description part of the report (not of the particular words of phrases) that "this exact word or phrase" Gets the best results. Focus on Social Technet and Microsoft Answers reports in the last 12 months. Look elsewhere if a response is difficult to find.

    I have a MBP 15 "mid 2015 16G with AMD R9 M370X i7.

I've been running bootcamp with Windows 10 installation for about a month now without any problems.  However, yesterday 10 Windows started and has been blocked in a black screen (before any screen logo or connection win) with the CPU works hard and hot.

    1. I tried to restart some time hold button / stop and start with the option key, key and then selecting the windows bootcamp partition but it drove the same black screen with CPU hot work in the background.

    2. I can always start OSX fine during this period.

    3. I tried to leave in the black screen for a good 10 minutes, but it does not change and the MBP gets really hot.

    4. I tried clearing NVRAM with Boot option + command + P + R

5 I can't in Windows 10 safe mode using F8 or FN + F8 after you select windows to boot manager (starting with the down option).  Am I missing something here?

I don't have a copy of Installer windows 10 with me right now unless someone can tell me how to create one under OSX.

I searched on the internet forum and apple, but have not found a solution that works for me.  Many speak of win10 black screen with cursor showing, but my question is just a black screen with no cursor.

Someone at - it other ideas besides reinstall Windows 10?

You have a black screen with or without power adapter, both? If 10 Windows does not start correctly three times, it should bring up the recovery console. Windows automatic updates are enabled? You have created/activated Windows system restore points?

We bought a new laptop to Windows 8. I used Windows Easy Transfer to transfer data from the old laptop to the new laptop. Now, my wife, saved bookmarks passwords and other custom settings do not appear on the new laptop.

I do not know if Windows Easy Transfer actually migrated my wife Firefox profile. Where is it stored on the new laptop?

How can I migrate manually the profile from the old computer to the new computer?

I don't know anything about Windows 8 but if you have Firefox installed and running there is a simple method to find your profile: let Firefox for you using the option of troubleshooting as explained in this article

I imagine that the profile of your wife should be in a similar situation to yours, but under a different username.

To migrate manually the profile overwrite just the default profile existing your wife in Windows 8 with the complete profile folder and files of XP. For more details on how to do and more general information please see:

  • El Capitan and Windows 10 Boot Camp Assistant

Hi, this is my first post so apologies if I've left out anything important. Let me know and I'll add the necessary details.

Fast, I have been using Windows for years and I wanted to get into Apple and finally last month made the leap. I have a brand new MacBook Pro with 16 GB of RAM El Capitan - 10.11.4 running. However, I am having a lot of problems with the creation and installation of 10 Windows using Boot Camp.

I had this work with Windows 10 times but made some fundamental mistakes. I resized the partition windows using a windows product so that I could add another partition. This seemed to work and I used it for a short time BUT when I tried to boot into El Capitan would not and that it would only boot Windows. After reading on what I see now that resize the windows from windows under Boot Camp partition is a no-no. lesson learned!

To actually do things once again, I removed the windows partitions using disk utility. (Again I see now that it is an another no-no that I'd
used Boot Camp Assistant to remove Windows!) Eventually however, I managed to get to El Capitan, working on the single partition, it is now again works fine and as far as I can tell without any problem.

After having to go that if I went back to load 10 Windows using Boot Camp. All works until the final start in the section windows it:

    • Creates the separate windows partition
    • Load the ISO file
    • The Windows Support Tools downloads
    • Runs the ISO file and everything looks good... see below: (apologies for the poor quality of the screenshots)

Then, during 'Finish Up', I get an error window:

"Windows has no prepare the computer to start the next phase of the installation." To install Windows restart installation. »

I tried many things such as to download the Windows ISO file again, running SNC and LANDAU after removing the Windows partition using Boot Camp Assistant and ensure that all other connections to the MBP is deleted except WiFi and get always the same message. As the whole process takes a few hours and tried to work through this for some days now, I would really appreciate some advice/help here for this issue very frustrating sorted.

    Thanks in advance

    Ian
