My phone has stopped ringing, but it will vibrate and display on call incoming screen then what direction should I have it on ring outloud.  I don't remember changing anything?

My phone has stopped ringing, but it will vibrate and display as a call comes in, so what settings should I have on that.  I don't remember changing anything?

Have you checked the ring/silent switch on the left side of the phone?

If the switch is slid to the back of the phone and you can see a red line above the switch (the side closest to the screen), it is in silent mode.

  • Display driver igfx has stopped responding, but has recovered, blue screen with a Bcc Code of 117.

    Original title: igfx display driver

I keep getting a message "the igfx display driver has stopped responding but has recovered.  A few times, it goes to a blue screen.  I'm not playing games when that happens.  My history of problem says it is a LiveKernelEvent with a Bcc Code of 117.  It began in May 2010 and continues.  I checked my driver and it is updated, or so it is said.  There must be some type of conflict.  All solutions?

This might work, keep in mind this is a templete response

Problem: something which called TDR auditor monitors for computer hardware, particularly the GPU, is tell the GPU constantly meet with computer for 2 seconds checker TDR restarts the driver. The TDR auditor has been good on paper but does not work in the real world. as a gpu may stop responding when he works hard.

Issue since the time of vista, this is why this problem virually never happened on XP

    Here is the solution
    Exit all Windows-based programs.
Click Start, type regedit in the search box, and then double-click regedit.exe from the above results. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002 (sometimes called ControlSet001) \Control\GraphicsDrivers

On the Edit menu, click New, and then select the following registry value in the menu drop-down specific to your version of Windows (32-bit or 64-bit):

    For 32-bit Windows
    Select DWORD (32-bit) value.
Type TdrDelay as the name, and then press ENTER.
Double-click on TdrDelay and add 8 to the value data and click OK.

    For 64-bit Windows

    Select QWORD (64-bit) value.
Type TdrDelay as the name, and then press ENTER.
Double-click on TdrDelay and add 8 to the value data and click OK.

Close the registry editor, and then restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

This puts a delay on the auditor of tdr of 8 seconds, so the gpu may stop responding for 10 seconds, this usually fixes the problem, if you are still suffering from this problem (after a reinstall of the drivers or updates, you know this annoying driver stuff)
To do this, do the same thing but instead of the 'TdrDelay' 'TdrLevel' type, enter the value data as 0 (it is on natively, but check) and then delete the TdrDelay.

    Restart

Which turns off completely Tdr checker, so windows now 7/vista/8 now works more like windows XP

  • Windows Media Player 11 has STOPPED WORKING... XP AND Vista problems

I have a home network with computers XP and Vista.   Computer XP is Dell Dimension 4600.  Vista computer is HP Pavilion Slimline.

On or about 6/10, WMP 11 on the Vista computer has stopped working properly.  Video will not play digital video (mpeg format), previously working but playing the audio from the file and the timer updates the video plays.

Attempt to update the codecs (K-Lite).  Didn't help... now, the native multimedia player K-Lite is the same way.

Deleting updates 6/10 and later versions.  No change.

System restore of flowing it at 6/9, 6/5, 6/4.  Restoration is back with "unexpected error".  The logs show a NTFS corrupted and suggested chkdsk run.  Filled with chkdsk c: /R with NO ERRORS.

Ran SFC/scannow on Vista machine.  He said "no violation of integrity.

Today (6/14), WMP 11 on XP machine has stopped working.  Videos will be running, but are extremely hectic, like something, it's stealing time CPU; However, the system idle process is higher than 90%.

    What the hell is happening?

EDIT TO add: I want to stress something else... Movie Maker on both machines still work.  Videos can be imported into and read correctly.

    I had things market... Finally.

I have none of the above.  I do not have the installation diskettes (OEM on a computer HP... no disks provided with the machine, have only the recovery disks that I made when I configured the system).

So until I went looking for a set of discs that I use, I did the following... and I * think * I know I could fix it, but I do not know...

I have re installed the K-Lite codec pack... only of video codecs.  I essentially took the video installation by default EXCEPT... I turned off video acceleration.  Intel Express Chipset not allow me to disable hardware acceleration by using its own GUI and Windows Vista would not touch parameters of acceleration as Intel ordered to them.  Well, I suppose that K-Lite has been able to do what could not do Windows and Intel wouldn't let me do.

Don't know if that was the fix or not, but everything works now.

    Hi Dominic,

Are you able to get into BIOS to make changes?

If so, you can try to reset the default settings of the BIOS and check.

NOTE: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

You can also try to remove all external usb devices that can be connected to the system and start-up and see if the system boots.

I understand that since you had the laptop he had an overheating problem with a loud fan noise that causes freeze it.

Recently, you have received the message that the CPU fan has stopped working and you couldn't hear the rotation of the fan to the top.

You have removed the fan and checked, but the fan works.  It is possible that the connection was not safe in Notepad.

  • Qosmio X 70 - graphics driver has stopped working, but has recovered

IM using a laptop Qosmio X 70 but when im using Photoshop to edit photos, I get a window telling me that the "graphics card stopped working but recovered", but the one to get Photoshop working again is closing in the Device Manager, then everything that I have worked on pop up is lost ,

How can I fix it if it does not happen?

What graphics card driver do you mean exactly?

The fact is that Qosmio X 70 - a models were equipped with an external graphics (nVidia) and the Intel CPU provides additional internal Intel HD graphics (according to the CPU)

Since the application Photoshop needs a lot of graphics performance (RAM), it would be desirable to use the NVidia GPU for execution using the Photoshop software.

I recommend you to change the settings for nVidia and assign the photoshop to nVidia GPU.
The setting can be changed in the nVidia control panel

There, you must choose the "manage 3D settings" (can be found on the left in the nVidia control panel)
Now in the main window, you will find two tabs "Global settings" and "program parameters".
In the 'Program settings' tab select the application (Photoshop) that should use the nVIdia GPU

If it is not listed, click the Add button
Then choose the graphic processor preferred for this program (generally must be nVidia processor high performance)

In "specific settings for this program", you can assign additional features to improve performance.

    Hello

    A.

Check that your laptop is overheating or not.

To do this use HWMonitor (free and recommended).

If it detects overheating, consult this guide.

    B.

    Update the Bios.

    The update of the Bios?

Download the last update of the Bios here.

Connect the power adapter to the netbook.

Disconnect from the Internet. Close all running programs. Disable anti-virus and firewall.

Double-click the Bios update exe file. It may take some time, so it is important to remain patient, not to interrupt the process. Allow the laptop to restart after applying the BIOS update.

Although this update is running are not:

    • Turn off your laptop,
    • Disconnect the power adapter,
    • try to run any software or do anything thereon.

    Note:

The Bios update process is always risky. You do this at your own risk.

    C.

    Update the graphics driver.

    Uninstall the Intel graphics driver.
