  There may be a program to interfere with Parental controls so that we can try a few things to see if we can determine the application or program that is causing problems.

  First of all, we run System File Checker to see if you have a corrupt file system.

  • Click Start
  • Click on all programs
  • Click Accessories, and then right-click on the command prompt.
  • Select the Security tab and choose "Run as Administrator"
  • Click on command prompt
  • Type SFC/scannow.

A clean boot is designed to disable programs and services in the background as much as possible.   Name change is a directory operation.  It would seem that you have read and write access to your directories, but you do not change access.  This highlights a problem with file permissions.  How is 'Simple' the fix depends on which version of Windows you have to a certain extent.

  Windows XP Pro (with "Simple file sharing" turned off) using the security"" tab. When you right-click on a file or a folder and select 'Properties', then click on the 'Security' tab to view and change the permissions.

  Windows XP Home Edition is a bit more complicated.  You can start safe mode and log in as administrator for the 'Security' tab as above, or you can open a command prompt window (start-> Run-> "cmd") and allows you to display the 'cacls' command or change the permissions of files and folders.  You should check that your username has permission to ull 'F' for your records.  Not pretty, but it works.

  I do not work unless your new router has the same SSID and password wireless as the old. Consult your printer documentation to find out how to handle the situation. For example, some Lexmark wireless printers have a program called Configuration Utility Wireless in the Lexmark folder under all programs on the start menu that is used to set up the printer when changes are made to the wireless network.

  Sometimes when I print a document that contains multiple pages, pops up an error. During the print job, the printer stops work on the intermediate page (for example - second page), spits out the rest of the blank page and all the lights flashing.   See the following message to solve the problem of .exe if necessary once you are sure that the system is clean.

  Try Mode safe mode with networking - repeatedly, press F8 that you start.

  The best two methods allow scanners to run and/or AV.exe out of the way or removing.

  CTRL SHIFT ESC - task manager OR right click on the taskbar - task manager

  Process tab - complete the process on AV. EXE and continue with the uninstall Guide.

  If necessary use start - computer or Windows Explorer to navigate to

  C:\Program Malwarebytes Anti - Malware\mbam.exe or where it is installed - if
  necessary right click on the shortcut of Malwarebytes - Properties - tab - target line to see where it
  is installed.

  Right-click on it and rename it to ZZMbam.COM (or something different than now), then
  Double-click it and run it like this. You can rename it back later. Do the same with others
  programs as needed. Use this method for other necessary - DO NOT ASSUMER one
  program removes all or that there is no other malware.

  It seems to be something unique to 16.0.1.

   I tried all the usual things, rebooting, uninstalling and downloading 16.0.1 and even resetting Firefox to its defaults, but all to no avail.  It just kept freezing and saying 'Not Responding' for about 30 seconds, happening so often as to make the browser effectively unusable.
  

  Finally, I uninstalled 16.0.1 and replaced it with beta 17.0

  That did the trick, and now it works quite well.
