My printer is not displayed on the list of devices in Windows 8... Please help!

I downloaded the software and the driver for my printer HP laserjet 3015 to my new Office Windows 8.  When I go to print and I can choose a printer, I can print my printer.  However, when my print job goes directly to the printer, it chooses the HP universal printer that does not exist.  When I go to change the default printer on the HP Universal printer to my printer, my printer is not.  Help, please!

Hello again,

I have included a fix for another model of HP printer, so file names do not match exactly.

If all goes well after watching, you can find those on your downloaded software, or the OEM installation CD.  You may have better results with the CD.

HP uses at least 2-3 "applications" as installers and sometimes an additional Windows Installer.

You must set the compatibility of ALL the

If you have not resolved your problem, try this...

You must go to

Control Panel... Devices and printers... Right-click on the printer, and then remove the system.

You might want to make sure that both HP (real and universal) are uninstalled from both Device Manager.

Also, be sure to set the Compatibility Mode of the installer for Win 7 or earlier. XP SP3 seems to be a good universal choice.

IMPORTANT:

If your drivers moved there not because of an error message... .not the correct operating system, you will need to EXTRACT the Setup program in a FOLDER, such as a .zip file. You will need a program like WinZip, WinRar, 7Zip, or even to do. 7zip has a free version.

(1) find on CD or EXTRACTED Installer... Installation with a HP icon and set the compatibility for Win 7.

(2) find HP-DQEX5 with a CD and the folder icon... and set the compatibility for Win 7.

(3) P6510x86 or P6510x64, depending on your system, for earlier Versions of Windows

4) double-click the HP Installer

Your installation CD may have more features than the download.

  • device does not appear on the list of devices or parental control - model EA2700

My son's iPod caused the parental conrols system crash. For some reason any his ipod has shown three times on the list of devices. So, I hit the 'X' on the list of devices when it has been disconnected to remove it from the list. Now, I can't it appears below the list of main devices or parental control. I can see the unit if I look under the DMZ/DHCP client table. I can even see it under the access as a guest, but it will not show upward under a regular connection, so I can't control it how do I get it to show up again?

The ipod must log on again, then it should appear.

I usually reserve an ip address for these devices in a dhcp reservation and give it a name in the reserve for the devices shows always like something that I can recognize because it can appear as just "peripheral network' for a name.

  • Hello printer does not appear in the list of IOS Printer Options

I have a home network with a router of Time Capsule.

I connected my Cannon MX920 wireless network.

The printer worked very well for my MacBook Air, my iMac, my Windows laptop, 10, my iPad and my iPhone.

There are no known pending software updates to devices.

I connected my HP OfficeJet 6500 (E709a) for the MacBook Air via USB and it works very well.

I installed on the portable Windows 10 Hello and I can print to the printer OfficeJet @ MacBook Air laptop Windows 10 and the iMac (and of course the MacBook Air) very well.

In Safari / Bookmarks / Hello on the MacBook Air, ONLY the Cannon printer is listed.  The OfficeJet directly attached via the USB port does NOT appear.

My QUESTION is how can I make the printer OfficeJet @ MacBook Air appears as option in the printer Options / recent printers of dialogue so I can print to it from my IOS devices?

This seems to be a pretty simple configuration problem, and I don't see the need to spent $ 20 on the App Store to make it work.  I see some comments along the lines of this problem, but the solutions are quite difficult to follow and seem to depend on having the printer appear in Safari / Bookmarks / Bonjour list.

I'll appreciate any solution (or explanation as to why it isn't a).

    Hello DevGuy,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community Support from Apple. I know how useful it can be to have all your devices on the network with a central printer, and I'd like to help offer a glimpse into what could prevent your of you using to print to your HP 6500 iOS devices.

In order to print from a device iOS, the printer must be connected to the same Wi - Fi network and supports the Air Print feature. After some research, it seems that the 6500 HP does not support this feature directly. You may be able to find a solution based on HP in the App Store app, but this printer does not have Air Print capacity based on support documentation, that I could find at HP.

For more information about known printing of Air and a list of compatible printers, have look at this article: About AirPrint

  • My new printer does not appear in the list of printers

I bought a new HP Officejet Pro 8715 and I had great difficulty it is set up to use. It seems the method to print and scan drivers has changed dramatically since my last new printer. HP supplies over a CD with the software, but rather is supposed to happen automatically via the Apple software when I plug in the printer. This was not the case.

At this point, I have the printer (4 hours) work, but I can't get the software "Readiris' of scanning to work. Yet once again, I am told that if I just plug the printer via the USB port and turn it on, then the OS knows what software to load. In reality, he doesn't "know" or "do" something.

I tried to configure manually by going to System Preferences > Print & Scan and then by clicking on the sign more to add the printer software. This will show you a huge list of printers, but the list ends with "Officejet Pro 8660." My printer is a 8715, so there is nothing for my printer. Installation of the software for 8660 did not help to solve the problem.

    Two questions:

    1. why list of Apple printers does not have my printer?

    2. How can I get the Apple software to see the drivers for my printer?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

    1. If the printer is a new model and HP did not provide Apple with the driver software, Apple would not list.

    2. go to the HP site to find and download the driver software.

  • Photosmart Prem C310: Printer does not appear in the list of printers - but is on the list of devices and printers

I'm used to be able to print perfectly in any program.

Now, I can print from Gmail - or I can print from this forum, however in Publisher or Word, or a genealogy program I use, the Photosmart is not one of the available printers listed.

When I go to Device Manager, I can right click on all the printers I have and see a long list of options, such as set as default printer.

But on the Photosmart, I right click and only get 4 options; create a shortcut, troubleshoot, remove the device and properties.

I downloaded new printer drivers and went through Assistant support, rebooted, unplugged and replugged etc.

    I can't understand this one!

My amplifier seems to work properly, the blue lights and signal improved in dead zone.  However, I noticed in watching my network equipment, the settings of the router it does not list anything that it is located at 192.168.1.240.  I was wondering why this would be when the expander control works correctly?  The router does not show it as a connected device?

I don't worry about this. Mine is not no more. I guess because it is set up as the router as a Repeater that is somewhat like a "ghost". I know it's there because I can ping and access to 192.168.1.240 in the browser. • Office 2010 does not display in the list of programs that can be set as the default value in Windows 7

I have Office 2010 Home and Student installed on my Pavilion p6367 c - b, which is under W7 Home Premium.

If I open Word or Excel and then use the open function to open a file, the file opens without any problem.  However, when I try to open a document or a spreadsheet by clicking on it directly (for example, in windows Explorer or a shortcut to this file), I get a message that says: there is no program associated with this file type and "create an association in the default program control panel.

Unfortunately, when I go on this Panel, Office is not shown as one of the programs that I choose and I see nothing to add.  I know I must be missing something but...

I hope someone can help me!

    Thank you.

    Hi, once again, Rick:

I played a bit with change the types of files on a Vista computer, I was working on that. I thought I had to use WinZip to open a file that had no association.

When I went to the list of available programs that is given to me, WinZip was not an option to choose. If it sounds the same problem you are having. You access the list to select an Office application to open a file and it is not among the list of available programs.

I thought it was weird, so I played a little bit more. If you go on the left side of the box, you should have options to look for other places, so I went to computer > CProgam files and then I scrolled down and found in WinZip. Then, I open the WinZip program menu and select the executable file to open the file.  It worked (well, he gave me WinZip as default program to open the file, but the file does not open. It must have been corrupted or something).

Then, give that a try. I am now back on the XP computer and do not have access to the specifics. But the procedure for file association for Vista is the same as W7. I write from memory of what I did last night.
