My system doesn't stop - I get the message "Update 1 of 1. Seems to be in a loop.
Windows XP stop loop installation 1 of 1
Unfortunately, we don't know anything about your system, but it's okay - you did not ask me.
What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
What do you do to get out of this situation in a loop situation?
If your system includes updates Microsoft downloaded and ready to be installed, when you choose to turn off the computer, you can choose to:
stop and install updates
stop and do not install updates
You would be able to see what was going on if you choose to stop and do not install the updates and then restart your computer and just install the updates manually. Then you can see what is happening and fix it.
When your computer is running again, double-click the yellow shield icon in the Notification area of the taskbar (next to the system time) updated.
You can choose a custom installation, updates, see the list of updates that are awaiting installation, choose to install the updates, and install updates to watch.
If the installation fails, then you will have some good clues and ideas and can report back with what is happening, that day is causing grief and what you see on the screen when you choose to watch it install.
I wonder how responses and answers to the topics and new threads in question would be modified/strengthened if forums Microsoft Answers would invite only for some basic system information, when a new question is asked...

I get the message update Firefox 23.0 by downloading and installing Firefox 24.0. I have this and restart Firefox but it's still the 23.0.1 version and I get another message to update Firefox version 24 once again.
Firefox can show the User Agent trouble, try looking at this article of support: sites say that Firefox is obsolete or incompatible, even if it's the latest version.

Whenever I try to update, I get the message "windows Explorer has stopped working". It then seeks a solution, restarts, and immediately stops again. No error, just a constant circle of shutdown and startup code. This has happened for days. I am running windows 7.
I think that norton or mcafee may have been preinstalled as trial versions, but I've never actually used them. Unfortunately I can't use the windows Explorer, so I can't check if they are still there.
We will cover all the possibilities.
1. download each of the tools for deletion below, save it to your desktop:
Norton Removal Tool: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe
McAfee removal tool: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).
3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all software (including LiveUpdate and Add-ons of Norton) Norton through Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view)
IMPORTANT! => Activate the Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.
IMPORTANT! => Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed the steps #4, #5 and #6 below!
4. right click on one of the files that you saved in #1 above and select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.
5. Repeat step #4 for another removal tool.
Tips:
-Online use another computer to download the removal tool, if necessary, then transfer it to the computer via CD, DVD, or a USB brand new, never been used (flash drive), or a summer freshly updated in shape.
-Online start the problem in Mode safe computer, if necessary, proceed as above.
-Online after completing all of the above, uninstall AVG Free & reboot. Now do a new installation of AVG Free 9.0, this time select the CUSTOM installation option and do NOT install (uncheck) Linkscanner Search-Shield, Active Surf-Shield, security or the email of crawl components toolbar.

I am more able to sync my I phone on my Mac and get the message that my phone cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes. He tells me to go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes... I downloaded the latest version on my mac, but what I do on my phone? I used to be able to sync the two and now I can't even download the photos from my phone on my mac...
iOS9 on a mobile device requires iTunes 12.3 or higher, which in turn requires a computer running OSX 10.8.5 or higher. Update of the system only checks the updates for the current version of the system you run, but that itself can be updated. It may or may not be possible to upgrade your computer to the system requirements. Find your computer on the web site of http://www.everymac.com model and near the bottom of the specification of the system section, he will tell what versions of the operating system, it is able to run. If you can not run a newer system, you will not be able to sync this phone to your current computer. If she can run 10.8.5 or higher, you can either buy a download for Apple OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion code online, or you can try to install the free El Capitan OSX 10.11. El Capitan can run slower on older machines and require the additional purchase of RAM. Making a big jump in versions of system is also more likely to affect the old software.

I get the message "firefox has stopped working" after closing browser
Hello.
My problem is that when I close the FireFox browser, I get the message "FireFox has stopped working". It's pretty boring. I have read some other posts here that describes a similar problem and we tried some of the suggestions in them including:
A clean install, a reset of the browser, running in safe mode, uncheck hardware acceleration, disabling Extensions and plugins one at a time, uninstall my antivirus (avast), backward to 23.01 and audit version run in compatibility mode that someone claims to be helped. None of this has been effective.
It seems that after a reboot of the computer, the browser will be ok for 2-4 closures and then it will start by the message at each end. In addition, after uninstalling avast was good for 6 closures. Roll back also gave me approximately 6 free message closures. But then, the messages and does not stop.
Is there anything else I can try? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I have put my school proxy settings and use them very often. On some Web sites, ads continue to use these proxy settings (probably to show me ads based on my preferences or I don't know), and I get the message "Authentication required" time and time again before the end of the loading page. It's annoying because if I have several tabs open and am currently on another page while loading the website with the ads, I'm brought back to this page to authenticate. Can I get asked 3 times to authenticate while this page loads, and it takes forever to load because of this. I don't want to disable my proxy settings because I use it very often. I tried to uncheck the "Accept cookies from Web sites" and nothing happens, it's always the same. I want these ads to stop going through my proxy settings. How do I do that?
Hello
You can try the add-on Adblock Plus . In addition to subscriptions, you can manually add URL patterns or click on an ad to add a filter.
