My usb device is not recognized / malfunctions since flashing the bios.

I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xt, and since I flashed the BIOS I get a message saying that the USB device has malfunctioned.  I reinstalled all Canon software and drivers, disabled/uninstalled all... so frustrated USB hubs... anyone?

Hello

Thanks for asking!

You may not use the Canon and get message that peripheral USB has malfunctioned.

What is the brand and model of the computer?

As you have flashed the BIOS, I suggest you to contact the computer manufacturer for help with this issue.

If you need assistance or if you have problems of Windows in the future, let us know and we would be happy to help you.

  • My USB devices are not recognized, but they have a power

My USB devices are not recognized, the only ones to be recognized are my mouse and keyboard. Each device is powered (motherboard works fine), but Windows 7 isn't their read (although sometimes I'll get a code 43). I have the latest chipset.

I tried right click and uninstall each device and rebooted the computer. Nothing has fixed this.

My external hard drive, ipod and other devices that involve the transfer of data seem to ONLY get power and nothing else.

It is not material because all my devices work on my laptop. Also my motherboard works fine (it's the 2nd RMA) and it has been tested at the factory to make sure of him.

I would really appreciate help with this

    I tried:
    Unistalling/reinstalling usb drivers
    Update BIOS
Uninstalling drivers for devices (ipod, keyboard, mouse, external hard drive)
    Updated motherboard drivers
    Compensation to reinstall Vista

I'm really confused on what else to try.

  • Canon LBP 2900 B: USB cable is not recognized by Setup on Windows 7

The USB is not recognized by the Installer before once. I was in windows 7 and downloaded the drivers from the official Canon Web site, so I've upgraded to windows 10 but a few reasons that I rolled back to windows 7 but now the printer driver is lost so I decided to reinstall. I've seen a lot of discussions on this and in this respect Canon website but nothing works at all. Also, I tried these things:

    • Reinstall the software.
    • Tried to update the existing drivers, and then restart the computer.

    • Download the software again.

    Help me in this please.

    Kind regards

    Siddharth.

    Hello Siddharth,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community and appreciate your efforts to solve this issue.

Have you tried to connect to any other USB device? Has been the result even?

I understand that the USB device is detected by your computer, but could not install the driver and get the message "cannot recognize the USB connection. The question may arise if the currently loaded USB driver has become unstable or damaged or if your PC requires an update for problems that could conflict with a device USB and Windows. This can also occur if your USB controllers may have become unstable or corrupt. So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Please try the fixit (s) provided below which will help you solve common problems associated with devices and USB ports.

If method 1 does not work, try Method 2.

    Method 2:

Remove and reinstall all USB controllers.

    1. Open Manager devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click system and security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. In the list of the categories of equipment, locate and expand Bus USB controllers.
    3. Right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    4. Restart the computer and let the USB controllers get reinstalled.
    5. Plug in the removable USB device and test to make sure that the problem is solved.

If the problem persists, go to method 3.

    Method 3:

This method will install the latest drivers from device to your USB device.

    1. Click the Start button, type Windows Update in the search box, and then click Windows Update in the results pane.
    2. Click find updates. When the scan finished, click optional review updates.
    3. Click the check box next to the update, and then click install updates.
    4. If you are prompted, read the license agreement, then click I agree.
    5. Follow the instructions on the screen to download and install updates.
    6. If you are prompted, restart your computer.

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.
