My system worked well until: _.

If there is a problem starting, XP is configured to automatically try to start again and you can stuck in a loop not being able to go beyond the screen boot options, or none of these startup options you choose will work only.

Sometimes, when XP has a problem starting or falls down and tries to start again, it will give you a "short" menu of boot options and none of them will appear to be good to get your system going again.  You have tried them all!

The options are similar to the Advanced Boot Options menu XP, but the only option that you need (disable automatic error system reboot) are not offered, because XP went too far during the boot process and offers a limited number of boot options.

If this is the case, you must call Options menu advanced boot yourself until you do not see the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

When you get the XP Advanced Options correct start menu you want to see, he has options on it like these:

    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt

    Enable Boot logging
    Enable VGA mode
Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
    Debug mode
Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Start Windows normally
    Reset
    Return to OS Choices Menu

You need to choose in this menu is the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start tapping the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restart on system failure, and then select.

You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

If your system has a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), we need to know what the screen says:

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:

    http://TechRepublic.com.com/i/tr/downloads/images/bsod_a.jpg

Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).

Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.

If it looks like there is some kind of name listed in the STOP message file, send this line also.

Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

The possible fix is the same that you can not boot the system currently.

You need to make a computer repair/restore on another disc, borrow a friends Windows disk.

  • Windows 10 can not boot after installing the Bootcamp drivers

I have an iMac late 2013 (21.5 "), and I just got 10 Windows so that I can install it using bootcamp. I spent a good part of two days trying to get Windows to work with installing bootcamp, but no matter what I do, the result is always the same. If I let bootcamp install its driver (as he wants when you start first in 10 Windows after installation), Windows will crash before loading fully at the next startup. He comes to see the windows logo pop up with the loading circle spinning around for a second, until what the circle all the sudden stops. After that, it restarts and I hear the iMac from sounds (this much quieter time for some reason any) and then it does the same thing. The third time that it restarts, it starts the automatic recovery mode and I get caught for the advanced boot menu. After letting Windows reinstall itself, it works fine except that it lacks some of the display driver (I can't adjust the brightness) and I also can not use the function keys on my apple keyboard, or the magic mouse at all.

I tried to reinstall OS X El Capitan and then repeat the installation for Windows. I tried with the driver OS X Downloads for me in Bootcamp (version 6.0), and I've also tried using those newer that Apple offers for download on their site (Version 5.1.5769). All attempts of the result of facilities Bootcamp in crash of boot even when Windows is restarted.

Windows is still usable, I just think it would work as it is supposed for a Mac wish. Why the bootcamp drivers break 10 windows? Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so, any suggestions?

    Thank you

BC 6.x drivers are more recent and recommended for Windows 10 models 2013 and following.

BC 5.x drivers are older and meant for W7/W8.1. • Windows 7 will not Boot

Hello, I have a HP Pavilion laptop g6, g6-1b79dx model. It runs Windows 7 and is about 1.5 years old and is used for the school. The only things I do on this are usage of the internet, the Microsoft Office Applications and run MATLAB and various CAD programs.

He was woking fine, but then a day ago I turned it on and it took forever so that it starts. The programs were insensitive, I received messages from strange error and pop-up windows of system files, I've never seen before (had to look it up on the phone to find out that they were computer files and not virus/malware). Whenever I got tired to open a program it would be really weird, sometimes a click would take minutes to register or it wouldn't even register at all. My antivirus didn't load correctly in a first time, and everything that took place at the start so was giving me error messages. I tried to restart and that did not fix the problem. I managed to start a scan using antivirus, and it turned up nothing.

Then, the laptop froze and I could do nothing, so I had to make a hard stop. But when I turn on back flashes a blue screen and tells me to window cannot start normally and told to try to fix it using the built-in tool. I do that and it loads but then nothing happens, and I see the message in cmd "could not perform the screening because could not detect 2 hard drives on this system."

I'm pretty good with computers, but I have no idea why my computer suddenly went from 100% fine to not exploitable in about 6 hours.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and happy holidays.

    Hello

    You are welcome

As you mention, the procedure to replace the hard drive is quite simple and I would not anticipate any problems here.  The procedure is detailed from Page 42 of your & Maintenance Guide.

There are a few points to note.

First of all, the HARD drive replacement

    1. do not buy a smaller car in quality than the original because it often leads to problems with the recovery procedure.

    2. given there is virtually no difference in the price, I highly recommend buying a car with a rotation speed of 7200 RPM - this will give you a little better performance.  Your original HARD drive is listed as 500 GB, but a 750 GB 7200 RPM HARD drive can be a better option if you want.

    As examples.

500 GB hard drive for laptop.

750 GB hard drive for laptop.

Secondly, regarding the reinstallation of Windows 7.

    You have 2 options here.

    1. order a set of replacement of the HP recovery discs - you can use the link here.

2 another solution, you may want is detailed below.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

    Hello

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Try the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if it helps.

Windows Vista or Windows 7 unbootable, and the Startup Repair tool does not resolve the problem:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/934540

    Method 2:
You can refer to the link below and check the drive for errors:

If the methods mentioned above do not solve the problem, then it would be best to contact the manufacturer of the computer.

For more information, see the following Microsoft article and check if that helps.

  • Windows 10 could not locate the boot camp partition

I'm trying to install 10 Windows on an iMac end of 2015 with a 512 SSD.  With the help of Boot Camp and an ISO of Windows 10, I am able to create the Bootcamp partition and the iMac restarts in the Windows of Windows installation. I enter my product key for my Windows 7 DVD and reach the screen showing partitions.  I select "disk 0 Partition 5 Boot Camp" partition and click on 'Format' according to the Apple support document.  The partition is then renamed to 'Drive Partition 0 5'.  When I select the next button, I get the following error message:- "we couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one.  For more information, see the Setup logs files'.  The Windows Installer does not progress.  I deleted the partition several times using bootcamp and restarted the installation and always get the same failure.

Any advice on how to install Windows would be greatly appreciated.  Boot Camp 6 will let me install Windows 7 on the iMac and so I need to use Windows 10.  I guess the Windows 10 ISO downloaded from Microsoft will work with the Windows 7 product key and Setup seems to accept it.

Please, disconnect all external storage devices to your iMac and run the following two procedures.

Windows XP does not start. Can I boot Windows from a disk so that I can recover the data? This should be a CD because it doesn't have a floppy disk on my laptop drive. It is maybe that my hard drive has begun to fail and therefore cannot locate XP startup files. I can not start using one of the other methods of starting for example. Safe mode. Lately, I'm leaning toward the Hiren's BootCD you can download here:

    http://www.hirensbootcd.NET/

On the left, click on download, scroll down, choose the most recent version

The download link is a little hard to see.  It is at the bottom of the page, above the drop for older versions and looks like this (click this component to download the ZIP file):

Direct HTTP mirror + Torrent, Torrent Magnet

Click the "Live HTTP Mirror" link to start the download and save the ZIP file on your desktop of somewhere that you can remember.

The ZIP file is large, so the download will take probably some time to complete.  Then unzip the download to extract theHirens.BootCD.ISO file that will be used to create your new bootable CD.

Create a bootable CD. ISO file is not the same as simply copying the. File ISO onto a blank CD.  You must use software that includes how to burn a. ISO to a CD to create a bootable CD.

File ZIP the Hiren is the file BurnToCD.cmd that you can double-click to launch it.  The BurnToCD.cmd will use the file BurnCDCC.exe to burn the. ISO file onto a blank CD using your existing CD burner.  You can also use your own burning software as long as your software is able to create a bootable CD. ISO file.  More modern burning programs can create a bootable CD. ISO image.  Create a CD from an ISO image bootable is not the same as just the file on a CD burning.

If you need a simple and CD burning, this is a free software popular software:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your new bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.
These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When starting on the Hiren's CD, you will see a menu of options.  Choose Mini XP.

It will appear while Windows is loading and you will be presented with a desktop computer that has the look and feel of the interface of Windows Explorer, you are already accustomed to using.  You will feel at home.

Using the Mini XP, you can access the Internet, maneuver around your system, copy files, replace the files, run the scans for malware, etc.  There are dozens of free and useful tools included in the CD that can be used to repair your system, or copy files to another device such as a USB device or an external drive if drop in trying to repair your system.

If you want to see if you can fix your system, describe what is happening when you try to start and to answer these questions:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

    Hello

    1. do you receive any error messages?
2 has there been any changes made on the computer before the show?

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, you can create a new user account and check if the problem still persists.

    Create a user account
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-a-user-account

If the problem is resolved in the new user account, you may have corrupted profile.

    Method 3:

If the problem persists you can scan your computer anti-virus using the Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Microsoft safety scanner will help us to get rid of software viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Warning: If you run the antivirus program that is infected by the virus scan will get deleted. Therefore, reinstall the program. Also, if files and folders are affected by the virus, while they might even get deleted.
