My 'window of restoration' - function receizes window 0.0 by 0, 0mm.

Just as the title suggests.

If I open Microsoft Outlook 2010, I can't do anything, because the windows disappears immediately.

But through the Windows Task Manager I can maximize the window. But, if I push the "restore window" - button, the window shrinks to 0.0 by 0, 0mm.

How can I reset the size of the window?

With the friendly reagerds.
Mike

When the window is reduced, but selected, can you hold down the ALT key while pressing the space bar to bring up a dialog box that includes "size"?  If so, when this dialogue window opens, key the 's' to select 'Size' then hold upwards or downwards arrow to stretch the window in that direction.  When finished, release the button and press 'Enter '.  Then repeat using the left arrow or right to stretch in the other direction.

What can I do to recover my system restore feature?

I was going to do an installation of hotfix os from the orignal disc but got waring the operating system installed is newer than the one on the disk (I have installed the latest service packs)

    Hello

1 did you changes to the software to the computer?
    2. what happens when you try to use the system restore? You get the error message?

You get this error message if you already have a newer version of the operating system and then if you try to install an older version on it.

    Method 1.
Temporarily disable the security software installed on the computer and check if the problem persists.
Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2.
Please check if you are facing the same question when working in safe mode.
    a. restart your computer.
    b. when the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information tap the F8 on your keyboard key repeatedly until you are presented with the screen Windows XP Advanced Startup Options.
    c. using the arrow keys, select the desired option of Mode without failure.
    d. press the Enter key on your keyboard to start in safe mode of Windows XP.
    e. when Windows starts, try using System Restore and verify.

  • I clicked "forget this site", I can cancel it by running the "System Restore" function to retrieve my story?

I clicked "forget this site" and I am looking for a way to undo it. I have heard say there is no way to retrieve the history of a particular site, once it has been deleted, but surely, it leaves some kind of record in the system? I read an article that suggested running the "System Restore" feature which gives me the option to "restore my computer to an earlier time" before that some changes have been made. Would this work?

Hello, windows system restore will not restore the file that contains the history of firefox unfortunately (it's called places.sqlite). you would need a backup of your firefox profile folder to retrieve such data.

Please also update firefox - the version that you are currently using is outdated and affected by many security vulnerabilities.

  • AppAssure Finialze restore function?

Ive come from the shadow world protect and liked the possibility when you perform migrations to start a restore since the current recovery point but not to finalize the restoration until I was ready to cut overall, then when you're ready to I would take one final glimpse of live machine, which would be very low, then turn off and do the final restoration and finalize it allowing for minimum downtime.

It is similar to the continuous restoration, but it's only good for Hyper-V or ESXi, we run Xen server and now Nutanix Acropolis.

So back to my original question is there an ability to perform a restore of a machine offline full, one final glimpse of do live and restore and cut during the new machine with minimal downtime...

for example I want to migrate a file server to an entirely new material.  Large amount of files = restore time and I don't want to take the server offline for this large amount of time required to restore, to offline for 10-15 minutes, he should make a final glimpse of the original machine and restore it.

    Kind regards

    Stephen...

Unfortunately not.  I have raised this with PM in the past and they like the idea it opens options a little during the migration, for me it was during the restoration of a physical server and a server running the free ESXi license.

What I understand, quite low on the list of requests for functionality and probably not in the initial versions of RR6.

I would have thought it could have been quite explicit that he will too change the operations of the core, much easier than adding VirtualBox suppoer and just an update of the TCU, but I do not pay the invoice (only some of them) and in all honesty, there was much more high enough on the list which in just title which made low.

    Sorry, not the desired response.

However, you can restore just the C drive and direct for other volumes recover if your servers are configured accordingly.

Now I wonder every time if I allow or refuse them. Would that have something to do with the menu remote content stopping...?)

    It looked like this:

    Edit Remote preferences

The current version should display the following message with a remote content.

All, I finally managed to replace the version of R R & on the Master Boot Record.

First, I started with a R boot drive at & R.  You can either use one you did with R & R when (if) you put always a full backup on CD (which I do every year), or the startup disk (a, a) that Lenovo is sent to you with the 7 product Recovery CD, you can restore your PC to specifically state that you received from the factory or store (if you have purchased again).

R & R starts automatically on startup with the version of R CD R & makes the startup disk (be it when you or Lenovo is the startup disk.)

My experience is that after you start with this CD, I shut down R & R normally, then restarted the computer by using the MBR (pushing the Thinkvantage or F11 key at the beginning in the trunk) and voila - it starts with the same version that you started with the CD in the last step.

I also discovered that if you use R & R to restore to a time when the Version of R & R was different from what is working on the MBR, which also change the MBR.  Again, both are good information that will certainly be useful trivia some time.

Thanks again to all who jumped and provided information that ultimatelly led to the solution

  • Is there a known conflict when using Firefox 3.6 and Norton Security on Windows XP, which could lead to the restoration of Windows Progrsm unable to return the C: drive to restore points?

It happened once that shortly after Firefox the default browser and I could not have restored functional, even after disabling restore on all drives, restarting and creating a manual restore point. I then did a clean install of Windows XP and found a functional restoration. On several occasions after reloading I tested all restoration programs and it worked normally. Now, two weeks later he did it again. I wonder if it might be Firefox or Norton.

Yes, it's a known conflict of Norton.

    1. "Norton 2006 and later products have a safety feature that prevents outside programs from making changes to the Norton product.» This security feature can prevent the Windows system restore from changing Norton files, resulting in the "Restoration incomplete" message

Temporarily disable the Norton product protection before running the Windows system restore. »
