My word balloons have a look "washed out" to them (photoshop 6.0)
I have only the most basic need for my comic book scanned in but when I add a word I: ball
#1. in the toolbar, select the elliptical tool Marqueee
#2. Make a circle for the ball (in the points)
# 3. hold down SHIFT to position my pointer to the funnel or the arrow until Word balloon for the character who speaks
#4. Go to EDITION > RACE > choose black color > press SELECT
However, after you have selected the black line to make the speech balloon, it is very cloudy, foggy and faded looking. Is there a setting I'm missing? Don't forget my program is version 6.0 - don't laugh, it works for me! Thank you
Oh, Yes. I don't remember all the way back to version 6.0, but I guess it works about the same way as the modern versions. Without seeing a full screenshot of your work space, I'll guess that you have a feather on the elliptical tool.

Text looks washed out when I launch Firefox or return to the home page.
When I start Firefox, the text on my home page looks like it is washed out or as when a printer is out of black ink and print only the color. If I update then everything is normal. I found that it only does so with Firefox. IE and Chrome are ok. I tried safe mode and removed my extensions one at a time, and she always does.
Try turning off hardware acceleration:
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.
You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).
Then perform the following steps:
- Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
- In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
- You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
- Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Images Photoshop look washed out in the first
Some of my photos from Photoshop CC 2015 (and bridge) established first as psd files (and some jpg) appear washed out and less than the original. Many times they are not, however. I tried 'Original Edition or retouching in Photoshop' first, but that doesn't help - the Photoshop and Bridge image simply looks different from the first a. I need first look the same good Photoshop image edited.
One point: I have worked in Photoshop CC 2015 (subscription of $9.99 / month Photographers') but in Premiere Pro 5.5. When this issue came up, I started a trial of first Pro CC version, and the problem persists.
Help, please.

Thank you very much for the offer. While I was waiting I kept trying this or that. I think it is now resolved: If you're doing a "save under", instead of a backup and then uncheck the box "ICC profile: Adobe RGB 1998", the changes made in Photoshop and then reflected in first. " I have not yet seen of workaround still works, but hope.
If I'm going to continue to work in PrP5.5 or go to PrPCC is always open. 5.5 works faster for me because I have to recognize my card Nvidia 260 (minor hack), and the Mercury engine is effect. I can't get the PRP to do, and will have either a hack or a new video card. All the suggestions of the hack or an affordable card?
Thanks for responding.

picture looks washed out on save?
Hello
My question is about photoshop elements, but I thought that people who know what they are talking about would be in this forum, I hope this isn't a problem.
When I open a (high resolution JPG) photo in photoshop (elements), it looks great. Then when I use 'save for web' the resulting jpg (or PNG) colors has all sort of washed out looking. What looks like a professional shot (which is actually a professional shooting) suddenly appears less pro.
What is the cause, and can I do about it? It is not the "quality" of JPG, it is the problem, because same full quality does the same thing.
And then part 2 to my question: when I download on myspace, it seems even MORE washed out. If I have all three photos is displayed on my screen (original, cropped in photoshop, myspace) the difference is obvious. Of course this second issue is not strictly a matter of photoshop.
Any thoughts?
Thank you

PS. OSX 10.5.6 PES 6
The problem is that your screen has a smaller range than sRGB. So when you preview the image in a browser that is unmanaged, you see without compensation of color that appears faded. Do you see a difference between Safari and Myspace because Myspace is stripping the image sRGB profile, so then your browser returns without compensation of color and you get the washed look.
To relax. You see all of the images in this way. Open any web image with no profile embedded in PS, assign sRGB and you will see the art as the artist intended, for the first time. You cannot stop people to view your photos in this way. Your best bet is to make sure you're conversion / work in sRGB which is the 'norm' of the web.
If the image is really important, you can tag with the small (~ 4 k) managed profile sRGB so those with Safari and other browsers will see the color that you intend. But thanks to Myspace and Facebook, you're ground do not worry. Is no longer everyone.
And don't forget, each piece of art you have ever seen on the web stink just like what you see now, and you have never noticed before.

Place looks washed out compared to the original in Photoshop TIFF
I have a TIFF file created in Photoshop with Adobe RGB color profile (1998). It seems lively and great. When I put in my InDesign document, however, it seems dull and washed out. InDesign color settings are:
Work space: Adobe RGB (1998)
Color management policies: keep profiles incorporated (for the two RGB/CMYK)
When installing, I selected "Display Options" and tried to use Adobe RGB (1998) and the default Document. Nothing seems to make any difference.
This happens on my Mac Leopard 10.5.5 and machines to Windows XP SP3.
If there is transparency on the page and your fusion of transparent space is CMYK image is forced into your doc CMYK color space.

A document icon faded in the Pages file picker is not a document Pages, but most likely a PDF document, which can not open Pages.

HP w2338h HDMI seems washed out compared to VGA.
The w2338h myHP when using HDMI, the colors look washed out and show levels of black poor compared to the use of VGA.
I found a solution! I don't know what you have to do in the ATI drivers, but I guess that there is a similar option buried.
The NVIDIA Control Panel, go to "Desktop color Adjust settings" under "view". From there, the "Digital color Format" change RGB to YCbCr444 and voila, your color and black level problems are fixed!

When reading web pages... a lot of lines is unclear, dull... they appear washed out. We just replaced our old century link modem/router with their new version of [PK5001A]. When I run the cursor over the wrong guy... looking she usually sharpens, although the effect created is a very sick feeling in your eyes. Why is this flaky looking for type occurring and what can do us about it?
Is the problem with some web sites? Most? All the?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
While you are in safe mode;
Press < Alt > or < F10 > to display the toolbar.
Followed;Windows; Tools > Options
Linux; Edit > Preferences
Mac; name of the application > PreferencesThen Advanced > General.
Find and stop using hardware acceleration.
Then restart. -
Work in photoshop, I think I hit a key that washed out/desaturated image. The action appears in history and if I click at the beginning of al history of my settings disappear, but the image is washed out. Worked a few hours on this image and want to save without restarting. All the other images I opened are not desaturated.
Sounds to me like you may have accidentally hit something like a single channel. go to the channels Panel and make sure that the composite is selected (RGB or CMYK). Hit a combination of keys Ctrl/Cmd + 2 or 3 or 4? These solo shortcuts to channels of color... and I do not think that which appears in the story.

On a displayport screen colors are washed out
Hello
I have a user who is running a HP Compaq SFF 6300 Pro and Windows 7 Pro, all of the latest patches. We have set a second monitor to the display port using an adapter VGA DisplayPort cable / and the image is washed out. Gray things clear looko on white look on the displayport VGA port. I tried three different monitors, two HP L1911 and a L1910. All look the same, washed on the displayport, but look good on the VGA port.
I also tried two displayport different VGA adapters. The adapters are HP DisplayPort / VGA adapters, p/n: 752661-001, recently purchased.
Any suggestions? We tried to play with the settings of the monitor, but he could not do better. Are there settings in the system that I should try? Different drivers maybe?
Thanks in advance,
Linn
Resolved, I have think (?)... Talked to HP Technical Support and it turns out that the HP DisplayPort adapter we sold is not compatible with computers of model we have, go figure. Never would have guessed that an adapter like this one could have problems of compatibility beyond the types of connector.
Shot of an old adapter from a different computer on the same model and it is much better.
Now wait on my seller to return to me on an Exchange.

HP Color Laserjet 2605dn: Print is washed out/completely wilted on printer 2605dn
We have a Laserjet 2605dn HP color printer has intermittent printing problems. Most of the time, the quality of the printed output is very well, but from time to time, the print quality deteriorates completely. After a while, printing then returned back its normal quality.
The printer is on a network and serves as WIndows XP/7/8/10 and Linux machines as it has throughout his life. He has never had a genuine HP toner cartridges installed. It is not heavily used, we print usually less than 100 pages per week, often less.
The problem is that out of all the colors and black, gets so bad as to be unreadable. The printed output is so washed out it's (almost) impossible to read anything through the entire page. This can happen for all the pages of an entire document, but often it will print the first part of a multipage fine print job and then the quality deteriorates gradually to illegibility. Subsequent print jobs will also sometimes unreadable, but are also likely to print correctly. There seems to be trigger (that we can determine) this behavior or when it will happen well.
While the printer was used for a few years, he printed out a little more than 20 000 pages in total. This leads me to think that age should not be a problem. We replaced all the cartridges, tried recalibration, print cleaning pages, all without success. I found a solution for a problem of fading Magenta also requires cleaning the mirrors, but our problem is not that same as - everything fades to nothing in our printer, it is not a case of a single color fade a little, is much more radical than that.
Suggestions as to how we could solve this problem? Is there additional information that might help diagnose the cause and suggest a fix?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
It looks like I won't get my hands dirty inside this printer after all. The boss decided it would probably be too annoying overall for me (US) to try to fix it. So he decided to buy a new color printer and remove it.
Thanks for the answers to my questions.
Now I just need to find how to mark it as "resolved", or otherwise close it, as appropriate in this forum.

color washed out on my Inspiron (7559)
There is something wrong with my colors. I ran a test on Gta V and the sky looks more gray than blue and in general everything is blurry and washed out. I know it, is not the best display, but is something I have never experienced in any screen. What is a driver issue? I installed later.
:-) I would like to replace the screen under warranty. You will have to go through the hoops a bit.

Hello everyone. I'm using After Effects and Premiere Pro CC 2015 and having the same problem with both products. My final rendering output is very different from my overview of the workspace. I do all my color ranking on 4 k files and everything is great, but when I got out to any popular codec, it has a smokey/Misty look, almost as if the tones were too high. What happens when I exit 1:1 or down up to 1920 x 1080. Also, no matter if I export or both or use Media Encoder. I hope that someone else has seen cela and knows what is happening. I have checked all the settings and you don't see anything obvious. Thanks in advance, Robert

I have an indesign this work of Illustrator related uses of the file. The illustrator files contain opacity masks, and when I import into my layout indesign they give the bottom of the pages a washed out appearance. I noticed that the page in my project Indesign who doesn't have opacity masks linked seems fine.
So, I know that the opacity mask is performing the indesign document somehow but I don't know how to solve the problem. I tried merging the texture in the opacity mask, flattening of the illustration illustrator, paste the illustrator shape directly on the page, save the work as a PNG; but nothing seems to work.
Here is a picture of the page with the related work.
Here is one of how the page should look like.
Here is the configuration of my illustration illustrator opacity mask. Its basically a group of white textures I pasted in the opacity mask. It's a single layer.
If anyone has any ideas or ideas, I would be happy. I hope I have provided enough details.
Thank you for all your help. I thought about it. I did the background texture in photoshop and converted to grayscale. Turns out I should have converted to CMYK. Once I did this everything unified in my indesign document.
Kind of a moment of c ' h but good.
Thanks again for all the quick responses.

Change a washed out sky?
I have an image that has a washed out sky, almost white in color. I tried to change the sky, but do not have another copy of the image at a different time of the day to be able to blend in with a different look. There is also a tree in a corner of the image that covers a part of the sky makes it harder to drop out of the sky and add a new. Does anyone have a good suggestion on how to change the appearance of the sky either replacing or adding to the existing one? Thank you.
GulfCoast salvation,
It is difficult to know the best approach without seeing the real picture, but my inclination would be something like this
1. create a new empty layer on top of the stack for the sky
2. create a selection of the area of the sky, maybe just a long rectangle by using the rectangle
3. Add a gradient in the layer in the selection, have degraded vertical and light down
4. change the blending Mode of the layer to multiply sky
