Name of the Contact to blackBerry Smartphones torch does for incoming calls

I discovered this problem yesterday when my mom called with its Bold 9700. It always shows 'unknown number '. My mommy phone has the same problem too. How would I solve this one? Hope you can help me. Thank you. :-)

Camus assi,

It could be one of the four solutions... Try these, (the path to the settings may vary on your torch):

1. make sure that you set your own code to the Dialer phone screen > Options > smart dialing.
Set your country Code in this format: "+ xx" where xx = country code. Some countries have two or three-digit country Codes. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
* In the United States, the value of this country as '+ 1' Code and place your code in the appropriate box (this normally the default setting in a new BB).

2. in the same place, change the length of National number for the number of digits corresponding to your country (since some countries have less than 10 as that set by default in the BB). Check out the total numbers, less country code. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
* For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (more than 3 for the country code). You must enter '8 '.

3. you probably have "Content Protection" located on your address book.
Look at the Options > Security > General settings. Scroll down to the content Protection > include addresses = no
* If you don't see it here, your device operating system handles this differently. Look at the Options > Security > encryption.

4. go to Options on your device > Security Options > encryption > include contacts the value 'No '.

  • Name of the sender of blackBerry Smartphones not presented in SMS

I have a problem with a brand new Bold 9700.  When you receive a text (SMS) the user name is not displayed, just their mobile number details.   Details of the person are stored in my contacts on the phone and if you click on options for the text message, it then the numbers on the name of the sender, as it adds to their name in the e-mail options, call, SMS, etc.

I went in the SMS options and initially seen as the option ' display the names of "was marked as 'no '.  I thought: aha changed to 'Yes', but this makes no difference.

    My o/s is v5.0.0.344 (Platform 5.1.0.96)

Carrier is Vodafone in the United Kingdom

I've seen other posts updates, but they were o/s version 4xx, which seems to be a different version to mine (which seems as odd as mine is a new phone) and so had kind of fear of trying it on my o/s.

    Any help would be appreciated

The fix for this is one of two things:

Either change ALL your phone numbers you text and receive the text to remove the (parentheses)...

    Or, upgrade the operating system...

When I missed an incoming call, the end button becomes irrational.  it becomes the call button.  When I press it, the call log screen appear.  I can't go out until the next time that a call arrives and I pick it up.  Then it disappears.

With the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

See if this helps solve the problem the next time this happens.

  • End of picture for the Contact to blackBerry Smartphones

I will have no problem bringing more of my details, but the photos associated with contacts in Outlook will be transferred to the Blackberry.  Is this possible?

I have no problem with that. Contact transfer pictures very well, both Outlook in storm and vice versa.

You can check your synchronization settings... Here are a few instructions (I use Outlook 2007 btw)

    1. connect the storm to your pc

    2. open the Desktop Manager

    3. click on icon "synchronize".

    4. in the left menu, under "Configuration", click "sync".

    5. on the new right screen, click the 'sync '.

    6. once the software Intellisync window opens (it takes a few moments)...

    7. turn highlighted "Address book Microsoft Outlook <->" by clicking once on it, then click on the button "Advanced...". "below

    8. click on the "Field mapping" button at the bottom of the new window that opens

    9. scroll down until you find something like 'Photo <->Photo of Contact' and make sure that they are linked with the double arrow and they are mapped correctly, which means that 'Picture' on the side of the camera has 'Photo contact' on the side of Outlook.

You can run also through the installation wizard again, ensure that you have set to "Two-way synchronization", and the other settings are correct. You can reach the Setup program in the same window in step 7 above.

    Hope that helps

  • BlackBerry Smartphones unknown number for all calls

Recently, I received my Verizon Storm (9530) and after a few questions on their side Server with activation, everything worked perfectly.  Monday, my wife called me in the afternoon and everything was fine.  That night she called me and the unknown number came.  Each call will now appear under the unknown number.  When I shout at her phone it shows up as Restricted, yet I don't have one of these security options enabled, now I use the number restriction (* anything).

I searched the forums here and tried everything I found listed. including of OS.151, which made it worse and then the phone does not charge when it is plugged.  I have seince downgraded to OS.148 and everything else on the phone works perfeclty, except list calling you.

    Suggestions more?

    Thank you

    Jon

I just can't understand what setting will be changed. I'm new to Blackberry and it was SOOOOO frustrating. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

When I receive a call from someone in my contacts list, only the number is displayed and not the name of the contact. Can somone help me retify this problem, because it drives me crazy not knowing who is calling me. Thank you

You probably have your secruity contained protections defined to include the content. So when the device is locked the names do not appear in the incoming call. I don't know if there is a problem with the unit, but I have a solution.

    to solve the...

    Options

    Security settings

    General settings

And under the Protection of the content select 'no' to the include contacts

  • BlackBerry Smartphones for incoming calls caller ID displaying DO NOT name of contacts (phone number only views)

Whenever I receive an incoming call, the caller ID shows that the phone #, even when I have that number corresponded to a contact.  Since I have not much phone # stored s, I have no idea it's someone I know.  However, the contact name appears in the diary of appeal, but not on the initial display of incoming call.  How can I get caller ID to recognize and display the name of the contact with the phone #? Any help would be greatly appreciated!  (I have the blackberry 8520)

  • List of contacts from blackBerry Smartphones on bearing phone numbers?

New to Blackberry, but I'm pretty sure when I sync all initially had my Outlook contacts and then displays my contact list and rolled on a name, only phone numbers contacts appear as contacts.  Then I could roll the correct number and dial by pressing the trackball.

Now, I get no display of phone numbers that I ride on a contact name in the contacts list.  I have to press the trackball or enter key to view info contact set and then select the phone number.

Have I have big fingers tweaks without knowing?  I have read the manual and searched the web and can't find any arrangement which would alter the display of the list of contacts.  Maybe I just imagined?

Workaround.  The Act of rolling the trackball on the name of the contact and see the phone numbers of the contacts under the name apparently only works when you use the function of name search from the home screen, and not in the contacts list.

    No need to practice!

  • The name of the Contact only

    Hello

I do a demo application in which I want to call a number of my application. I'm doing it with success. I'm just passing the number of my application to the built application that makes the call. But I want that the built application in does not display the dialed number but should show only the name of the contact stored in my application.

Is it possible to only show the name of the contact?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, the problem still exists. I work around by 2 seconds to delete the pending call log, but other people report that they still have problems with this approach.

You can view what you want in your App if you want the native application to show things you have to do a few laps.
