NB10t-A-101 power problem

I have 2 laptops from Toshiba, the two are identical. 1 of them will power not. The charger works correctly. The power button lights. The power light lights up for 3 flashes. It is a Satellite, NB10t-A-101. Can anyone offer a solution?

I'm not an expert, I'm a user
but try to remove the battery, then connect the AC to the PC and try to turn on it (try with both the ca you have).
and see if there's life on your PC

[if it does not try to disassemble the hard drive too] and see the differences.

one piece of advice (I have a nb10-a-102, but I think that is the same) to remove the battery, unscrew one screw, but which? Close your take pc his face down with battery close to home, battery online "horizontal" u see 3 screw unscrew the screw in the Middle, and then you can remove your battery.

Sorry for BadEnglish

  • Cannot start OSs of HDD external USB on the Satellite NB10t-A-101

I'm unable to install Linux on the Satellite NB10t-A-101, because it does not allow to boot from USB or install other OSs.I tried to circumvent this way: (it came with pre-installed Windows 8).

    (1) turning off SecureBoot (which I did)
    (2) putting USB at the top of the list of starting the computer.

    But it does not work.

I have two HDD USB (a TPG, the other normal) partitioned and it s impossible for them starting with this model of Satellite. I m thinking to return it back to the store that I need to install/start several OSs.

    Hello

Great that you are using Linux on your PC!

You mention that you have disabled the secure boot.
It is very good. But you don't say anything about the startup mode and nothing about what Linux you try to start.

Most of the distros must support UEFI but that can't be true for each of them.
If you want Win8 dualboot with a Linux distro, so you need to active UEFI and able to start in this mode distribution.
If you use a late clone-Ubuntu, Fedora or OpenSuse, you should be fine!

Another clue could be to take the USB key and try to start another PC from him.
Which will give a clearer picture of where the problem lies: on your key or the compatibility of firmware NB10 & distro Linux of your choice.

If you try to boot from a USB - HDD, I'm afraid I'm a bit at a loss as I've never tested.

    I hope this helps!

  • Satellite NB10T-A-101 - mouse pad does not work

I have a touch screen for Toshiba Satellite NB10T-A-101, the touch screen works very well but I use mostly the mouse pad I find using the slider easier.

But recently my guarded cursor freezing for a second or two and then to spend once again, but now the mouse pad seems not working with the left and right click buttons work but not the touchpad.

I made sure the touchpad is enabled in the mouse settings, so I don't really know what to do now.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you

    Hello

Have Hmm you also checked the FN + F5 key combination?
This would enable and disable the touchpad as well.

But from my point of view, it would be possible that the touchpad module is malfunctioning.
I m thinking about the hardware malfunction because the touchpad buttons work and just touch the touch work area module doesn't correctly.

Usually, if the touchpad would be handicapped by any software, both; as well as the touch buttons does not work.

    Hello

I bought a new Toshiba Satellite NB10T-A-101 and want to improve performance by changing the HDD with a SSD and install windows Pro 8.1.

However, I am unable to boot from USB, it always mention:

I already disabled secure, used 5 + usb startup different sticks (work fine on other laptops).

  • On the Satellite P30-131 power problem

I have a power problem and I tried the process of elimination, but could do with help, I gave as much detail as possible and appreciate any help or advice.

This started a few weeks ago and seems to be deteriorating slowly.
I turned on the laptop and all 3 lights before the main power on fully charged battery light and light green...

I started noticing a few times when my power cord is plugged into the laptop that, without warning, the laptop switches to the battery power and also turns off power light, battery light turns off too but which may or may not happen, in any case the laptop is still on but now running on battery.

I then out of the supply cable and reconnected it hoping that power is restored, but it has no effect, I have to close then low laptop unplug then Pug back in and I get all 3 lights and then I can start.
Now, when I boot it does not always solve the problem and I can finish on a few seconds of starting battery.

Its certainly not the battery because it has a new battery replaced 12 months however, its either the adapter or the connection inside the laptop that plugs into the adapter.

The reason I think it is perhaps one of them is when the laptop going to battery, lead that is always plugged into laptop, I moved, and this can cause the return of t lights and also the laptop back in, power once again, but if I let go then it goes to the battery again one the light turns off. I also took the battery out and kicked and the laptop works but has lost the power sometimes when I moved it turned off my tour so I'm sure that it is related to the lead, but do not know if its internal or external.

    Any help or advice appreciated

    Thank you

What kind of help did you expect exactly?

    > Its certainly not the battery as it was a new battery replaced 12 months however, its either the adapter or the connection inside the laptop that plugs into the adapter.

It seems you have tested everything that could be tested using common control procedures, I think that more is not possible
I can provide also a few suggestions and I m coming to the conclusion that neither electronic power supply is not ok or your power adapter.
But I would tend to the first; electronic power supply.

    Hi aloum,.

    (a) what kind of mouse you are using?

    (b) the left button of the mouse seems to be stuck or it does not meet the click? This only happens with certain applications?

Step 1: Test the mouse on another computer or another mouse on the test computer

To determine whether the mouse or the computer is defective, follow these steps:

    1. test the mouse in question on a system that works, you know. If the problem appears to follow the mouse, you may need to return or replace the mouse.

2 test a mouse you know is working on the computer in question. If the problem seems to stay on the computer, then the problem is most likely related to the software.

In regard to the battery not holding charge

Battery problems are often associated with the battery itself. If you encounter this problem, contact your mobile PC manufacturer. If you purchased the battery separately from the notebook computer, contact the manufacturer of the battery.

  • possible power problem

    Hello

I have a desktop HP Pavilion 7865 has started to give me some power problems.  I followed the troubleshooting steps to

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph06788#n414

The first time it's happened that I noticed that the power light little would go as I connect the power cord to the back of the unit.  But the little green light and then returned.  After some tests, the power light remained on and I was able to turn on the pc.  However, it started again this morning so I finally took my monitor power cord and used this one to connect the power supply to the back of the computer and to a power outlet and it works.  I plug the pc power cord into the monitor and my monitor works too so I don't know if it is or is not the power cord, but I'll go out and get a new one and see if that solves all my problems.

However, my question is this... If the problem is with the power supply that I plug in can be replaced?  If so, it is something I can do myself or should I consider somewhere to do?  Also, if I need to replace the power supply and I can do it, how can I know what type of replacement power supply unit power I need to get and are there any other cables that I also need?

Thank you so much for all your help.

  • Problem starting the BIOS NB10t-A-101

I just bought a NB10t to the United Kingdom and try to boot to a bootable USB key

I noticed that the BIOS on this particular model is UEFI mode only, which, in itself, is not a problem because users can sign their own operating systems with a certification authority and use them, but this laptop refuses to boot from any external environment... or even to provide an error message.

I changed boot priority in the BIOS and USB moved up
I disabled the Secure Boot option in the BIOS
I tried all 3 USB ports as well as 3 different drives (NOTE: THESE WORK FINE ON the 3 OTHER SYSTEMS, a dell desktop/laptop computer and a computer acer laptop)
I also tried different distributions (Debian & Arch)
I used several installation methods (hard install of Unetbootin/Full/Rufus etc...)
I tried all your currently released BIOS versions (delivery with V1.0, V1.1 - Jan Feb - V1.2)

After trying all these when you press F12 at startup, the shows start menu but when you select a device, the system continues to initiate (Win8) HARD drive
After Googling around, I noticed that you have unlocked 2 BIOS updates I tried all versions of these and still the system refuses to boot in my selected device

Can we expect more updates of the firmware in the near future? Is there a way to work around this problem to start my chosen OS? Is there an option of CSM?

The laptop can be started from an external source such as USB flash memory stick but make sure of a few important points:
    A few tips:

1 - USB key must be in the right port (USB2).
2 - USB key must be UEFI-bootable (a Debian or Ubuntu, Installer copied on the USB stick with 'dd', is very well).
3 - Bootloader file must be named boot/bootx64.efi (again, a picture of the Debian or Ubuntu installer will be already OK).
4 - now try the ESC key before and during hit the power button, to select the boot device.

    Hello world

Who can help me, I have two doubts. The first is, I don't always get on three messages when it starts. Will take you to my second problem. The power mangement. It is said 'E-Power Power Management' when I click ok, another message comes to say, '... No data. The Toshiba Power Mgmt system is no longer appearing in the Notification bar. It does not work.

What can I do about these difficulties?
    Thank you

    Dejen

    Hello

You forget to mention what are the names of the dll-files :). But still, even with the names he cannot drive anywhere. First suggestion: run a full! ScanDisk on your primary partition (usually drive c :)). The lost files could come from the fact that your data are damaged somehow. Second, try to uninstall the Add/REMOVE program section powersaver module in the control panel. After you have uninstalled, try to install again.

    Good luck

  • Satellite L30-101 power up used

I have a L30-101 which has unstable power supply problem.

Sometimes it will start without effort. Once I press the power button, load cookies and wifi will be off and the power light will flash briefly, after that a few seconds, the load and wifi lights will be rekindled and I can try again. Finally, if it is not started, the light goes off and that's all.

another time if I push the button for a few seconds, it will start or freeze as noted above.

To try again, the only way is to remove the (new) battery and the power cable.

Also, I tried to hold the power button down for 30 seconds with the battery cables and power removed as a forum sudgested it discharging the capacitors on the motherboard. Sometimes, it works. Sometimes it doesn't.

If I have apart and put back together, it works. (but that's a bit excessive. So unless he can sprout wings very quickly, it's life may be limited).

All these answers are the same whether on the supply cable, battery only or both.

    I'm starting to loose patience...

Your described problems looks like a motherboard failure.
I have no other explanation for that matter.

I mean it s not a problem of battery from the laptop must turn on correctly just connected to the AC adapter only.

I put t think the related issue of RAM because in this case the laptop must turn on not even for a second or the system freezes after widows started upward.

Satellite L30 is slightly older unit so it can be possible to this motherboard is the troublemaker.

  • Power Mac G5 power problems...

Hello, on a quest to find a G5 computer, I found an early 2005 Power Mac G5 (2x2.7GHz). The first time I plugged it in and turned on, it works beautifully. The second time, I pressed the power button and heard a loud noise from the power supply. I replaced and this is what is happening now:

When I plug the power cable in, there is a small clicking noise about a second after plugging in, and the power led on the front of the machine flashes for the click. However, it does not at all depend on when I press the power button. When I unplug the cable, it makes the same noise about a second after I unplug the unit. I see a pale glow of the light output after unplugging it.

Anyone have any suggestions to solve this problem? It is part of a collection, that's why I want to do operational.

There may be defective capacitors or other power supply problems, including

overheating in the dust inside the power supply or air channels. And

If the device is cooled by liquid, other things may be involved.

Since all the PowerMac G5 power supplies are considered to be custom,.

to get a good replacement is a way hoped to improve the situation.

Unlikely as is, actually an inexpensive job.
