Need of firewire ENVY h8-1549

Just realized that my DESIRE h8-1549 is not a firewire port. Can you tell me what kind of card I need to get to install one on my system?

Thank you

Vanceld, welcome to the forum.

This is a PCI Express x 1 card Firewire that should work for you:

  • HP Envy H8-1549: computer doesn't recognize only half of the new Ram

    Hi all.

I took a set of ram Ripjaws X 32 gig (4 x 8).  When I install all four chips, only half of them are recognized by the Bios. If I remove two, both of which have not been recognized are visible and working in the same locations they were. It all works, but not all.

    RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231569

Everything I read on my motherboard and ram has indicated that it is compatible. I updated the Bios and erased the CMS.  I'm a bit of a loss. Am I missing something fundamental?

What is a tension problem? If so, how can I send it?

RAM is usually such an easy upgrade. Not so much this time, it seems to me.

  • Satellite L10: Need compatible firewire PC card

Bought a Toshiba Satellite L10 in June 2005. Didn't know much then, but I told the seller that I wanted a phone that allows me in the future to buy a mini DV camcorder, and then transfer movies on the laptop and make my own films.

After I finally buy a camcorder and make a few films now, I noticed that the laptop has no port for a firewire cable. The so-called IEEE 1394 port does not exist on this computer.

There is an empty slot of the PC card on the laptop that has the following specifications according to the manual,
A PC card slot that corresponds to a 5 mm type II card. Possible to use a 16-bit PC card and CardBus PC card.

Y at - it a PC card on the market that I could buy and install that would allow me to then transfer movies from my camcorder in digital format of the source.

Today, I have to solve the problem by going around it and send the video and audio output with analog cables using a Dazzle DVD Recorder box that transfers to digital format, and then via a USB port to the computer.

But I'm afraid I'm losing the quality of the data on movies by doing this, if this is possible I'd be very happy to know.

    Thanks for helping out

    Hello

All standard PCIe cards will be fit on any standard PCIe slot. Your machine has 3 slots, you can put in one of them.

  • FireWire compatibility

I need to know if there is a firewire which can connect to two Mac models that are 10 years apart. My iMac, bought in January 2007, has finally konked off. It lights correctly. I am able to turn it on BUT it remains in the initial start-up when the screen remains white and the timer/cursor guard spinning wheel. I talked to Apple staff on the phone and ive been told I need to follow a few steps to make the old mac act as a HD just to save a few remaining files. I have to use a firewire for this port. Unfortunately, I didn't also changed the firewires. The one I have is 2007 type and incompatible with the latest model.  Ive looked around, but it is hard to tell from the pictures if that's the question I need. So the problem is what can do or what firewire can I use to connect 2 computers?

  • Compatable Firewire card?

Hey guys, I'm really stuck! I need a firewire card for a new PC (HP - Pavilion p6-2302eam desktop PC) to make it compatible with my focusrite saffire pro 14. I already tried this card and the conectors were too big: FIREWIRE 400 - IEEE1394a - TEXAS INSTRUMENTS - TI DOUBLE CHIPSET PCI CARD.

PC World said that it is and that I should avoid getting a card "low profile." I can't find an online support or after having had several telephone calls with different techniques to support teams.

Does anyone have experience with this kind of thig? If so, please help! Thank you

The motherboard in your new PC can accept as PCIex1 firewire cards.

Here is a link to the cards you have purchase options that will fit in your PC.

You can see that they are short connectors compared to the standard PCI connector that yours has.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/ProductList.aspx?submit=Ene & N =-1 & IsNodeId = 1 & Description = % 20firewire % 20card PCIe & Bop = and & Order = Rating & PageSize = 20

They do not have to keep a low profile, but do need to agree in the connector. Don't get one that isn't a standard mounting bracket.  These photo have before all the bracket that correspond to your PC.

Do not buy those that have a mounting bracket short research.

Here is a picture of the motherboard of your PC. You must install the card in one of these 3 little parallel black slots at the bottom of the image.

  • CAN A FIREWIRE 1394 CARD BEING ADDED to MY HP p2-1113w

I HAVE LOOKED INSIDE BUT DO NOT SEE A PLACE ON THE MOTHERBOARD TO INSERT A NEITHER CAN FIND A PLACE WHERE THE PORTS COULD BE EXPOSED TO THE OUTSIDE FOR USE. I NEED A FIREWIRE PORT FOR MY DV CAMCORDER.

Unfortunately, a card can be added to your desktop PC.

You can buy a usb converter to 1394, which should meet your needs for firewire.

  • I'm trying to interconnect a XP home and a XP Pro with a Firewire 1394 through a Maxtor One Touch 4 Plus HARD drive cable to share the HARD drive and also run a home network.

Is it possible for me to take the files of XP Home that has installed 1394 controller and use the 4 files that I found marked 1394 in I386 to form the controller on my XP Pro, more driver 1394 in \WINDOWS\System32\DRIVERS to close the loop and enable the ethernet connection both 1394 on both computers to have two computers connected to the Maxtor One Touch 4 Plus as well as HARD drive the network. I was hoping maybe even replace the ethernet cable and use the connection 1394 through the Maxtor which has several types of connectors on it.  Again, I am trying to install a controller 1394 on a computer that has no 1394, than USB 2.0. so that the XP Pro machine will recognize the 1394 card with my home XP firewire cable to the Maxtor HDD which it is already connected to the XP Pro via USB 2.0? I have you confused yet?

I found a post of S.W. video dated the 05/01/11, which has been handled by Gokul T and treated with the Firewire cable and video on a newer operating system, so I thought I would test Gokul T or someone else to resolve this situation. I couldn't find a controller IEEE 1394 I could just download and install on my XP Pro machine. These are the two Dell, is an inspiron 5100 with installed 1394 with taking and the GX280 is one without the 1394 controller installed, or the socket.

You will need a firewire to XP Pro card. The drivers are already on the hard drive. Once the card is installed, you will see the icon of the network for this adapter. So you can use it.

The reason why there is no 1394 net adapter on XP Pro is now, because there is no firewire card

  • What kind of cable I need to transfer video to computer with a Sony Handycam CCD-TRV66

I guess I need a firewire cable again. I'll transfer the video footage from my Sony video Hi8 Handycam Vision CCD TRV68 NTSC FOR memories of home software. I'm wonderin what kind of cable, I need exactly to do that thank you.

    Hi chrnko,

While they inspected on the ports of the camcorder, it has no port or to transfer your files directly to a computer. The CCDTRV68 is not an iLink or USB port that you can use for this purpose. The only way to transfer your files from tape would use the A / V cable. You can connect a DVD recorder to convert them into disks.

  • Pavilion G5470SC Firewire and Win 7 compatibility?

Hello, I am the proud owner of a Win7 64 bit desktop G5470SC kit, works very well, but as I will do a little bit with Pinnacle Studio to transfer some old movies my Panasonic GS120 camcorder (ca 2004) DV - I need a firewire adapter. This computer model doesn't have one as standard.

A Firewire/IEEE card is cheap here in Sweden, ca 20 USD, BUT I understand that this computer only has positions available housing for what is called PCI Express cards? I am considering buying the cards have standard PCI, not express. Did someone knows the difference and I can get a PCI card into a slot Express?  If this isn't the case, I'd appreciate some advice on compatible PCI Express FireWire cards that can work with the computer under Win 7 x 64.

    Best regards

    Olof

Cards like these according to Newegg.com should give you a good start. Of course, you will need to find a local retailer or online source.

  • My h8 - 1027c has a firewire port?

I bought a h8 - 1027c at Costco and it doesn't seem to have a firewire port.  or does?

I need to transfer my DV tapes on my h8 - 1027c but I can't because of the absence of firewire port.

    Hello

The map you linked to is a PCI card and unfortunately, your motherboard doesn't have this type of accommodation - there a PCI Express x 16, that is mainly used for a map graphic and three PCI Express x 1 slots (black 3 small horizontal slots to the bottom left of your motherboard ) so you will need a firewire expansion card that corresponds to this type of slots as previously I've linked to.

    Kind regards
