  Try a reboot.

  Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

  I am a rural small repair shop and received a HP/Compaq Presario CQ60-615DX to repair the loss of function of the keyboard and the touchpad. My first thought was that the Ribbon connectors came loose. However, when I first turned it on, the keyboard worked to enter the Windows password. Once started, the keyboard would not work. My client had a major sale/repair company and their solution was to install a keyboard on the screen and use a wireless mouse. It wasn't on the outer label, so I removed the battery. I reinstalled the battery and was amazed to find that both keynoard and touchpad work now.

  What could have caused this loss of function and why would be to remove and reinstall the battery solve this problem?

  It's probably that the battery actually acted as a hard reset.  A hard reset has the effect to remove remaining current EEPROM and other devices on the motherboard.

I think it happened when the battery died while in a Word doc. computer is turned off. Plugged. Turned, password screen appears, could not type anything in the box. The mouse works. My keyboard and the touchpad are locked, do not respond. Restarted, no help. Pulled the battery, no help. At least I can use the keyboard to the screen!  Thanks for your help.

  Did a restore of the system and all is well! Went back 3 days of the last update of windows. I hope this helps others!

  If you watch a movie, I would recommend ensuring that no other application works (apart from the basic such as Messages, home, telephone, BBM and browser apps).  You can do this by pressing the menu button to see what applications are running and enter each of them to close in now the back button, or by pressing Menu > close/exit.  In addition, for best performance, disable all network connections.

  If the BlackBerry is your film treatment and trying to deal with other tasks in the background, this could cause some lag in the audio synchronization.

  After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

  I just bought the Z10t A 13V PT 141, with W8.1. This computer works fine on W8, but I want to install W10. I already tried 3 times but each time, the cursor (with the touch pad or mouse) is lagging behind, each movement is jerky and works very well. I tried to see if it was a driver problem and downloaded new drivers from Toshiba for the W10.

  I did the same thing with Intel drivers, but for graphics drivers, there is an error message: "a custom computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel driver update utiliy is not able to update the driver. Install a generic Intel driver instead of the driver from the computer manufacturer custom can cause technical problems. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.

  When I'm with W8, drivers are correctly updated...

  So I think that the cursor problem is due to this driver problem (I hope so, but I'm not sure). What is the solution? I'M alone with this problem?

  EXACTLY the same problem here with my uograded Portege Z10t-A-140 to WIN 10.
  I also took the same steps and encountered the same problems and no solution.
  I find Toshiba after sale customer VERY INEFFECTIVE and disappointing, because it seems no way to get a support PROFESSIONAL from Toshiba on this issue (or any other for that matter).
  Note that I absolutely do not consider helping other users on a forum or self-help a form of professional support at all!
