• Mapped drives are not available. Machines inaccessible area. Can ping from command prompt.

  Working in a Windows domain.  Have a 150 machines in the field.  Now, a single machine seems to have lost the authority to communicate.  This machine was a member of the domain for more than a year and has gained access to these places and several times of the mapped drives.  It's a user's machine, so not sure what may happen before this started.

  At the moment the machine is connected to the network.  I can browse internet fine (internet accessed through the default gateway).  At the command prompt I can ping machines on the domain by ip or name.  Both work very well.

  Can I use remote desktop to connect to other computers on the domain.

  What I can't see all the drives mapped or access the domain computers via Windows Explorer.  When I try to access a mapped drive (accessible by everyone) I gat an error message.  "The location is not available.

  When I try to select a machine in the field of windows Explorer I get 'open folder '.  \\XXXXX is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.  The specified network provider name is invalid.

  Tried this as multiple users.  Not the specific profile.  Tried under the Domain Admin and get the same error.

  Search error messages and found many solutions.  None worked.

  1 - removed from the field and joined.

  2 - disabled and enabled network card.

  3. cannot remove adapter, laptop.

  4 - withdrawn from the area, has changed its name, joined.

  5. deleted and added customer network Ms.

  6 checked svc of workstation was running.

  7 disabled the Windows Firewall.

  8. multiple antivirus scans run.

  9 - set network security: LAN authentication level manager' to 'Send LM and NTLM responses &'.»

  It has been like this since at least 8 Safari. It's that something ordered by Google. Safari displays the compass if you change the user agent for Chrome or Firefox.

  If you want to see the 3D option, go to Safari-> Preferences-> advanced and enable the option "see her develop menu in the menu bar. Then go into the menu to point and select "Google Chrome" or "Firefox".

  We have implemented the scenario like that, but we can not activate the firewall option, that option remains grayed out depending on the attached screenshot.

  If we turn on the DHCP service, VM perimeter firewall is created, but even in this case the firewall option in the interface VCD remains grayed out.

  Firewall/routing options will become available when your VAPP network is "patched" to the Organization's network.  You can configure it by going to the networking of your VAPP tab and selecting a network of organizations in the connection drop-down list.  Without having to set up a connection, your network of vApp is only available inside your VAPP and only the DHCP of the on-board equipment features.

  I have a VI of logging data on my PC that gathers data from several sources, including several shared variable published network hosted on an RT target.

  Thanks for getting back to me on that.

  I'm sorry to learn this method 1 and 2 that time has failed for you. The Microsoft removal tool should not ask for the number of 38 digits, so don't worry that. You could remove the printer if it had indicated in the populated list. However, the good news is, because the printer has failed to display in the list of drivers and software to uninstall your windows computer that your computer is not actually see the product installed. This could be a key to 'ghost' in your registry causing the printer display, but not really "being" there.

  What I recommend is to temporarily ignore the copy of the printer which shows in the devices folder and printers and rather take the step that I provided you on "How to install" in the previous post.

  Let me know if the software and drivers for your printer will allow you to install from scratch. Reinstallation can correct the "ghost" of your printer showing copy. However, if you end up with two copies of the printer, then I'll see if we can manually delete this another way.

• Command not available via SSH?

  Hi all:

  is there a difference when I SSH into ESX host using a regular user account (since ESX does not root to be SSH'ed in default without changing the configuration file)

  I needed to restart the service so I typed

  restart vmware-mgmt services

  for example

  the SSH session (I did a root able to run the command as root) recongize used this command but in the ESX Server console, it is allowed

  am I suppose to have some changes in access within the SSH or what needs to be done

  These newspapers are specific to the ESX Server and is in the SC, hostd.log will probably be the most helpful when you try to add the host and might get an idea about what is the question.

  You can do the following before try again you:

  tail -f /var/log/vmware/hostd.log
  

  This will allow you to communicate with the host and vCenter, if there is in fact... a few keystrokes back before trying again then paste that here. You can do the same for the other newspapers by settling perhaps the last 30 40lines if there is nothing of obvious on what maybe causing the problem. There are moments where it takes a restart of the vCenter service, which could be a last resort, I had to go this way sometimes.

• Sharing of active command not available for users

  I searched all day for some reason why my non-admin in Contribute 3 users can't insert images via the Insert-> option of Division of property. The command is dimmed. Their role permissions have "authorize unlimited edition", so I can't understand why they would be excluded from this shared good feature. I REALLY want to give these users full administrator privileges. They become tired to rerun new connection key everytime I try to chance a new setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  It seems that by disabling the ability of the user to insert images (with the exception of shared property) is the way to go. As long as an administrator I was spoiled as I can insert images any way I chose (insert--> images, cut-and - paste and shared property). As a normal user, it's one or the other, either shared assets or Insert--> Images, not both.

  So in order to give users the ability to access shared property, you must go and set "Allow unrestricted editing" then check the option 'prevent users to insert images. After that they activate the connection key it then only allows them to insert images in active sharing feature.

  I have windows 7 with office 2010 and when I try to say commands, such as select Word or correct the word or ordering another new paragraph I receive a message of this command is not available now... when it will be available? also, when dictating a sentence, if I stop it capitalizes the next word in mid-sentence... How can I fix that? and don't forget that I can't use the exact word or select Word... it took me twice as long to make this letter with speech recognition, of the type just...   The solution to your problem is to click the speech recognition microphone, first before you open Word.  Once the speech recognition is started, right-click it, click options, select Notepad of dictation and then open Word.  If you do it in this order, everything should work correctly in Word.  Notepad will not come to the top.  The command everything will work directly in Word itself.  If you open Word first before the speech recognition and do not have Notepad - "command not available" will come.  I hope this helps.

  Please help me - I have a problem with the networking in vCloud Director.

  When I try to specify grouping of network when creating organization vDC, it shows the empty box

  I created pool network before, but it is not available in this dialog box.

  Also I see some strange things: when I created provider VDC and pool network selected, it shows me all the available networks

  First screenshot shows you have no network at all pool, either you have a pool of network, but it is not available for the selected provider VDC. For example, if you create a VIRTUAL LAN or network supported by VCDNI pool, then the vdSwitch for the pool of network must be accessible by the servers of the provider VDC you selected for org VDC.

  In Windows 7, multiple drive letters are not available to map network drives.  e: by j: are missing.  How can I fix?

  Drive letters are assigned to other devices, probably the USB card readers.

  You can change the assignment of drive letters in disk management if you want.
