Network not appearing is not on Linux (Ubuntu 13.10)

Product: Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 GHz 54Mbps Broadband router WRT54G v.4

OS: Ubuntu 13.10 on Samsung N150 Netbook - works when wired router, but not wireless

OS: Windows 7 on PC Lenovo Windows 7 - does not have same cable in

Worked very well for more than a year, but all of a sudden the network has disappeared from the list wireless this afternoon.

Make sure that the drivers are up-to-date on the Windows PC. Clearly all the networks collect and previously used the WiFi profiles and then set it up again. Maybe uninstall and reinstall all the drivers WiFi/LAN.

Factory reset the router and set up from scratch.

    Hello mmccurdy,

Thank you for your message. But due to the fact that I use Ubuntu 15.04 in 32-bit version, it is not possible to install the bundle - x 64 drive.

After searching a few other items, I found the solution now (you can find the entire instructions under http://rglinuxtech.com/?p=1281

    First steps:

    cURL http://pastie.org/pastes/9934018/downloadhttp://pastie.org/pastes/9934018/download o /tmp/vmnet-3.19.patch

    CD/usr/lib/vmware/modules/source

    tar - xf vmnet.tar

    patch - p0-i /tmp/vmnet-3.19.patch

After changing driver.c and userif.c, it is necessary to change too NETIF. C in the vmnet-only folder as follows (see original under http://rglinuxtech.com/?p=1184)

    all about line 152:
    dev = alloc_netdev (sizeof * netIf, deviceName, VNetNetIfSetup);
    to do this:
    dev = alloc_netdev (sizeof * netIf, deviceName, NET_NAME_UNKNOWN, VNetNetIfSetup);

Complete the changes to the file are VMNET-ONLY. Now the final stages:

    MV vmnet.tar vmnet.tar.SAVED

    tar - cf vmnet.tar vmnet-only

    RM - r vmnet-only

    VMware-modconfig - console - install-all

    then VMwarePlayer works very well.

    Used with:

    Linux ubuntu 3.19.0 - 17-generic #17 - Ubuntu SMP Wed May 6 16:46:32 UTC 2015 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux

That's your problem.  You will need to determine which makes your wireless card, go to their website and download the latest driver for 64-bit Windows 7 32 0r according to your material.  If its inbult to your computer, visit vender of your computer (HP, Toshiba, etc) for the correct driver.

  • Network not found

    Printer: OfficeJet 4500 Wireless (CQ663A)

    OS: Windows 7

    Router: Netgear824v3

    Channel: 6

    Type: Infrastructure

Mode: Automatic 108Mbps (selection automatic b/g)

    Security: WPA - PSK

    SSID broadcast: enabled

    Question: network not found.

two week, Samsung laptop computer (Win7) is located on the network.

5 months Dell desktop (Win 7) is on the network.

    1 # PS3 connects to the network

    2 # PS3 connects to the network

    Wii connects to the network

OfficeJet will not find the network.  He finds my neighbors, but not a network for my SSID.

I repositioned the OfficeJet 15 feet from the router, 6 inches between the router and into another room of the router.  I've moved or shut down wireless devices, speakers, etc., to identify/avoid interference.  I'm confused: why the printer will not detect my SSID broadcast.  It allows to identify the type of secutirty (WPA - PSK TKIP or AES), but can't find my network.  Ridiculous!

I downloaded, installed a ran HP Network Diagnostic Utility.  He said that the network is fine.  It lists the printer on its own network "hpsetup" but the printer can't find my network to connect when I run USB setup or manual configuration or the wireless Assistant.

    Any help would be great.

It is certainly strange.  Here are a few ideas:

    1. starting at the front of the printer: Setup > network > wireless network Test.  This will be the radio automatic test to make sure it's OK.

    2. open your Netgear router (type 192.168.1.1 in a browser address bar).  Make sure it has the latest firmware.

    3. While you're here, change the channel to 11.

    Hello Purplehaze412,

Thank you for your message.  What kind of microphone do you have?  It's USB or it plug into the microphone as the speakers or headphones port?
    If it uses the headphone:
Click "Start" > click on "Control Panel" > double-click "sounds and Audio devices".
    Select the tab "Audio".
Under "Sound recording" you can change the default device?
If it is USB, try the following:
Click 'Start' > right click on 'My computer' > select 'manage '.
    Select "Device Manager".
Double-click "USB" - remove your device microphone, remove the microphone, then plug it back to recognize.

  • "Network not found" when installing software, but I'm already on the internet!

I have problems installing the software. Downloads fine, connection to the Internet is wonderful, but when I try to install anything, I get these messages - "network not found. I have tried everything I know reset IE8, uninstall programs that I tried to install, checked and rechecked my connection (have an excellent connection every time I get this message). • Change the default profile for networks not identified in the register.

Hi, I recently installed a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. Recently, I tried to share files on a network computer to computer without router. I ran into problems with this, however, because Windows will just recognized here a network not identified, set its profile to the public and turn off sharing. I am aware that the default profile is editable through the local security policy editor, but being on the House, I am unable to access it, so my question is this:

Is there a way to change settings of network profile for networks unidentified somehow outside the local security policy editor? (via the registry)?

    Hi Konaa,

    1. Click Start, type Regedit

    2. find hklm:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    3. find your network card adapter and create a dword value named "* NdisDeviceType" and change the value between 0 and 1 and enable/disable network cards.

    You can also try this:

    1. the Registry Editor open, if you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {GUID}

This registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the card network that is connected to the network.

    3. on the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.

    4. in the new area #1, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and press ENTER.

DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle click 5.right, and then click on edit.

    6. in the value data box, type 1 and then click OK.

    7. close the registry editor.

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

I'm looking for help with my network using a host of win7 with two adapters. One connected to the router and DSL modem for internet - the installer is ICS. The other connected to a local network with a bunch of different systems Win (XP to 8.1) - this network tells the host as 'unidentified network', so I can't change it to "work". All systems can access the internet but a system of communication does not work unless I have change 'public' to enable all the. Please tell us how to fix the status of 'unidentified network '.

Using a manually assigned IP address can cause this to happen.  A workaround possible (if your Windows 7 host is running professional or Ultimate) must change the mode of unknown network 'The work' instead of 'Public '.  To do this:

    1. Press [Windows] + [R], type "secpol.msc" and press [Enter].
    2. Go to the list of political network manager.
    3. In the right pane, double-click unidentified networks.
    4. Set the type of place private (this corresponds to the 'work').
    5. Set user permissions to that user can change the location.

Please note that this will make Windows by default to enable file sharing on networks not identified so that you probably don't want to do it on a laptop computer that can connect to the different networks.  However, this should be good for a desktop computer which is going nowhere and is wired to a single network.  Windows should continue to ask (and remember) type of network for wireless networks.

  • Network not identified in Windows 7 Ultimate error

I brought my laptop (a Dell Inspiron 1545 running Win7 Ultimate Edition) sleep tonight to find out the formidable network no error identified to connect to wireless networks. (The others are able to connect to the same network without problem). I took the following measures to solve the problems:

Network resets (netsh int ip reset, netsh winsock reset, netsh advfirewall reset), don't reboot, no good
Reinstalling the WIRELESS card driver (also not confirmed any newer driver version), don't reboot, no good
Network card wireless confirmed the acquisition value of IP/DNS by w/IPv4 DHCP information
Stop the Bonjour service, not good
    Hello uninstalled, reboot, not good
Uninstalled VMWare Player and virtual adapter associated, reboot, not good
Run the network, not good troubleshooting
System Restore ran for a couple of days before the problem occurred (so resettlement of what above), not good
Minimum by http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135, not good boot

I'm full of ideas here. Any help?

I had exactly the same thing with my Acer 5342 G.  I did everything you did, and I was getting really frantic when on a whim, I uninstalled my McAfee anti virus suite.  Problem solved immediately.  the hardest part now is get McAfee to own up to the fact that it might be their software.  I'm not sure this will help, but I really hope it does.

For more information visit: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work properly

Method 2: Try resetting the TCP/IP stack.

To reset the stack TCP/IP go to this article and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357 .

If the same problem still persists, then try the next method.
