• Get information about the file from a network server

  I need to keep some files sync would be between a cRIO and a network server. I would query the server for file sizes, then I can compare file sizes with local cRIO and FTP files on all files that are not current. For the local computer (cRIO), I can use the "file Info" function of pallets. Hoping that I can use the same function to query the network server, but do not know how it works; the IP address of the server is part of the path to the file? If so, what is the syntax for that? If this does not work, or if there is a better way, how would I go on this subject?

• Windows Vista is not mapped network drives on a network server

  I set up a home network server which I can access and map drives on a Windows7 and Windows XP computer on the network.  However, I can't do it from my Windows Vista computer.   The vista PC can find and configure the server through its IP address, but it does not appear on the topic of network and sharing.  The network is set to private, all parameters are checked to allow sharing and access and the server is on the same workgroup.  Any ideas on what prevents Windows Vista map server readers?

Two of us upgraded to 10.10.5 and now Photoshop and InDesign do not open files from the network server, or save files on the server - Illustrator and Acrobat will be. We can copy files from the server back to our offices. This sounds like a problem of permissions with Photoshop and InDesign, but do not know how to change. We use CC 2015 versions of the software.

  Just upgraded to InDesign CS5. When I export a PDF document and post on network server, it becomes invisible. I don't know this because when I exporter export on my desktop, and then drag in the network folder, it gives me an error message that it cannot replace an invisible file. So I found a way to display the file invisible, trashed it, then led one on my desktop in the network folder. Worked well. I would prefer not to have to do this EVERY time I have export to PDF. Someone at - it experience with this issue? Help?

  I think I found the answer. On the mac who has had this problem connect the shared drive/server was using Apple file Protocol (AFP) instead of the SMB protocol. Once we changed the connection to this AFP in SMB server all our Mac computers can save directly to the server and files are visible. I hope this helps.

However, when I open the file on the network server and try to create a link, the default file browser in the Documents directory on my local Mac system. So I click 6 clicks to enter the correct network directory. This occurs for each link.   Oh! Gotcha! Yep, that's how it works on my Mac. Rather boring.

  It might be better/easier just drag the link icon to your site window for

  I'm trying to adapt Windows to my new MacBook Pro with OS El Capitan.

  I work remotely for a company and I want to connect my Mac to the server of the company.

  My question is how to connect a MAc to a network drive with the permanently available connection.  For example, in my old HP I went to my computer / connection to a network drive. I've selected a letter and note the name of the server that I wanted to be connected to. The connection was then shown with my other drive hard 'sections '; I want to say C:, D: (for recovery), e: (for tools) and then connecting to the external server has been shown with the selected letter.

  There is no "letter" under OS X. It's a hangover very old of BACK, devices of mapping and volumes labeled mailbox.

  If you are connected to your corporate network, you should see the available network volumes listed in the Finder, in ' my computer > network ", or with the command K to connect to a server.

• Why is-internet and network server

  When online on my Macbook Air, I often find internet connection dropped and research in Network preferences / help / diagnosis, I find server and Internet keys shown yellow status. I can almost always reconnect easily by clicking on continue and re - select the wireless network (a 5 Ghz one, but the same problem exists with my network no 5 Ghz), then I click on option to allow Network Diagnostics key to the network selected in my keychain.

  This often works very well in a few seconds, so not a big deal but sometimes very annoying because it can occur several times in a short period or during a day, and then not at all for hours or days, but often it's almost every day.

  Here is a list of equipment etc:

  MacBook Air 10.10.5, Imac 10.10.5, VirginMedia superhub, Airport Extreme (in bridged mode), Airport Express (closer), Apple TV (often disabled) iPhone 6s.

  Problem is really only apparent on Macbook Air, iMac has (if Wifi also in operation usually) ethernet connection. iPhone6 seems to have no problem with wifi internet at home or elsewhere.

  I quite often other problems in my Wifi system, however, recently, especially when you use Apple TV, Airport Extreme and Express and modem even falling Airport utility, which I always managed to correct later in various restarts and resets. But the preceding is the most frequent being almost a daily reality at least once or twice.

  I tried to choose different channels in Airport utility for Airport Extreme and Express networks, but this made the incredibly slow connection (normally it is 36 Mbps on Macbook). I also disabled IPv6 on all devices (or put the link-local), and this seemed to help with the problem of the Apple TV appears to have had no effect on this.

  I also disabled Bluetooth on Macbook while writing this, but the problem has happened several times already.

  This happened to my wife (for me) for awhile now.  I had not thought to check this forum until now. We have Airport Extreme in Bridge connected to Comcast cable modem mode (not sure of the brand/model right now) and the connection features include retina Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, iPhone 2 6, iPad, iPad 2 Air Air, not to mention a number of non-Apple devices.  It is the problem most often on MacBookAir and iPad Air.  Turns off WiFi for a few seconds, then turn it back on again and then it works OK.  This seems to occur several times a day and could happen just after awakening from a sleeping device.

  All devices are up to the latest version of iOS and Mac OS x

  Another issue that could be related have to do with the Airport Express in "Client" mode  Set up to provide wired ethernet port for a device far the main router.  Note that in this mode, it is not (supposed to be) providing a wifi signal, just in its port ethernet access.  It seems to work, but quite often, maybe once a day, he kills wifi in its immediate vicinity.  If I'm in the room with him and lose the wifi then go to a location close to the main router I'm back online again.

  I would like ideas or cures that anyone might have on any of these problems.

  I am able to connect if I use Chrome.  I've given up trying with Safari.  I don't know if it's really a matter of bowser, but I had a similar problem a few months ago.

• Small network server

  I have a small network to a nonprofit food pantry. Eight clients workstations w/Windows 10 installed. Connections all run through a switch to the workstation used as the server. The workstation server has Windows 7. Is there a downside to let Windows 7 on the server, or would it be better to upgrade to Windows 10 also.

  There is no network software. Workstations see the server via ethernet through the switch cables to the Windows 7 computer.

  I need to answer this question to the Board of Directors non-profit organization of Directors.

  I have no problem to let Windows 7 on the server.  Windows 7 will be supported extended through 01/14/2020.

  Because this computer may seem critical to your operation, I would be reluctant to be updated without any particular reason to do so, because it is not a risk free action.  I would first make a backup of the complete picture.

  I have been using my Windows 7 Home Edition premium on a network including Server 2003 and two machines on XP.
  It worked for a year already, no problem.
  Now, on Monday morning, I start my Windows 7 and the user name or password is not accepted and there is no way I can connect to files on the server?  What's wrong?
  I connect XP machines without problem, but Win7 does NOT work.
  Any ideas?

• Network server - listed indicators interfaces?

  I have 2 servers that are very similar, that is running Windows Server 2003 and for a server, I have a lot of surveillance measures more available for the Interface of network than the other server.  The server does not display statistics of error and the server I need that data for because it's ability and with communication problems.
  
  Please see the pictures attached, if someone can help me to get the additional settings available on the other server, so I can follow the errors that would be great.

  On the computer that is missing the metrics, if you click on the 'show the metric' does show the metric lack active and having a collection interval?

  If so, check the agent log on this computer for any errors of collection of these measures.
