Network takes 1-2 minutes to establish a connection

I just bought an SSD drive, my computer starts up real quick, but my internet connection takes forever to establish a connection (on a wired connection). During this time can not open a Web browser. I tried to go through the control panel and tried the msconfig startup method (off almost all programs)... nothing works. It was not always like this and the only thing that I can remember installation before that happened was when I installed a VPN progam which I uninstalled since then. I looked for a solution for hours.

Hi Mister Chad,

1. do you get any error code or message while trying to connect to the Internet?

2. what security software is installed on the computer?

3. are you able to access Web sites using another browser?

Networks rely on complex technology, in order to diagnose the cause of a network problem can often be a difficult task. For example, if you are unable to access a Web site, you will see an error message, but the message may not necessarily very useful since it will not usually identify the exact problem. The problem may be caused by a number of problems with your computer, the web server or the network between your computer and the web server.

You may encounter network or problems of Internet in Windows for several reasons. Some common problems that can cause these problems are:

·         A wireless network adapter switch that is not enabled.

·         WEP, WPA, or WPA2 key or password security issues.

·         Cables that are not connected correctly.

·         Corrupt or incompatible drivers.

·         Missing updates.

·         Network connection settings.

·         Hardware or software problems.

Follow these methods.

Method 1.

Convenience store network in Windows 7 provides a way for anyone diagnose and fix network problems.

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum.

I understand that the process of starting your computer is slow. Let me ask you a few questions to better understand.

    1. What security software do you use?
    2. You did it all meaning hardware or software change?
    3. You get the error message? If Yes, when and what is the exact error message?

I suggest that you perform a clean boot procedure, and then try to install the add-in.

See the link to perform the clean boot.

Method 1: How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Important: Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

Note: See " " How to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting "to prepare the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting. "

    Method 3: Optimize Windows performance

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/optimize-Windows-better-performance#optimize-Windows-better-performance=Windows-7

Note: Data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

Note: When running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area so all available data on this risk be lost.

  • I/o error: the network adapter could not establish the connection: connection to oracle database

    Hello

I am not able to connect to the Oracle SQL developer database. I said / 0 error: the network adapter could not establish the connection.

I started the listener, but what I see is, it points to a different IP address instead of the IP address of the host. How to change the name of host or IP address.

I see that it points to the host name in listener.ora.

    Attached the screenshot

Can someone help me solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance

What he says is the listener.ora file is not necessary to start the listener.  If you rename, then start the receiver, then start the db, after a minute or two, the db should automatically register with the listener and then you can make a tnsping or otherwise connect to the database through the listener.

I'm not entirely sure what's going on with your image, but I can't help but wonder if somehow something is not what you expect with the investigation period, whenever it starts.

So use lsnrctl status lsnrctl services to see what the listener is the situation and tnsping and ping from the client to see what he thinks.

  • vSphere Webclient authentication takes 3-5 minutes to complete

    Hey there,

I have a vCenter Server Appliance here where the vSphere Client connection authentication step takes 3-5 minutes each time that a user wants to connect. When the user finally logs, what's up.

vSphere Client c# works very well.

Any source of identity the user comes from. localos, vsphere.local or advertising. Even when you are disconnected from the AD there are still local users a few minutes to connect.

I upgraded the device, but it's the same behavior on both version (5.1 and 5.5U1).

I suspect some sort of timeout network for certain parts of the web client (connection works and the works of customer Web thin after that, so the essential ports seem to be open)

Has anyone seen this behavior or got a tip which saves VCSA could help me?

    Thank you

    Tim

    Hey Jason,

    Thanks for your reply,

I found the same errors in my logs, but it wasn't the problem.

I just had a call with the GSS from VMware team and they found an old plugin registered in vCenter, who wait for a timeout for each connection. Only in the web even though customer as c# client disabled the plugin on its own.

We have registered the plugin and now everything works fine.

  • v3 takes about 5 minutes so that it starts after you disable all extensions, etc.

    Hi all

I'm trying to understand why v3 SQL Developer takes so long to load up.
I've searched the forums and made a few tweaks, but still takes forever (~ 5 minutes!)

    1 changed in appearance Windows
    2 disabled all extensions
    3. confirm that the "update automatically" is disabled

Anything else I need to do? So most of the actions I take are really very slow.
One thing I think that maybe that causes are that in TNS network file is huge... but I guess that it would be a success if I try to add a connection.

Any help would be appreciated, because for now, it is not a usable software piece...

    Who thinks so.
I make a set of those I really need (or even no) and place this file in a different directory, and then point to that one in preferences - - Advanced - Database Directory Tnsnames.

    Hope that helps,

When I try copy/paste or make slide a simple vector of illustrator into photoshop it takes almost 5 minutes and both programs are block. I'm on a Core i7 2.3 with 8 GB of ram, so power and memory should not be a problem. Any ideas?

  • "Firefox guard wanting to install ver.17, I left it and it crashes on 'Check now to add on cooperation', this may take a few minutes", there is a one-hour, not MB

Well, I wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and... nothing. I can't cancel, I can't x out of the box... I let it for more and time and it does nothing... so I have to use internet ex. I have redownloaded firefox from there to try it from scratch and same thing, if I cancel the box immediately stops then nothing I can rehit the firefox button and it will load firefox. but never fear... another box comes up later and says you need the latest version of firefox... man if the system on your end doesn't, can't you guys see this? I am disappointed that you have exhausted there is too long too. and ads and the slow and privacy is becoming more of a question

It is possible that there is a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.

Delete the files (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created if necessary.

    See "extension corrupted files:

If you see disabled extensions, is not compatible, in "tools > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button, on the left side of the search bar (or click on the"Find updates"button in older versions of Firefox) to check if there is an available update compatibility.

If that didn't help then also try to delete the file addons.sqlite.

There is no software hogging the system because I've been surfing or play media files.
Is due to the fact that it has only 192 MB of ram, because I thought the upgrade anyway. Or I am barking the wrong tree?

    See you soon

    Hello

    I agree with Jonathan

A little more RAM can be very good, and it can make your device faster and more flexible. I recommend you to check all active running process. Generally, many of them is absolutely useless, but they can slow down the system quickly especially if the device does not have a lot of RAM.

I recommend clean up the operating system, use the Defragmenter tool and check applications that start with Windows. Many of them may be disabled. Enforcement antivir may also slow the operating system currently running. Check all this. I hope that your device will work better.

By the way: the compatible memory module for your device are
    DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)

    Hello!

In your case, I would check how many programs in the startup folder and in msconfig. Clear all programs that you don't need (start-online programs-online start-up) and also have a glance in the msconfig (start-run-msconfig online online). There you can disable programs too.

In addition, you can defragment your HARD drive. I'm doing this every month 1-2.

Remove programs that you n t need to increase the speed at startup.

    Good bye

    Hello

Have you checked the CPU usage rate?
Start the Task Manager and check if any strange background process needs the full CPU performance.

I also recommend to check the laptop for some viruses and malware. These programs could make the laptop and the lazy BONE.

However the portable equipment could bad work.
You should check the memory using the Memtest86 program. It s freeware. Check the HARD drive for bad sectors and also try to defragment the HARD drive!

    Hello

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Communities. From your problem description, I understand that you are facing problems when the computer starts.

    1. what operating system is installed on the computer?

Please go ahead and follow the steps mentioned and later a update on the State of the question.

Method 1: Check if the problem is caused by some faulty devices on your computer. I suggest that you disconnect all external devices except the mouse and keyboard to your computer and check to see if the same problem happens.

Method 2: Try to run the troubleshooter of Performance:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-performance-Troubleshooter

Method 3: Try to boot in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    (For Windows Vista)

Method 4: If the question does not exist in Mode safe mode then try to set up your computer in a clean boot state, and check to see if the same problem happens.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 3 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

  • You try to transfer data to new computer, takes about 30 minutes to collect data, and then told me that it will take 33 + hours of transfer

I have 2 PC, two 40 g X 2 g, an old score about 12 GB of data, 71% free, new is ready to receive. When I make the connection with a null cable and start, it takes about 30 minutes to put together and start the transfer, but it gives a transfer time of 33 + hrs and that means, I let it run for about 6 hours, and he was always less than 6% of fact. No games or large, larger files is about 12 MB. Any help? Bob

If cable "null", you hear a serial RS-232 cable, you probably chose the slowest method of data transfer possible.  A serial cable tops out at raw data of 115 Kbps (115 000 bits per second) rate the most current Ethernet 100 Mbit/s connection - is about 1000 times faster.

I don't know why some s/w you use takes 30 minutes to "collect" information before starting the transfer, but if you have about 12 GB of data (and don't have / want an Ethernet connection), why not just get a big enough USB.  You can get a 8 GB USB key for less than $15 and a 16 GB for about $20.  If you have USB 2.0 (which is likely, unless your old computer is older than 10 years), the maximum raw data rate is 480 Mbps with rates effective data around 20-30 MB/s for the memory sticks.

At 20 MB/s, 12 GB should be transferred in about 600 seconds or 10 minutes.
