New Ceton tuner causing the hard locks

I hace just received and installed a new Ceton infinitv 4 tuner in media center.  Since the installation, I got random freezes when recording or watching live TV.  Systems simply stops while playing audio starts a loop and the only thing to do is a system reset.  Locking to occur in time to start watching TV.

There are no events that appear in the system logs and the ceton diagnostic program shows no problem.

So far I have moved the map between locations, updated the BIOS OF THE system, all systems updated drivers to update, carried out a complete reinstallation of Windows 7.  All to nothing does not.

Thoughts?

Two things to check:

1. is the Ceton overheating card?

2. I had a similar experience with a tuner card different resulting from insufficient tension, powered by the power supply on the 3.3V rail. You can try to install SpeedFan to see what voltage you get on all the rails. PCI - E uses the rails 3.3V and 12V.

Never underestimate your own stupidity.

OK, I got a laptop comes pre-loaded with windows Vista and it has got water damage and shorted, the hard drive however is in good working condition. I bought a laptop replacement because I didn't want to be on another computer that someone else would break anyway.

so I bought this used the laptop from a friend that he would use to intnet and games, she had similar specs as my old laptop except the proccessor was different but similar speed and what not. what I want to do is to install the hard drive from my old with Vista genuine in this 'new' computer that has a hard drive in a way smaller and is loaded with XP.

compatible sound and I have already, but it asks me for my product key that I have but it says its wrong (I guess as its headquarters in the old hardware) so is there a way to unregister the old hardware or upgrade my hardware information in order to use my old hard drive and keep my status as a true?

not only is a HDD larger but its quicker and there all my files ive been without for more than a year now and frankly I need it back so bad at this point

    Thank you thank you

Sorry, but versions OEM of Windows Vista cannot be transferred to another computer.  The license is permanently tied to the original computer, it has been installed and activated on. Carey Frisch

  • XPS 8700 - installed new SSD but still the HARD drive boots

I just installed a Samsung 840 Pro in one of my 8700's. I used the software of Samsung cloning and cloning has been a success, as far as I know.

Then, I changed the cables between the factory-installed HDD and SSD so that the SSD is now connected to the lower SATA port.

After I stopped and turned on, this thing is always the start of the original HDD and I cannot understand exactly how to change what must be changed, so it starts on the SSD.

The original HARD drive still appears as the 'C' drive while the SSD has a drive letter of the 'P '. AHCI is selected in the installer and I couldn't see all the other parameters that would load the PC to boot from SSD.

I just need to change the drive letters? What I'm missing here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again, but this has been SOLVED!

It seems that the only and only a step that I had to do was unplug the original HARD disk.

After that I disconnected the drive HARD original, the computer booted from the SSD without problem.

I hope this will help someone facing the same problem in the future.

  • New drive Flash caused the disconnection

Nice going, Adobe.  Your Flash Player update I disconnected from the Internet.  It is Windows 7 64 bit with IE11 as default browser.

We do not really have the opportunity to make your Internet connection to stop working.  I'm guessing that this problem has resolved itself, but if it isn't, I would start with reset.

If you are still having problems connecting to the internet, you'll probably want to reach out to the team of technical support for your PC laptop/internet service provider.

  • DV6-6119wm: HP Pavilion dv6-6119wm - replace the hard drive with a hard drive from a laptop Gateway

OK (deep breath). I have a dilemma, and I hope that you all can help me.

First of all, the HP laptop in question is a dv6-6119wm QE069UA #ABA, Windows 7 Home Premium.

A month ago, it began overheating and then blue screened on me with a fan error. I ran it while I was getting this error, which was a mistake, because according to me, he has finally caused the hard drive failure after enforcement of reset factory several times. But I'm getting ahead.

I replaced the fan and the heatsink myself. Another factory reset. Downloaded and installed all the updates of windows. Ran great for like a week with the exception of the fault 1 hard disk when I ran the Start Up Test.

Then when I restarted yesterday... He's dead, so he is dead.  Apparently, the hard drive failed completely and comes only a black screen telling me it cannot start.

So, I have this other model of Gateway laptop, NV55C26u which has stopped charging. I had to put it away and don't worry. I got out the hard drive and tried HP successfully. ! Sorta.

It considers that the HP is a gateway and as a result, none of the drivers are there for all the good stuffs HP. It cannot connect to the internet and does not recognize the USB flash drive. (I had downloaded all the drivers on another laptop and put them on a pious flash drive I could convince the hard drive it's HP again). Another hard drive WILL work in the dv6, and I had no errors on startup it upward.

I have no recovery discs or store bought Windows 7, all came with the laptop preinstalled. But I don't have my key to the label.

Then what should I do? I'm not exactly tech savvy, I know just enough to be dangerous haha, but I tend to go glassy when things get too technical. I thought I could get something Microsoft to reinstall my Windows but I guess they closed this path down a few months ago.

    I have access to 2 other laptops, both HP. A QE304UA of Pavilion G7 #ABA with Windows 7 Home Premium and a HP 250 G2 Portable F7V84UT #ABAwith Windows 7 Professional.

So basically in order to encapsulate this novel to the top, which can do here to fix my dv6? How can I convince this other HDD HP rather than Gateway? I can create something from one of these other HP laptops? Download something somewhere? I don't want to have to buy Windows again. I love this phone and need her in my life as a game.

    Please help me

You must do a clean install of Windows on them. The hard drive has drivers for completely different material. Too bad that you did not have your drive to retrieve the value. It would restore the hard drive to HP with all the drivers/software installed. It would depend if the hard disk is at least the same capacity or larger than the original. Recovery discs are reluctant to a smaller capacity hard drive.

You can order recovery Medai for about $16:

  • New hard disk identified but causes the error "no boot device found".

    Hello

Recently my computer (Inspiron 15 3521) had hard drive failures, so I ran a diagnosis which resulted in replace me the hard drive. I thought I would upgrade the old 500 GB for a hard drive of tuberculosis.

Now, when I install the new hard drive, that it translates "found no boot device" I ran diagnostics on it and checked everything, and it recognizes the hard disk. Diagnosis is nothing but the problem persists. Any help would be great!

The fundamental question: you have installed Windows on the drive?  New disks arrive Virgin - you'll need the support of recovery do you when you have received the system to install the operating system on the disk.

I doubt that it could be a motherboard problem, what the gbaniseter say this happens when it pick up or move the m400, then it will crash or lock up.
This seems to be a problem of HARD drive and it s nothing uncommon who, after a long period of use of the disk HARD start HARD drive malfunction is a sensitive device and can die because of the physical restraint
Replace the HARD drive and check if the problem would happen!

    Follow the steps mentioned below.

    Method 1:

It may be that some third-party software is causing this problem. Perform a clean boot and see if the problem is resolved.

If you can boot in safe mode, then I suggest you perform a clean boot.

    1. click on Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start The System Configuration utility.

    2. on the general tab click Selective startup , and then click to clear the check box loadstartup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    3. on the Services tab, click to select the hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click disable all

Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    2. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

  • Some sites create a new directory on the hard drive. How to prevent this?

Some web sites such as www.chron.com and www.pddnet.com create a new folder on the hard disk and writing. This is absolutely unacceptable. After each internet session I delete them. It seems that the developers of Firefox would be quite concerned about security not to have allowed this "feature" or at least make the site permission to create the directory. Web sites shouldn't have arbitrary write access. (Linux debian 6.0).

It seems that the video player is the cause. I have a low-speed DSL connection and the video player is put to download the file, so I can watch it later. It didn't occur to me that the sites Web regularly could play movies automatically as they do not appear in time real.

Thank you very much for the help.
