Windows doesn't detect all antivirus programs, and some antivirus programs report their status to Windows.

If you receive notifications related to security on your virus protection software, but you know that your antivirus software is installed and updated, you can follow the steps below to stop receiving these notifications.

Note: You should only do this if you are sure you have a complete and up-to-date antivirus program installed on your computer and that real-time scanning, which checks every file before it opened or used, is turned on.

  • To install the new eSATA / SATA to USB 2.0 hard drive in an external enclosure but the computer does not recognize the drive in disk management

I have an old computer with installed Microsoft Windows XP SP2 and 3.  I bought a new hard drive and also a new external hard drive for her case.  I have correctly installed the hard drive inside the enclosure, and I think that I have installed correctly (in the motherboard SATA port) eSATA port, according to the manufacturer's instructions.  I plugged everything... first eSATA, then power and power switch.  I restarted the computer, and I chose to analyze disks in disk management.  However, the new drive is not recognized.  The SATA port on the motherboard could not work or did I buy the bad, perhaps, hard drive enclosure for my system?  Or something related to the software?  Thank you.

Step 2: Download and install the latest drivers from the chipset of the computer or the manufacturer of the motherboard and check

Step 3: Hard disk can be turned off in the BIOS; You may want to enable

Important: Change BIOS (Basic input output system) /semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

If the problem persists, it is a hardware problem, contact the manufacturer of the hard drive for a more specialized help

  • Want to reinstall XP but the computer does not recognize the cd drive and does not allow for any installation.

Accidentally deleted some system files and now the computer won't allow me to install anything. Tried to install a new cd player to replace a corrupt, but it does not recognize drive. All the driver and OS install CD. Help.

    Fix missing files:

Try to run the checker system (CFS) files.  Press start, select run, type: SFC/scannow

SFC will ask your installation disc (which you must have if you are going to re - install), put it in the drive when requested.  Leave the SFC to replace all missing or corrupt files.

    To resolve the startup problem:

Check your BIOS Setup and make sure the optical drive is enabled and listed before the hard drive in the boot order.  When you start, there will be a message, "type any key to boot from the CD-ROM."  Type any key (execpt shift, shift caps lock, NumLock, etc) will cause the CD to be initialized in the installation program.  (I use the space bar, it's an easy target.)

In addition, it would be useful to know a few more things: 1) what edition and service pack level of Windows XP you are running?  (2) what is the model and manufacturer of the optical drive, please?

    Hello

Since the system restore worked, for a while, it seems that you have a program that can
is causing the problem. Having too many programs of CDs and DVDs, in particular those who are responsible
pieces themselves at startup, can cause this problem, that compete for resources. If you
can use the system to restore the drive working again, or if using other methods
below, then EXPORT the registry keys, so you can compare and merge those back

  • I have successfully downloaded a new version of Java, but the installation is not complete.

I get the red circle with the white X towards the end of the installation.

If you want to download on a newer computer, download the following (you have a LOT of software out of data)

Download these programs and their transfer on a USB key, take it to your computer and install them

    Firefox http://getfirefox.com/

    Java: http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=73857

    Flash http://labsdownload.adobe.com/pub/labs/flashplatformruntimes/flashplayer11-5/flashplayer11-5_install_win_pi.exe

After having done that, run the installer, I gave you above once again, these programs are the greatest and it will pop them because they will be updated from now on.

  • Replacing the hard drive on my Pavilion dv6 - 3150ee but the bios is not recognize it.

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3150ee. my original hard drive was broken. I bought a western digital 500 GB 5400 Sata 2.

I installed the hard drive and made the recovery. Everything went well past and ok. When completed recovery operation, the system has restarted to continue the installation of hard drives but I got this message: no boot device insert boot disk and press any key.

so I went to the bios and tested the memory and the hard drive and all was ok. I tried to get into my bios, advanced options, but it isn't everything. My bios version is F.12.

I don't know what the problem is, and I will be thanksful for any help.

N.B: I have my recovery discs and my windows repair disc.

    Thank you.

The new hard drive sometimes requires to prepare first with utility cd from Cyberlink. Download and save the file. Once the download is complete, place a blank cd in your drive and click on the file to create a boot cd. Start with this cd and wait until you get a green check mark indicates the hard disk is ready. Remove the cd, insert the first disc of recovery and restart the laptop.
