New drive p P: 6930, 6930 - Installation of the OS

Hello

I bought an old HP 6930p laptop which worked very well.

The hard drive has begun to break up and I just bought a new hard drive for it.

At the time of the Installation of the OS it keeps giving me a blue screen of death.

Unfortunately, I don't have a HP OS drive and I'm trying to load from a Dell XP disc that came with my Dell laptop.

Is it possible to load the top OS?

I tried to run diagnostics on the hard drive and it shows me that the hard drive has all the problems.

Thank you.

Loki.

Hello:

You must install the AHCI sata drivers either "slipstreaming" them or by using a USB floppy drive to install the specific sata ACHI driver you need for the 6930p.

Please read this guide on how to integrate the drivers.  Read the Intel section and then read the downloadable document on how to integrate all drivers.

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on-0x0000007B-BSOD/m-p/114120#M17758

I compressed upwards and tied the drivers that you need wake below.

If you prefer to install the driver at the F6 prompt that you get at the beginning of the install XP via a USB FDD script, then you must use the up/down arrow keys to scroll and select the Intel(r) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller in the list.

If you live in the USA/Canada, you can call this number to order a recovery disc for the PC license originally supplied with (the COA sticker is on the bottom of the laptop under the card holder clear plastic).

Have the serial number of the laptop handy to give to the customer service rep.

  • install the new drive in slave. you want to transfer the OP for slave to the master drive. The slave to the master change and OP work, as did the master drive.

Hello, I install a new drive (slave at first) to be the master, after I transfer of windows on them. How can I transfer the data to the new disk that the operating system runs when the slave returned to be the master drive?

Go to your NEW Hard Drive from the manufacturer website.

They normally have available software cloning to transfer the operating system on a new hard drive.

  • Vista SP2 update causing CompactFlash new hardware detection repeated even after installation of the driver

I have a footstool of m8100n HP Pavilion Windows Vista Home Premium.  Since the Vista SP2 which was installed yesterday through the update of Windows, my PC guard detection of new hardware when I registered.  The application popup never ask again once, ask later, or update/search recommended for software to install what is recommended.  After selecting the option recommended and install the software that it finds, I get a popup about CompactFlash is now detected and ready to use material.  After this exercise, looks all right.  However, every time I connect as administrator or standard user on my Windows Vista computer passes through the detection of the same material and the update.  He should not have to repeat this after installation and update of itself for the new hardware.  What is the cause and Microsoft is aware of this problem?

I worked with HP on the problem.  It wasn't a problem of driver from the manufacturer because it had no software update HP.  The integrated CompactFlash drive location doesn't have a drive letter assigned.  Do not understand why that would be a problem because on the removable media drive letters are assigned dynamically when you insert a card or a player.  Records didn't have drive letters when running on SP1 and it wasn't and issues then.  This seems to have become a requirement for SP2.

The fix was to go in Windows disk management and pre assign drive letters to the disks 1 to 4 that are for CompactFlash removable media, MS/MS-Pro, SD/MMC and SM/xD-Picture on my HP m8100n PC.  Once this has been done and that Windows detects new hardware because of the SP2 update drivers, it installs successfully and is no longer repeat the detection/installation process.

  • Agilent 4156 new driver plug-and-play (pulse-installation problem)

Hello, I am new to Labview and just started using the Agilent 4156 new plug-and-play driver published on 02/12/2008. I try first to set up conditions of STRESS using this project. While I am able to configure most of the things that I need, I can't set the peak pulse value using the program "Set Pulse.vi". The Readme for the driver mentioned that this program has not been tested. The error message is the following:

    Reports of the instrument:
    + 181, "illegal installation. Invalid command. »
    -113, "undefined header."
    + 0, "no error".

Can someone help me with this problem?

    Thank you.

    Thanks for your reply.

I think I solved the problem. There are syntax errors in the "set up" Pulse.vi (PUL has been used instead of PULS in two places). He is now able to set the basic and advanced.

In addition, the way is designed the vi, it will always give an error because he tries to put in tension (possible only when a VIEW is of type V) 'Source' and 'Base' / 'Peak' tensions (only possible when the PGU is a type VPULSE). I removed the parts that I didn't need.

FYI, I use an Agilent 4156 C. In the configuration screen, the revision of the CPU is 1 and the revision of the software (03.06 HOSTC, CUMS 04.07, ADC 01.00).

  • new drive HARD Seagate Barracuda not recognized in the BIOS

    Hello

The Inspiron 530 desktop computer BIOS does not recognize my new HARD drive. It's a Seagate Barracuda 500 GB (ST3500413AS). I try to reinstall Vista, but installation can't find a drive with 3.9 GB. Wrong type of drive in the BIOS found, I think that.

Tried several things, but no results: check the BIOS, but with automatic selection drive only to find a 4 GB (wrong type), updated the BIOS drive (now 1.0.18), tried several drivers with startup etc.

Think I need a good driver, but on the site Web of Seagate, they say that there is no firmware for this drive.

    can someone help me?

    THX, David

    Thanks for all the support.

It wasn't a problem with the SATA 3 or something like that, but the HARD drive was missing. There is no other choice. Come back with my HARD drive (and information) to the store and finally got a new. I hope that the other works :)

    THX and greetings

    Hi, captain Brad,

Go to the site of the manufacturer of the computer and search for driver updates

Or, you can click Start > right click on computer

    Select manage

    Select Device Manager

Click on the + sign next to the Audio device

Right click on the driver, and then select update

If a driver is available, can be found in one of the above options.

  • Cloning of a disk failing on a new drive has left the computer unbootable

I upgraded my hard drive because it is run in mode only PIO makes it incredibly slow. Some cloning software using different, I made a clone of my drive to a new drive. No matter what method or the brand of software that I use to clone the drive, whenever I try to start after the end, I get the same error "the ARC firmware startup configuration problem: has not correctly generated name of ARC for HAL (it will)..." "Is it a security measure built into XP to prevent me from cloning the drive? I lost days now trying to clone my whole disc rather than doing a complete new installation of the OS and all software. Any ideas on this would be useful.

Ok. I don't get all the answers to this good. What I ended up doing was using a disk to reinstall XP boot to the recovery console and do a Fixboot difficulty MBR, then a bootcfg/rebuild. Seems to have solved the problem.

  • Windows 7 - partition windows on a new drive... travel startup gives nothing but the black screen and blinking cursor

I am replacing a hard drive and move a partition Windows 7 from one disk to another.  The original partition of Windows 7 starts and works perfectly, but when I clone to the new drive, I have a terrible problem getting the new boot drive.

On the original drive, the partition is the partition 3, on the new disk partition is partition 2.

Both drives have the same size of cylinder.

The new partition was created as a partition main with the same dimensions as the other and cloned in the whole content of the partition.  The files are all there in the new partition.

He is currently not starting correctly, it starts the partition, but then he's here - I don't see Windows Welcome screen or anything - just immediately inadmissible black screen with a blinking cursor.  All I can do is reboot.  By pressing F8 at startup does nothing.

Start of support for windows 7 and running repair features discovered the new partition as C: and CHKDSK C: points and gives a good report of the partition.

    BIOS settings have been lacking.

The following commands were executed the repair windows 7 installation media feature:

    Of http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749177 (v = ws.10) .aspx

    BOOTSECT/NT60 C:

    And http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/927392

    BOOTREC /FIXMBR

    BOOTREC /FIXBOOT

    C:
    BOOT CD
    BCD ATTRIB S H R
    REN C:\BOOT\BCD BCD. OLD
    BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD

The new partition was made active and is the only asset.

If I erase and freshly installed Windows 7 on the partition, it does not start successfully, but if I then replace the contents of the partition with a clone of the other partition of work, it does not work.

So that leaves me with a pretty good confidence that the problem has nothing to do with the charger starting and everything related to the content of the partition itself.

I can't find more useful information for the boot partition.

    Any ideas?

Moving Windows is not the best method.

It is better to 'image' or 'clone' Windows to the new drive, using software such as Acronis

True Imageor AOEMI Partition Wizard (free). I've used both (has a free version of Western Digital

Acronis to use if you have WD hard drives).

    .Acronis.com/en-au/Personal/PC-Backup

    .disk-partition.com/Free-Partition-Manager

(EDIT: I need to be careful.) Had redundant stuff here...;). )

Dual-boot can be difficult in the best of times, but two partitions on a HARD drive...

I don't think that you can select a particular partition in the BIOS to be your first boot option, only

from the HARD disk, so it would be a blow to the top.

See if there's useful information below-

    Hi Corey,.

Please uninstall CS6 and turn it off before you click Help and select Disable/disconnect.

  • How to import bookmarks to an old win / win wqhere FF installation failed. New victory and FF install the new drive. Old files

Old installation of Windows and where winning FF stopped working. Have reinstalled on the new drive win and FF and import bookmarks from the old install on the old disk. The files are always accessible. None of the listed options explain another FF FF import that create a new profile that will not work in this case.

Just as a reference, when you explore your old hard drive, will seek you:

    E:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

    (the drive letter may vary)

If Windows hides the AppData folder on the old disk, you can disable hide files and folders: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files

Then you can get off and find the folder bookmarkbackups containing .jsonlz4 files.

  • where are my drivers? new installation on the new hard drive

I have a dimension e510, I put in a new hard drive. I got the windows xp disk, I added when I bought the computer. In general, the hard drive is partitioned or something with the operating system on the hard disk of windows xp.

In any case after I installed widows xp, everything works except that I have the yellow question mark by 'other devices', I noticed that when I tried this computer with my main computer of the network. All of the devices under the heading other have no driver video Ethernet, PCi, for example - video works as I have a video card.

So I tried to install the drivers and windows is unable to find them. I still have the installation disc into the computer. Being one of the drivers for the Ethernet - i cannot access the internet to get drivers. Help

OK, I found the drivers on the dell site. I was able to install or update several drivers that I didn't need. the pilot opne I need comes in a cab file inpenuxp.cab.  Where do I put this? I've tried several things that work. When I low laoded the other driver of dell updtates, they all seemed different and they are all installed without problem

    Hello

You will need to download "Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection " of Dell on a USB key and install the driver for your Netbook have access to the internet.

A CAB file is a ZIP , CAB file is just the Microsoft format for a compressed folder save bandwidth on their server they save as aCAB , you can open and then select all and extract here where the files need. For the most part, these files will file dell cascading, images and Html pages.

Try to download the network card in your computer to get the correct driver installed for your problem.
