NEW HP ENVY LAPTOP LOCKOUT! Help!

Hi all!  I really hope that someone can help me because I'm ready to pull my hair!  I have a new HP Envy laptop and when I created a new user through the control panel account, I've never set up a password.  However, my computer locked last night after I closed the lid and when I went to get back on, it's invited me for a password!  I have never set one up, so why would he ask me for one?  It has Windows 8 and I don't see an option for users, etc. - probably because there is only one user put in place.  How can I work around this?  My laptop is useless at this point.  Someone please help...  Thank you!

I always thought that if highly HP and as such, has decided to buy a laptop HP - HP Envy 15-K233ca laptop.

I had a few problems early and one in particular, makes for an unpleasant experience.

The wifi connection continues falling.  It drops when the system is put into mode 'sleep', when I surf on the net and even after a reboot.

I went through the question (and a few others) with HP tonight and after 2 hours assistance service has encountered the same problem.  I'm now having to restart the computer and solve problems to try to maintain a wireless connection.  This is my first experience with an HP laptop and I'm disappointed.  It's unfortunate, but I may have to return it.  I'll walk to Apple for a replacement.   If someone from HP can solve this problem for once and for all, it would be useful. Otherwise, I will have no choice but to return the unit.

Note: I noticed that others are experiencing the same issue.  I asked that the HP help desk install drivers to fix the problem.  If this does not work after our session tonight, then I fear, that it may be a hardware problem.

    Hello

Thank you for taking the time to answer.  It seems that the box was already unchecked.  Good idea look even if, as others may have this checked and may, if all goes well in this solution.  I asked a tech support in India for download drivers that may correct the problem.  It seems to have worked.

    Thank you once again.

You must activate by phone and speak to a representative of activation.

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

My new HP Envy worked very well and the HP updates became available, so I accepted their. 85% of the way through the updates, I lost wifi capabilities and updates stopped. A message popped up that I needed to restart. I did it. It seemed he was installing the updates normally but then it just hung. I let it sit for probably an hour. I then had to force a reset to get out if the State suspended. When he returned to the top, he got to the login screen. After my password, it showed the circle of activity moving, but then after a minute or two, he went to a black screen with the exception of my mouse cursor. He never leaves this State except when I press CTRL-ALT-DELETE. If I select Sign Out, he is suspended in this State. If I click on the Task Manager, it goes back to a black screen and does nothing.
I just bought this laptop at Christmas through Costco and use it for work. I've usually save it once a week or more. My guess is one of something foires HP updates. If there is a way to get to a point where I could go back, that would be great.

  • Brand new HP Envy 17 gel daily

    Hello

Last Friday, I bought a brand new HP Envy 17 (Finnish model) 2050eo.  On the first day, he started to freeze on me at least once a day.  The mouse does not move, ctrl + alt + delete does not work, nothing - screen just freezes. Hard reboot needed.  Always happens when I download something and I noticed that my wireless is down several times a day (Gets a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark): it is something that does not happen with my other laptops and never happened, so the problem is this laptop in particular.

I've updated all the drivers I could, as well as my windows 7 - nothing seems to help with the problem of gel.

I'm no expert, but tried to look at the event viewer... and I really think that this has something to do with my network card - don't know if it could have an impact on the graphics card too in some way then.

Please help me because I don't know what more I can do, and I don't expect such a expensive laptop to give me problems from day one.  I really just look again at this stage...

    Hello

It really starts to look like a hardware problem, most likely with the wireless adapter - the only other process that may be worth trying is to reinstall the operating system to see if it improves the question - it is known since the initial bad installation.

Otherwise, I really recommend that you call the retailer you bought again and insist on a replacement - I live in England and the possibility of obtaining a replacement is normally during the first 28 days of the date of purchase, then you can check the laws where you live this topic because I have a feeling you might well be in your right to expect of the product needs to be replaced not repaired.

Let me know how you go.

    Kind regards

  • HP ENVY laptop - 13-d022tu: laptop lags when it is plugged

Laptop works fine when on battery, but when I plug it, the laptop of begins to lag, and my games have a constant 20-24 FPS. I have also noticed that when the laptop is connected to 80% or higher it don't hang out, however, when I plug it to 20% or more, the laptop everything is lagging.

    Hi there @malktee,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that your laptop rowed when connected to the charger, and that you have noticed that this never happens when the load level exceeds 80%.   I'm happy to help you with this.

From your description, this fix seems custom-made for you: HP ENVY laptop - the computer is slow or does not respond while that connected to the charger. As you can see that he mentions about the same problem but the break is 60% or less.  Try it and tell me if that solves the problem.

If it doesn't solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • HP ENVY laptop - 15 - ae101no: control of the Volume on the keyboard keys do not work!

    Hello

Volume control keys had suddenly stopped working, and I have no idea why. I have the model HP ENVY laptop - 15-ae101no (ENERGY STAR). Could you please help me fix it? Thank you!

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download Realtek HD Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp74501-75000/sp74867.exe

When finished, press and hold the Windows key and press R

In the run window, type devmgmt.msc and press to enter.

In Device Manager, expand sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the Realtek device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp72001-72500/sp72105.exe

When the reinstallation of Chipset is finished, stop the laptop.

Disconnect the power adapter and then hold button power supply for 30 seconds, then release.

    Plug the power adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

When windows has reloaded, open your download folder, right click on the installer of Realtek and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, reboot the laptop and let windows load completely for a few minutes before checking.

    Kind regards

  • HP Envy 15 t (G0T59AV): HP Envy laptop speaker poor sound quality (particularly acute) as the volume increases.

I had been without my HP Envy laptop a few weeks after he bricked on me and I had to send in for repair, and when I came back the sound quality seems to be noticeably worse than what I remember. The sound in general seems a little intestine initially, and it does not handle certain tones fine treble, producing shrill notes that almost seem like they're clipping or something, as if it's too much for the speaker to manage. The volume level refers to it - it's much worse at higher volumes, but its volumes, it should be able to manage, and has dealt in the past. 30 is basically normal, I'll hear parts of it start happening about 40 volume or so, 60 sounds evil, and 80 is almost inaudible.

My first suspect is the dustbin of Beats Audio with what they sent this thing.  He gave me problems before. I fiddled with the Beats Audio settings for a bit and couldn't find a lot of luck. The strange thing is, I searched Beats Audio driver updates, and I came to the top completely empty. All links to them were either broken, be directed to the page of HP support containing the drivers for the specific device model questioned. The driver for my laptop page shows nothing about the drivers of beats. And my device manager doesn't seem to show that no driver present Beats, either, even though I SWEAR there drivers for them in the past. The only present audio device is the Realtek HD Audio driver. The Beats Audio utility in the taskbar does not seem to think there is something wrong, however, so I don't know what's the case. Can someone help me?

(I know of no reason that the question I sent my laptop in for repair would be linked to this, nor do I have any reason to believe that the person who repaired the laptop could have done anything, as all my files on my HDD seem to have been completely intact, but just for the sake of rigour : A couple of weeks, apparently caused by me accidentally stick a 3.5 mm headphone jack into the adjacent USB and damaged brick my laptop. The computer, stop immediately, if she was able to start right back up. The next morning, it was completely insensitive and would not start until it was. I knew with certainty that it is the USB at the time, I thought that it was unlikely that a damaged USB port might cause a full brick computer, but when I got back from repair, the repair summary said that the only thing to do for she was replacing a USB port.  Other than the good question, my computer was working perfectly since.)
