  Thanks for posting the details of your system. I'm skeptical about the "CompTool0234 Community Toolbar". Could you disable some add-ons and see if that helps.

  On this tab:

  Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Plugins category

  Disable «Conduit Plugin»

  On this tab:

  Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

  Disable the CompTool0234 community toolbar.

  Then very probably a link will appear to restart Firefox to make the change. Does make a difference?

  Uninstall the Ask Toolbar. It can cause this problem.

• The numbers does not open

  I was working on a spreadsheet of the company and numbers suddenly crashed. I clicked on the 'Open' button, but now it won't open at all.

  I restarted the Mac and am currently operated in mode 'safe', but it will not always be open.

  Any ideas? Is there a way to remove the app and download a new copy?

  Hold the SHIFT key while launching numbers to 'say' numbers not top open files that have been previously opened.  Then try to open your documents again.

• Win 7 Firefox 3.6.13, new tab does not open when you click on it, on the desktop or laptop computer.

  I can not open a new tab in Firefox 3.6.13, running Windows 7. It does work on my desktop or my laptop. When I click on the '+' to add a tab, or right-click on it and choose 'New tab', nothing happens.

  "AskToolbar" extension is causing the problem. You can disable it in tools, modules, Extensions and restart Firefox.

  Numbers worksheets will not open via iCloud.com.  The new tab opens and then it just says: 'Loading... '. "forever.  It has always worked until this week.  Synchronized spreadsheets can be opened with the application of office numbers, yet is no longer iCloud.com.

• I loaded a new Firefox because F does not open. This new Firefox does not open. Not at all. The Task Manager shows some charges, but F not open. I rebooted, cleaned the registry, but F does not work.

  My computer crashed last night and on restart of firefox, it goes to a new page without any of the old tabs. Passing under story has all the options for restore recently closed shaded windows.

  I confirm that it is set under preferences to open previous tabs on firefox startup.

  I had the sessionstore.js file get corrupted before. Research in the profile folder, showed the sessionstore.js to a 1 k file. So my first instinct was to restore this file, simply and thankfully, there is a file sessionstore.bak with an end PM last time, so this file should still have my last session.

  I made a copy of the sessionstore.bak file and rename it to sessionstore.js, but firefox opens with a new session. I had the windows Explorer (File Manager, for example) open and as firefox was starting, the sessionstore.js got put in a 1 k file suggesting that firefox is the compensation the last session on opening. I tried to restore sessionstore.js to sessionstore.bak once and sessionstore.js read-only, but firefox still will not return to the previous browsing session; Instead, it creates a new file called sessionstore.js.tmp.

  I'm at a loss as to how to get back my old browsing session. I always use firefox V28.0. I don't have not upgraded to V29 because of not wanting to lose the ability to export the tabs as shown in the comments of the android version of V29. Operating system is Win 7 SP1.

  The sessionstore.js file is a JSON object, and I think that there are tools developer for syntax checking and perhaps repair. However, recent research has led me to pages that were a bit over my head.

  Lack of a tool that supports JavaScript, my next step would be Microsoft Word, simply because I do a lot of complex find/replace in Word and I'm sure that I could extract the URL like this.

  Your settings may have changed when you installed DivX. You can set the new tab page to something different from what follows:

  • Go to about: config
  • Click on I'll be careful, I promise!
  • Search for browser.newtab.url
  • Double click on the string, delete Subject: newtab and enter whatever you want (www.google.com)
  • Close Firefox and reopen.

  Is there a way to create a hyperlink to a url that ' climbs to ' window of the URL if it is already open in the browser?  Therefore, a new window does not open and the existing window containing the hyperlink would not change either.

  If the target url is not already open, then yes the link could be open in a new window or in an existing window.
