NIC Vista 2 goes to 2 networks

Hello. I have a Vista PC that needs to go to two different networks at the same time. I tried assigning the base10 IP to a network card and it took, but later, that a single network is visible. I think that putting two network adapters in the machine might work, but can not anyth8ing on site (!) of Microsoft web who responds to this idea. Any thoughts?

You need multiple gateways for several connections.  Check out the following:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Configuring-multiple-gateways-on-a-network.  If you want both on the internet, see below.

Compliments of Jack, MVP http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/33498231/windows-vista-with-2-nic.aspx:

You can configure two network adapters on a computer to be on two different networks. However, if you want them both to go to the Internet you need two independent Internet connections. An Internet connection with a single IP address cannot feed two.  When I mentioned two independent Internet connections, this means two modems and two routers (Firewalls). If you have only two cables going to the same router may not work.

============================================================================================================================

Since you don't explain the internet aspects of both networks, I don't know if the link will help you or not.  But you don't mention having two modems or routers so I suspect you are trying to do in using a single, and as Jack said, it's just not possible.  It can be done, but you need additional hardware and a different internet connection.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

  • Vista continues to lose a network printer

I have a computer with Vista home premium (32 bit) networked through a router to a printer (Epson DX4400) on a second computer running Windows 7 Professional (64 bit).

The network seems to work fine, I can see and access shared folders on the other machine), but whenever the vista computer is restarted the printer must be reinstalled on the subject from scratch. The computer can still not see the printer through the Add Printer Wizard and I have to use the "printer not listed option" in the wizard.

    Hey MarkMc

    Step 1

I first suggest you to uninstall the drivers and connect the printer locally on the Windows Vista-based computer. Then install the drivers and check if it works fine after restarting the computer. If the connection is intact and if the printer is visible after restarting the computer, you can connect to Windows 7 computer and reinstall network site Web Epson printer drivers.

    Step 2

Access the link below and download the latest drivers for your printer and install and check if it helps.

    http://eSupport.Epson-Europe.com/ProductHome.aspx?LNG=en-GB&data=lkuCfcvA9czYMwB+2i0olQuJG2hW2FWdwbHRlVgU002Fu18U003D&TC=6

    Step 3

You can remove or remove all the other printer installed on your Windows Vista computer and reinstall the drivers for your Epson DX 4400 and check if it helps.

    Step 4

Check if you have any firewall is enabled on your router and try to temporarily disable the firewall of the router and check if that helps you solve the problem. If it works fine after you turn off the firewall, you can contact the router manufacturer to check if you need to change the settings of the router. Later, re-enable the firewall after verification.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

  • Windows Vista Business 64 bit no network connection

I installed the 5.0.0.04 for 64-bit Cisco VPN client and it worked perfectly. I power down my machine and when I turned back the next day the network connection just stopped working. Is really weird, when I go to the network adapter I see no error or anything, nothing shows no more on the event viewer. The hardware Manager shows the network adapter works, but on the systray I see the icon of the unplugged network cable and I am unable to connect to any network, I can't get an IP address any or anything. If I go to the network adapters, I see the map connected and everything, but I can't get an IP address, it shows as not connected. I already checked with another computer and the router and the network cable work. This crazy. I have already uninstalled the Cisco VPN client, updated the NIC drivers and firmware and restarted the machine in safe mode but nothing seems to work.

    I appreciate your help

    Hello

A message in the small window that says connected wireless does not mean that you really have a valid functional connection.

Linking the means of router you can enter the IP base of the router in an address bar in one go, being able to connect, see and configure the router menus (extended to the wireless router manual should explain how to do).

If it will not connect to your wireless router, journal newspaper from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

Enable security wireless after you eat to make a functional connection.

The wireless card drivers much also install utility wireless of the seller.

Make sure that if there are teas from Wireless Utility of seller does not work with the native Windows wireless utility (Service WLAN).

Firewall software can block traffic Local to the network that you are trying to use because it is not set to the network Zone Trust.

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible set up the firewall correctly, otherwise totally uninstall and get rid of its remaining processes that permit the own local network traffic flow.

If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

party like Hello and NetMagic 3rd network managers can block local traffic too.

What can I do after that?

Your TCP/IP settings does not seem right to me - which is not among the order for a private network numbers.  Maybe that's why you're having problems.  Also, it seems that you have enabled permissions so perhaps that's why you have an access problem (you may not be the configuration of permissions on both machines for users of the other machine).  It is difficult to tell what you have provided - there are many other settings and I'm not sure of what you have done with all of them.

Here is an article on how set up a network of hone (for example just a connection cable) - there are a lot of links with the right information so check everything to make sure you use the appropriate procedures and settings and cables:http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/homenetworking/a/homenetguide.htm.

Here is another article on how to set up a network home using a LAN cable and it goes into the correct TCP/IP addresses as well as other requirements.  This is a good, a very comprehensive article that can help you put up or help you find what stage you are missing or what you're doing wrong: http://www.astahost.com/info.php/tutorial-pc-pc-home-networking_t14018.html.

Please read both of these articles and then set up a completely new connection using what you have learned and see if that helps.

It seems that the virtual NETWORK adapter is not installed on the client, otherwise, you would see an adapter in the comments "ipconfig" with an APIPA address.

IP - disabled (Protocol IPSec) security information

How do you print a test page? The test page does not print your password for the computer. If your printer is connected to your local network router are you sure that it does not simply print the ssid. The info you have posted does not affect printing any password, nor is he compromising safety.
