  Hello

  I have the C4385 and have several years to scan HP sscan my documents. I have recently been unable to use this software because of an error message "scan cannot be performed because another program is using...".

  I uninstalled the HP software and I am forced to use printing simple & software scan. I can't find the software for scanning HP anywhere to re - install on the HP website. Where can I get this?

  If I'm forced to use the basic print & scan software how to scan multiple pages into a single document?

  You can do a sucj of printing & scanning by following these steps:

  1. After pressing Scanner open, click the view details button.
  2. Type the required name and set the format to PDF.
  3. CHECK the box next to "combine in a single document.
  4. Rhythm on the next page on the scanner and click the scan button.
  5. Repeat pressing the button scan until you have finished scanning pages, the specified file will include the scanned pages.

• HP C4385 all-in-one crashes when you try to scan

  I have a HP C4385 all in one and when I attemot to scan, unit itself is all in one software, a window that says "hp scanning" appears and then the software freezes.  It does not scan, I get no error message.  I need to reboot to clear the message, but still can not sweep.

  I use Windows XP and connected to the all-in-one wireless device.  I had this problem a few months back and was able to get online HP chat people to help me, but this time I tried twice and they can help. I thnk I downloaded somethingthe last time it was fixed.  Any help would be appreciated.

  I think that there are some conflicts with the drivers.  I was able to get everything working again to completely uninstall the software and then re-install.  It cleared up any questions - until of course, something comes into conflict with her and he messes up.  But it works fine now.

  Why hp disables the use of scanning and faxing because of the low level of ink? Printer says print cartridge missing or not detected. Doesn't make sense to me because the ink has absolutely nothing to do with the other functions. Since I bought this all in one I replace ink twice and I only printed about 10 pieces of paper for nine, making these extremely expensive 10 sheets!

  try reseating the cartridges once more & switch off the printer and remove power & other cables connected to the printer & press & hold the power for 20 seconds & then reconnect all cables back & then turn on the pritner & try to use that will solve the problem...

  A scanning several pages with my HPC4385 yesterday when the Scanner has suddenly stopped at halfway through a page of scanning.  After a new attempt of several times, the software tells me that scanner could not be initialized.

  I uninstalled the software and tried to reinstall and now HP and HP Setup Setup cannot find the printer/scanner at all?

  One other thing to note is HP on the LED flashes quickly after turning the power on.

  I recommend you to perform a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

  I recommend then perform a reset of the printer.  Return to the configuration of the system that you were before, by pressing the power and Cancel buttons, then blue, green, and gray buttons.  You can use the reset instructions below:

  Press the black 'Copy' button until the display shows "Reset Menu", then press the "Color copy" button once. Press the black 'Copy' button until the display shows "Reset partial" and then press the button "color copy".  The printer turns off.  Wait 60 seconds and power on the printer at the end of the reset.

  I have a printer HP 4385. I just changed my PC for a Lemovo running Windows 7 Pro 64. I got the installation on HP website. Everything works on printing, copying aside. The scan function works OK until you press the Finish button. The image shows that the image is being sent to the PC is and then an error message indicates that an unexpected error occurs. Click OK to restart the program... and 3 choice: restart the program, restart the PC, reinstall the software

  If it was my first reinstalling I wouldn't be on this forum... I have reinstalled this software so mamy time... I ran the diagnostic software... And the answer is always reinstall...

• Scanning PC settings appears every day

  Whenever I have begin to macOS, I get a window of "Scan-from-PC. It does list some scanners and does not include the option Add / Remove. There is a "Scan of operating Panel settings" button which takes me for a nearly identical and all as useless screen. And there is a? Help button that signals "the subject is currently unavailable.

  Any suggestions on how I can do this, go far? Granted it's only a click, but it's a nuisance that I get to enjoy every day.

  Uninstall the scanner software - it doesn't seem to be compatible with macOS Sierra.

  You can also check the preferences > users and groups > [you] > login items and remove (with the minus sign) any scanner related Articles.

I'm unable to use the preview to scan.  Before this upgrade, it worked fine.  The HP scanner software does NOT work something like OS 10.8 or 10.9.  Preview worked perfectly so far.  If anyone knows how to solve this problem, your contribution will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

  Have you tried scanning with Capture of Image instead? It worked for me.

  I contacted Canon, they have yet to get their act together (my words) and, at this late stage, realized that some of their software, drivers, etc., is incompatible with the Sierra.

  Their recommendation does not upgrade to Sierra if you want their kit to work.

  No time estimated for fix.

  Either by the way, Nikon have now identified a problem.

  Maybe Apple should have an Upgrade Advisor as Microsoft do...

  doesn't look like canon has a printer that takes in charge the newer versions of Mac OS x, if I were you I would take contact them to see if they plan on support of new versions, apple made no drivers for the hardware they don't and if hardware manufacturers does not provide a working driver head can group with the new version of Mac OS x We have to rely on manufacturing to have a download on their page

• Giant PDF scans from Sierra update

  I like to use the 'digital images' app to scan documents and save them directly as a PDF. Ever since I updated my system to Mac OS Sierra pdf files created when scanning are about three times the size they were before and I can't find a place to change the setting for that. I don't want to use a different software since it worked perfectly fine before the update. Any ideas?
