  I'll put up a new Windows 7 PC for my parents.  I created an account admin for my part and for each standard user accounts.  I put Windows Update to "Allow all users to install updates on this computer".  However, whenever Windows detects there is a new update needs to be installed and I am connected to one of the standard user accounts, it prompts me for the admin password.  It leaves all of the standard user account install an update of Windows, although I explicitly told Windows Update to do this.  What Miss me?

  Change the settings to automatically install the Windows updates and see if the problem is resolved.
   
  To do this:

  b. Type Windows updates in the search field and press to enter.
  c. in the Windows windows update click on change settings.

  e. also make sure you have checked the allow all users to install updates on this computer area.

  I have a pc running windows XP sp2 which has been disconnected from the network for a year. I started using it last week, of course, he went to get 100 MS updates updates automatically. then it crashed and was an error of windows root system 32\hal.dll.   In order to format the drive, you will need your XP cd or recovery media supplied with your PC.  There are also third-party utilities you can start with and format your drive.  However, if you have the XP cd, you can remove the drive partition, recreate the partition, and then format the drive during the installation phase.

  After having updated the latest Firmware [Dell your 2161DS digital switch, Firmware, Multi OS, Multi language, Multi system, v.3.1.0.0, 1.3 (A03-00)] and restore the default settings. We do this directly through the Remote Console software.  Seeing the log in window, the user name is "Admin" and there is no password.  We can access in the switch, but "Admin" a/c is missing from the "User" settings category.   Sorry, this really sound like a Windows support question and not at all related to Firefox. First thing to do would be to talk to the bridge (since it's a new device) and see if their support can help you.

  But if you talk to supervisor password then I would recommend checking the utility called preinstalled Toshiba password tool.
  You should find it in the utility folder Toshiba.

  Probably use you TweakUI to put in place logon automatically and entered the wrong password, your account, or the wrong account. Login to the administrator account integrated, safe mode (assuming you have XP Home) and cancel whatever it was you did. If you don't have XP Home but have Pro/Media Center instead, so you don't need to go to Safe Mode. Just do Ctrl-Alt-Del to the Welcome screen to get the classic logon box. Use "Administrator" (without the quotes) and enter the actual password or, if you do not assign a password, leave this field blank. If you configure an automatic connection, you can also work around this and get to the home screen holding the SHIFT key while you are starting in Windows.

  If you have XP Pro or Media Center and use the administrator for your daily work and it is really the single user on the system account (and now you can see why this is not recommended), then all is not lost. Unfortunately, Microsoft does not allow us to tell how, in these forums. Their House, their rules. Use Google or ask a technician to the local computer (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad of the place).
