No audio w2408h monitor

I recently had to replace a with a 500-214 m9150f desktop computer.  Was attempting to use the monitor 24 "original, I am unable to get sound from the built-in speakers. Also had this problem in the past with the previous round, but in some way it would correct itself.  Any help would be greatly appreciated that the wife is suffering withdrawal pains.

Yes integrates two rear speakers.  You can see that the screen has audio controls created in the right lower part of the frame in the picture on the link.  Tried to copy photo from the back of the screen but it was apparently unaccepatble (invalid HTML) format.   At the time of the purchase of the new Tower, I bought an adapter to go from computer output DVI - D to HDMI cable.   Any further help would be appreciated that is additional or better cable/wire.

Thanks for the help,

When I try to install the Windows 10 birthday Upgrade on my PC (Lenovo), I get an eror message that says that my HP Pavilion w2408h Monitor driver is not compatible with Windows 10.  I have updated the driver but I got Windows 10 on this system for a year (only the old update seems to be a problem). HP is aware of this problem? There will be a new driver? The monitor is wonderful, and I wouldn't give it up on something like that.

    Hello:

You can always do the W10 installation DVD (using the below media creation tool) and autorun it from the windows desktop.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows10

Skip the check for updates and W10 should work around the equipment checks and install.

Then reinstall the latest version of the driver that HP has for your screen from the support page.

It is normally the way to cross any device that blocks W10 to settle.

Absolutely does not guarantee that the equipment works, but generally it will be.

  • changing the resolution of w2408h monitor

    Hi guys,.

Grateful if someone could help me with this problem.

I just bought w2408h monitor. My graphics card is the Radeon 9600.

I hv updated my PC to the latest drivers for my graphics card and the monitor.

    My problem is...

I use my XP Control Panel > display to change the setting 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz

When I turn off the screen (leaving the PC running) and later turn it back on - the monitor goes into auto setting and change the resolution to 800 x 600.

What should I do to stop my monitor to change my resolution deskto?

Thanking you in advance for any help you could give me.

I found the solution - actuallyI attached my monitor for my PC using the cables VGA and DVI times. Somehow, my DVI cable is faulty - then when I turn on my screen and then turn it on again - the monitor starts with a DVI mode. Therefore, the problem. Now that I have removed the DVI cable - it works like a charm.

    Thank you.

  • The image on my HP w2408h monitor has moved down about a half inch.

The image on my HP w2408h monitor has moved down about half an inch, so that there is a black band a half inch to the top and one half inch of the image missing at the bottom.  I tried the Auto adjust button on the monitor and using the vertical position adjustment in the menu of the monitor.  Neither have worked.  I have Windows Vista.  I replaced the video card, a few months ago, but this issue has not shown until recently.  Is there another way to set the position of the image?

Native and recommended for your screen display settings are 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz. Is it possible parameters have changed the resolution? I have a monitor resolution of 1920 x 1080 and forced the graphics card at 1600 x 900... This resulted in a band of black at the bottom and the top of the screen. Check and make sure that all parameters are correct and correspond.

  • HP w2408h monitor problems

I connected my old hp computer to my monitor to be updated and used the vga connection to do. When I tried the HDMI cable on my current machine he wouldn't get a HDMI signal. I plugged the current computer VGA connector and it worked fine, but if I disconnect the signal VGA screen becomes white. I went into the menu and it says that I don't have a HDMI signal. I connected the HDMI cable to my laptop and it works fine. I hope that I've explained this well enough. Basically, I don't get a HDMI signal even though it is set to HDMI on the menu and connected correctly. Thank you.

    Hello again auntnenee,

    Thanks for the quick response!

Based on the information you provided in your post, I recommend performing a hard reset on your monitor. To do this, please follow the steps below:

    1. unplug all the connective cables to the monitor (VGA, HDMI, etc.).

    2. unplug the power cord from the screen and the wall outlet.

    3. press the button power for 30 seconds.

    4. plug the power cord into the wall and then into the monitor.

    5. plug the HDMI cable between your computer and your monitor.

If the problem persists, you can also perform a factory reset on the screen itself. This is possible by accessing the menu. One of the options in the menu should allow you to make a 'Factory Reset'.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

  • HP w2408h: flashing monitor

I have a HP w2408h monitor was blinking on and off problems since I started using it with my Pro 3 Surfact.  I ran across a few 2114 messages on this forum I found the following solution...

Step 1. Unplug the power cord at the back of the screen and the wall
Step 2. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute
Step 3. Plug the power cable in the monitor, and then to the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the factory reset option and select

I followed these steps and, so far, my monitor no longer flashes (but his periods as it had so who will live will see)

My question is about the third step.  Why can't I use a power bar or surge protector?  Why must it be plugged directly into the wall?

    Hi there@deanblakely,

That the Forums are with you!  It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, HP experts and other support staff. I understand that you want to know why we recommend that you plug directly into a wall outlet. I'm happy to help you with this.

In response to your question, it is simply to help determine if a possible cause is insufficient. Some devices require power to perform certain tasks. If you are connected through a power strip, power this decision-making is being divided between all devices connected to this power strip.

I hope that adequately addresses your concerns and if so, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

I searched other posts on this subject and couldn't find something that helped. There are a series of problems which all coincided with the purchase of this monitor.

    * The monitor freezes during the passage of the users.
    * He falls asleep but won't wake up.
    * The mouse freezes.
Visible area shrinks to be the full height and width to approximately 6 "wide. The rest of the screen is black and the resolution is always set to 1920 x 1200 pixels.

Who knows? Maybe it's just a coincidence that the mouse problem turned up when the monitor was installed. I uninstalled the mouse driver, so XP could do a new installation next time I started.

  • Monitor and system used "wake up" mode ensures

I tell my story so that others may not feel as if they were alone in their perdicament. My story starts like this:

I bought the m9520f and and w2408h last Saturday and have been enjoying the PC immensely. I really like HP and wouldn't not consider purchasing another manufacturer - even with the troubles, I'm going to wear. Everything worked well until Sunday night, when I put the system into "sleep" mode and returns an hour later. I had put the system into "sleep" before but was returned to him several minutes later. But this time after leaving the PC in "sleep" for an hour, the system will not turn back. The lights on the PC itself would come on (from the green 'sleep' to the 'blue'), but the monitor would refuse to wake up. I called support and even they could not understand it. We have tried to unplug the pc and all its ropes, but nothing worked. I hooked up the monitor to my other pc, and it worked well, so I knew there was nothing wrong with the monitor. Earlier Saturday the PC would not recognize Monitor driver then maybe had something to do with it. Hmmm. When I disconect the PC monitor would come and it lights on the keyboard would be as well. When I plugged the monitor of the PC turns on but keyboard lights wouldn't. Strange. The monitor would immediately switch to "standby" mode as soon as I plugged the HDMI or VGA - in fact just before he would monitor OSD would be inidcate that niether the HDMI or VGA were connected (which they were physically). So I knew that the monitor was not to recognize the conection. Communication between the monitor and the PC must have been the cause. After about 45 times to turn on and off Alternatively the monitor and the PC, the monitor has FINALLY acknowledged that there was a link and my PC on - WHEWWW. I was afraid that I would have to discuss with the people at Circuit City for an Exchange. I still don't know what happened, but all I know is that I will NEVER put this monitor or PC in sleep in the future. Here are the symptoms that I lived in case someone else there is in the same perdicament. It seems to me that this can be cured with a software update - but I'm not smart enough to Koe for sure:

Tip #1: The PC would not recognize Monitor driver

Tip #2: This happened after leaving the monitor and the PC in 'sleep' for more than 30 minutes

Tip #3: The PC lights (clear blue power, stable, flashing green light on the back and the dvd player opens) but the rest of the monitor to sleep

Tip #4: The monitor refuses to acknowledge that it is "connected".

CUE #5: The PC "blockages" accordingly and refuses to switch (kind of caught between being on and "sleepy")

Tip #6: When the PC finally trun on the driver and the software supplied with the monitor that he would not recognize Saturday had risen from PC (hmm - I chose to not reinstall)

My recommendation: do NOT try to install the driver provided with your monitor and DO NOT put your system into "sleep" for more than 15 minutes.

My system: Pavilion Elite m9520f with monitor w2408h 24 inches.

    LAST UPDATED:

After several weeks with the computer, I found the solution. I did through trial an error. First of all, let me say that I don't have the option of returning the PC to the retailer, because it was Circuit City and they had to stop their activities - so I couldn't do that. Here is the solution for those of you are having problems with your PC do not 'wake up' sleep: (Please note that some documents below may be repetative and you could read what follows before in my previous updates - I just wat to summarize below for some people)

    1) to update drivers (ALL)

    (2) update the BIOS (very Important!) on the site of HP

    (3) HP has a problem with USB devices (external drives, USB mouse, anything with USB and Yes, that includes your monitor). Which MAY have something to do with the "bus controller" driver who refuses to this day to be installed on the 'updates '. I was not able to install this darn update, so I gave up. I know that many of you have had trouble with that as well so I'll leave for another topic on the forum of "solve". All I have now is that I've resigned myself to the fact that it will never be installed and I'm fine with it. Anyway, my main concern was the problem of "sleep". Getting back to what I was saying, the HP has a problem with the USB devices. In other words, all USB DEVICES MUST BE REMOVED before you go into sleep - if you do not, then the system will NOT "wake up". What I've learned, is to remove all USB devices before entering the sleep and my system will go to sleep and wake up without problems - for me, it was just a matter of having disconnected and reconnected once the system was awake. Of course, those with a USB mouse, I recommend that you get a mouse not USB. Fortunately also my HP w2408h monitor is connected through a HDMI cable so I don't have the problem of having to disconnect and reconnect it. The manual of the suggested w2408h connect it by HDMI AND USB but only connect it via HDMI and it works perfectly for me - DO NOT CONNECT THE USB cable on the screen because then you will have the problem of sleep.

    Resolved solution!

(now, if I can get my gosh darn controller BUS to install and my blu - ray to panic game then that would be nice - arghhhhhhh!)

Hope my experience helped the people there!

  • new nvidia graphics card and monitor driver choice?

Given that I added 8 GB memory for my win 7 64 bit clean install on my m9040n HP Pavillion that uses a card Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS fly a HP w2408h monitor... and discovered that card has the lowest windows experience index side (processor 7.1; memory 7.1; Chart 3.5; graphics games 5.3; & main hard drive 5.8)... what card Nvidia will work in my system and give me a better score... plus drivers for my other than the win7 genefric monitor drivers... anyone?

    Hi barcode,

Your screen has a native resolution of 1920 * 1200, so you should be able to get that out of your system.  If it's just appearing as a generic monitor in Device Manager, then I would say running updates of windows, where it should identify the monitor and download the correct definitions for it.  (Note that I didn't say 'pilot').

In addition, you will be able to squeak on another point or two in the experience of the user, if you download the latest drivers from the NVIDIA site video card here. (because it was not listed on the support page from hp.com for your model of Windows 7 drivers).

  • C100 /. Import MTS in sequence, Audio only problem

    Good evening!

I have encountered this problem several times, and have absolutely no idea how to solve this problem! I know what I did wrong and is to simply copy the video files and not the whole AVCHD file structure on my memory card.

    Anyway, here's the question:

    • I can import all. MTS in Premiere Pro files
    • I can play together. The MTS in Premiere Pro files in the Source - Source poster audio & video monitor monitor correct
    • I can create a new sequence with a video file by dragging the video file in the project window to the icon "create a new", next to the folder and the Recycle Bin icon in the project window. The new sequence shows the video clip with correct audio & video in the timeline.
      • When I go to select another element of the project window and drag it to the same timeline, I get only the audio track in the timeline panel. There is no video track.

The only work around I have found was to create a new sequence, whenever I want to use a specific clip, then in the new chronology of the sequence, select the item, make a right click, select copy, and then go on my calendar of 'main' sequence and paste the clip in the timeline. It is very annoying and a lot of your time.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Note: To add, I have recently switch from a drive to an SSD. Now, I have a 1 TB SSD in my PC and have had this problem on the two old my HDD and on my new install SSD.

Note: To clarify, the video IMPORT in first very well. When I put the videos on a timeline, only an audio track is going in the timeline. See the image below.

    b6fdb2ba928947eab55f2608e4922881.png

For those who have this problem, I found the solution. It's a completely stupid mistake, but all you have to do is click on the gray "V1", next to the left until now controls visibility on the first video track of the timeline. If you look at the screenshot in the original post, there are two blue icons of A1. There is only one blue icon of V1, and you have to make two of them blue simply by clicking on the gray.
