• Pavilion dv7t-3300: weird behavior after adding the SSD and RAM upgrade

  Has just added a new HD SSD to my note as "disk 1"(the former one is 'disk 0', he has a Win. " 8.1 works). Installed Win. 10 in the new drive and everything has worked well so far. I tried to upgrade the memory, so I bought two Crucial DDR3 1333 with 8 GB memory each, the previos configuration were two 2 GB memory (4 GB total).

  The question is: If you use a single memory (8 GB) everything looks Ok. If I add the other (16 GB total), the new SSD is not recognized, but the old man works as usual.   My Pavilion dv7t3300 has two hard drives... A SATA 500 GB of data and an SSD 128 GB containing the operating system and other programs.   The SSD drive that contains the operating system failed.  When I install the replacement SSD, I intend to use the HP System recovery DVD (2) which came with the unit.  If I load the recovery disks will be erase/format all my data-files in the 500 GB drive.

  The new drive is "naked".

  I just remove the second disk while making the recovery operation and slap it in when the process is complete. Better safe than sorry. Theoretically, the recovery disks will not affect the second drive, but it's really easy to be sure that they will not be 100%.

  You want to install an SSD.  Have the naked reader.  Need for cables, screws, software cloning.  Recommendations?

  To make the SSD the boot drive, you have to move around the main Bay. Only drives in this Bay are bootable. The good advice above to support hardware and software of cloning. There is a single cable that carries data and power so that you do not need anything anyone else.

  (1) single purchase guaranteed compatible memory modules memory manufacturers.

  2) install in pairs of identical modules.

  (3) do not mix and match capacities and manufacturers brands unless you like really surprises.

  I bought this laptop about 2 years ago from the United States. The hard drive is dead (crushed) and I had to replace it with a new one. I did the installation of the hard disk, install the OS (Win7 Home Premium 64 bit) and activate it online. I also download the drivers from the HP to Win7 Home Premium 64 bit website:

  but that several drivers can be installed correctly (Intel Chipset and wireless Lan). I don't know why, said nVidia drivers threre's no compatible hardware detected and the control device also unrecognized.

• Recovery HP Pavilion problem

  Last may I made a backup of my HP Pavilion dv7t-3300 windows 7 notebook. It created a disk labeled "HP Laptop Repair Disk Windows 7 64 Bit". I don't remember but assume I was told to label this disk as such. It also created 4 disks I labeled "HP Lapatop Recovery Disk 1,2,3,4". The 1st disk has folders labeled “Boot, hp,Preload, Recovery and System.sav” plus some other files. Disks 2 and 3 have a folder labeled “preload” and a few other files. The last disk, disk 4 has 2 folders labeled “Preload and System.sav” plus a few other files. I did a system restore using the HP Laptop Repair Disk" This created a system which looks like what is probably the system installed when I bought the computer. I am trying to find a way to now use the 4 Recovery Disks I made to complete my restore. I cannot find any way to get my computer to use these disks. Does anybody know how to use these disks so I can complete the restore? They do not boot and they are not recognized during the restore process where I am ask to put in the last disk.
  

  Creating recovery disk should have done 1 - X recovery disks (but many it necessary) rather than create those and a system repair disc.  Personally, I have not found HP Recovery Manager to make the system repair disc such that it is usually a builtin with Windows 7 feature.  Page 2 of this guide details how the process should have taken place.  She mentions that the labelling drives 1 x and no mention of a system repair disc.

  The system repair disc is usually used to access advanced service of Windows 7 since a retail disk options is not provided.  What happens if you run recovery disc 1 of the actual transfer defined instead of the system repair disc?  Recovery should really be started from the disk labeled disk 1 as it initiates the recovery.

  Don't have a HP Recovery Manager support when the system repair disc has been started? Other discs responded to after having inserted the floppy "system"?  If so, then I think that the 'system' disk is actually disc 1 of the recovery set.

  By any chance, did you get the next screen at any point by using the system repair disk?

  

• How do you spend between 64 bit and 32 bit? (Win 7)

  I searched here, Adobe's Support, read the user manual and cannot find any information on the way in which we go from 64 bit to 32 bit.  I'm trying to create Time Lapse sequences and CS 5 tells me that I must be in 32-bit mode.  How do? I use a HP Pavilion dv7t-3300 i7 as Quad Core with 4 GB of RAM and Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

  Bluetooth worked for my daughter on Windows Vista 64-bit.  I he has upgraded to Windows 7 64 - bit, and now no trace of bluetooth has completely disappeared.  HP does not list Win7 64 driver software for the dv7t-2000, which is bad.  How the world to its internal bluetooth works again under Windows 7 64-bit.  She has a bluetooth mouse!

  Sorry, my answer was so long coming.  The good news is that it is fixed!  And it is indeed a hardware problem.  Of all kinds.

  With the help of a service manual (page 63), I was able to join the bluetooth module.  It's the size of your thumbnail and buried deep under the Assembly of the cover and the switch left speaker.  Keyboard and several other parts must come off until you can get there.

  

  So the BT module was not actually bad.  All I had to do was disconnect and then reinstall the tiny bit connector joining the BT module to the mother ship.  Buttoned er, powered later and voila! Windows detected new hardware and loaded new drivers.  Has gone through the process of pairing for the mouse, and my summer girl Rockin ' since then.

  I think that it was just strange moment that the connection is gone wonky shortly after the upgrade from Vista to Win7.  It worked on Vista for years and worked in Win7 for a couple of weeks.  Now, we're back in business.

  Thank you for all your advice.  I hope that this thread will be useful to others who may find themselves in the same boat.

  I have problems with the bluetooth in my HP dv7t-6100.

  I am no longer able to see/add devices bluetooth with Windows 7 is to add a device. He was working a few weeks ago, but was (waking up from his sleep would cause the device to turn off and I should enable in Device Manager to operate).

  I tried unistalling, then reinstall the drivers Wifi and different bluetooth drivers, but I can't see my bluetooth devices (which I know work btw).

  And by clicking on "Choose a COM port for a Bluetooth device" brings up the help page for Spider Solitaire, which makes no sense.

  WELL, I GOT MY BLUETOOTH WORKS AGAINN!  (Sorry for the caps)

  After turning around uninstalling and installing drivers for many hours, deletion of registry keys, reseating the bluetooth module, I finally found something that worked.

  I have installed the Toshiba bluetooth stack software and unfortunately, my bluetooth has started working again! Wohoo!

  It was difficult to settle at first it seemed that the installation froze on the driver real bluetooth, but just cancel and start the program caused to function normally. (I think its because my stack of drivers/bt bt were corrupt and I couldn't make them disappear completely).

  So, if your bluetooth stops working to the point where mine was to, try another bluetooth stack. It should not be Toshiba, but it happens to work with my HP laptop.

• I have a Pavilion dv7t entertainment notebook. Bluetooth does not work on startup.

  Most of the time when I put on the Bluetooth does not start. I know when he failed, because my mouse does not work.   Welcome to the HP Forums!

  I see that the Bluetooth service does not automatically start your laptop.

  It would be really useful to know which product and the operating system you are using.

  For more information on the search for your model and product numbers, click here: How can I find my model number or product number?
  What version of Windows you are using, click here: Windows operating system am I running?

  You can also try to control services on the laptop to make sure that the Bluetooth Support Service (or bthserv) is configured to start automatically, instead of manual. Start (Trigger) manual will try to detect Bluetooth devices before turning on, to prevent the service from running when it is not needed. This does not always work perfectly so if you use Bluetooth we will set it to automatic instead.

  To change Windows services:

  1. Press the Windows key + R to open the run window.
  2. Type services.msc and click OK to open the Services window.
  3. In the list of services find Bluetooth Support Service (or bthserv).
  4. Right-click on it and choose Properties.
  5. On the general tab set the drop-down list Startup type to Automatic.
  6. Click the log .
  7. Check the circle Local System account .
  8. Click OK to close the window
  9. Reboot and test.

  If it still does not respond, you may need to try automatic (delayed start) to give the system more startup time before searching for Bluetooth devices.

  Cannot get bluetooth works after Win 8 upgraded.  Have installed the latest version of the Intel Proset software.  I noticed the driver Intel Bluetooth to win 8 does not list my compatible (1000 N) adapter - probably the problem.  Anyone know a solution to this?

  In fact, somehow I seemed to have gotten it to work.  I used a piece of software called a manager of drivers to identify and install out-of-date drivers.  After updating the drivers as much as I could, I noticed that the Bluetooth is now able to connect to the Belkin music receiver.  However, the Widi did not work.   So, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Intel Proset software and the Widi software and then, finally, both the Bluetooth and the Widi worked.  No more driver updates for me for awhile.

  Is not serious when it comes to games, W7 Ultimate is a waste of money, it's good if you are traveling and need to change the default language.

  The second generation of i7 processors will be good for the games, however, stay with the 3.3 GHz Turbo.

  Graphics memory is not so important, but the model number is. I prefer NVIDIA on AMD as it runs more fees and the drivers are updated more frequently. Most of the HP machines use custom video drivers and they cannot be updated directly from a view of the factory. HP has done a terrible job of updating their custom drivers.

  Stick with 6770 and 1 GB of memory is good, but for only $ 50, you may as well go with the 2 GB memory.

  Not so, 1 GB is plenty for most, more serious laptops will come with more. Like I said, more the model number the better. With a laptop video card game is extensible, look for this.   Get one with a Solid State drive and the new SATA 3 interface, make sure that the laptop can make use of the SATA 3. Ask the manufacture, but not HP, they will tell you only what you want here or they don't know. If they can't answer that question, the machine can not support SATA 3. Forget the disks of standard rotation on a portable game. They get too hot and are already obsolete.

  Not good for games, much too thin to keep in the fridge for a good air circulation and no i7 processor. Unfortunately, most laptops are thick, black and heavy. But you won't have you cake and eat it too. My link also has a pathetic Intel graphics card.
