Problems with the response time of Vista

I bought a Dell Inspiron Laptopn with Vista on 17/05/2007. Mine is the slower machine in the office, and despite a 3 GB of memory. I recently bought a Dell Vostro with Windows 7. Great job with the product "7". How can I update my Dell Inspiron with Windows 7, I'm really sick of the speed it fires.

Also my IE crashes while browsing

First of all, make sure that your computer is compatible with Windows7 to http://windows-7-upgrade-advisor.en.softonic.com/.  I, for example, can't be upgraded because of many devices that are not compatible (too many to simply be affected most upgraded).

For Windows7 questions, please post on the Forums of Windows7 to: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windows7 where Windows7 experts will be happy to help you.

Good luck!

Cisco VPN Client doesn't have any version that is compatible with Vista 64 bit OS. The only customer that Cisco has released that supports the 64 bit OS's AnyConnect, but it is only supported on the CISCO ASA Appliance

  • Problem with the drivers after changing Vista-> WinXP on R61i

At first I want to mention that I am new to this forum and my native language is not English (sorry for the mistakes of language).

    Computing: Lenovo R61i 8943 g

    Foreplay:

In the new computer Windows Vista has been installed, but I decided to switch to a Windows XP Professional. There had a few issues with the SATA controller (computer has no floppy drive). After all, I managed to install a new system.

    Description of the problem:

I can't install the drivers to the computer (internet does not - same wired: ethernet, there is no sound, etc.) In Control Panel-> system-> device-> devices Manager there are yellow questions marks (with small exclamation points) around: network controller, PCI Device, unknown device (what is?), video controller, and video controller (VGA compatible).

There is no CD that came with this computer, so I tried to find the necessary drivers on the internet.

    On the page

    Lenovo, drivers and downloads support

I chose [network] to refine the results (first I want to activate ethernet Internet connections) and clicked on

Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet software for Windows XP - ThinkPad R500, R61, R61e, R61i

There is a file 7yra02ww.exe. At the last moment of the installation, the following window appears:

Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet Software for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I don't know if I tried to install the appropriate driver. After I tried to install Access Connections (think Vantage Technologies) of

ThinkVantage Access Connections for Windows XP, 2000-computers portable, but it also fails.

Could someone help me what to do (what drivers to install and how)? Thank you in advance. Matthew.

Thank you, Tim_Lenovo. My second post was about a possibility of making the easy instalation, but no one answered. Thanks - next time I'll use the system update

I don't know what you got almost everything square away exactly means (I'm not so good in English), but I think it speaks of my redundant work.

And the solution of my problem is very easy! I installed what it takes and just use the control panel-> power-> advanced options. (I think that my mind needs a rest!). In device manager there is a yellow question mark on unknown device (without power management there are two unknown devices without driver), so I thought that I need an additional driver. That's why I was always looking for appropriate software. A solution was so close to me

I hope that the system update helps a lack of driver for a device unknown (I wonder what it is).

  • Satellite P200 - 14 H - problem with the software after reinstalling Vista whindows

I have a Satellite P200 - 14 H, who bought systems Activ of Romania. I got a Toshiba DVD with an image pre-configured Windows and my driver's license windows vista Home premium. After several blue screens windows crashed after 5 days. It was a software problem. I am a network administrator and I need several virtual machines Linux vmware server Windows.

The DVD provided with the laptop is not really suited to my needs to reinstall windows because it throws my entire hard drive and is not an option. I took a friend a DVD windows vista Home premium and using my key from the sticker on the back of my laptop I reinstalled win without deleting all of the hard drive but only the partition c. I downloaded all the drivers of your site even if I found them really hard (model PSPB6E because that model PSPB6E I don't find it anywhere) everything is good except that "Flash Cards Support Utility" and «» Hardware Setup' give me the following error: "serial number is invalid '. I don't know what to do to be able to use the function keys I knew which are installed by 'Flash Cards Support utility'.

If it is not good that I did give me another solution that does not need to wipe entire HARD drive, but only the C drive and use the DVD that you have provided or give me access to some place to be able to download all the drivers and software that can be found on the original DVD (those above and to burn DVD and Norton internet security center and so on)

Thank you very much and please be so kind to give me a solution quickly because I really need this computer and I am unable to use it.

    Hi Adrian

    I'll try to clarify a few things;
First the drivers for Satellite P200 - 14 H PSPB6E series are placed on the page of Toshiba Europe and it of really not difficult to find.
Secondly the Vista serial key, which is located on the bottom of the unit cannot be used with another copy of Vista OS! This will not work!

You have installed the operating system Vista from the CD to friends, but you used a serial key that does not match with the Vista on CD to friends! As a result, you get the message error "serial number is invalid!"
The utility of Flash cards is required to use the keys FN under Win Vista. It visually shows the use of the FN button.

I would recommend another way of installation
First, you must use the DCD from Toshiba recovery. Back up your data first!
Then after installing the OS, create a new partition and install your favorite OS (Linux, XP, etc.)

If you n t to use the Toshiba recovery but CD the original Microsoft CD Vista then you need to use the original series OS key that belongs to the MS Vista CD.

    Good bye

  • Problems with the current time of the progress bar reading

    First of all, a terminology.

As Adobe Flash Player is about to play a video, it shows a spinning icon in the center of the video window.  I've seen web pages which call it the beach of rotation ball.  I'll call it simply as the icon of "spinning".

Adobe Flash Player is playing a video, when we move the cursor over the video window (or moves the cursor when playing the video in full screen), we see a progress at the bottom of the window bar.  To the left of the status bar is a pause button.

The progress bar has a pointer representing the playing time in the video.  The progress bar also has a display of the playing time and duration of the video (for example, 40:37 / 01:12:35, which means that read is 40 minutes and 37 seconds in a video that lasts 72 minutes and 35 seconds).

On my Windows XP system, when Flash Player V10.0.32.18 is playing a streaming video, the video pauses when the bandwidth is temporarily insufficient to provide the video bit stream.  Rotation icon appears in the center of the video window.  Currently reading on the progress bar stops too, as it should.  But when the video continues, the playback time does not begin incrementing again.  He remains at a standstill at the time of the break, which is irritating, because it is no longer possible to say how long he remains in the video.

It took me a long time to discover that once the current play time has stalled, pressing the pause button will cause the current play time refresh to the correct playing time and begin to increase again.  Yaaayyyyyy!

Now, maybe someone can help me with a challenge that I have been unable to solve.

Occasionally, I want to save a few seconds in a video.  But if I use my mouse to get the pointer in the progress bar and move it to the back, move the pointer a few seconds is a huge challenge.  Even a slight movement of my mouse moves the pointer back a minute or two.

Is it possible to move the pointer using a key (for example, an arrow key) so that each press of button moves the pointer to return only one or two seconds?

And how about being able to key in an hour and press on enter, what causes the pointer move on time? Any way to do it?

Hi, OSW, you say that you are using XP, SP1, 2 or 3? What version of IE are you using with XP? You are speaking of two different computers or just XP? You use a different browser?

The Flash Player version is very old, who would be part of your problem as most of the sites have updated to the latest,

    who is 10.0.45.2.

In my opinion, it is the cause of everything you encounter.

After return of the news and we'll go from there.

    Thank you

  • Strange problem with the button "Enter" in Vista on Satellite P300-225

A few weeks ago I don't remember exactly when, Windows Vista on my Satellite P300-225 began to spend an incorrect applications scancode when you press the Enter key. It always sends the scancode of key keyboard, even when I hit than the alphanumeric part of the keyboard. It was working properly some time ago, but suddenly, it just started acting like that. No remapping all keys.

Since there are very few programs that Act different on these two keys, it has become quite an annoying problem.

The strangest part of it, is that the problem seems to be somehow related to Windows Vista, as the keys are properly reported on Linux.

If anyone has any idea, please let me know.

    > I'll give a try to uninstall the keyboard in SafeMode but.

  • I have a problem with the download of Windows Vista Service Pack 2.

Original title: Vista SP2 help for download

I just download Vista SP2 on my Compaq Presario PC and it seemed to install correctly.  However, after it restarted my computer, nothing happened.  The computer was on, but he was not making a noise and the screen was black (and eventually appeared in mode 'sleep').  After about 3 hours of this, I restarted my computer manually. When I turned it on the Tower made a lot of noise (sounded like a blowing fan), but the screen remained black and didn't try again to exit mode 'sleep' (even when I moved my mouse and restarted my monitor).  I am unable to do anything on my desk now, then, what can I do to fix this?

  • Problems with the modem on L40 (Vista)

    Hi guys,.

I am trying to help a friend out with his new laptop computer, as she dosen't have DSL and needs must use dial-up. I'm new to Vista so please tell me if I'm missing something obvious.

Right... I use the same cable modem and telephone line that also works on another PC, and before ask you I pluged it in the modem port and not the ethernet port. I can query the modem ok by Device Manager / modem properties. I noticed that the modem is configured for some software of Toshiba and not a comm port, is this correct? When you look at the software Toshiba itself it looks like the comm3

When I try to create a dial-up connection / use dialer I get the error that it cannot get dial tone, I also tried to change the setting so that he always tries to dial without tone, nothing helps. If it works on another PC ok, I'd say it was the cable modem or phone line.

    Any ideas?

    See you soon

  • Problems with the Visa Business for Vista Ultimate 64-bit upgrade

I have been a loyal customer of ThinkPad T for 10 years. I just got my new T500. In my efforts to save money and wanting to be the best that I bought a 2089-2KU with 2 GIG RAM, Vista Business and a core 9400 processor duo, and then I started immediately at this level to 4 GIG of RAM and Vista Ultimate 64 bit. This has not been fun and my upgrade does not work as I had hoped for. Miss me a lot of drivers after downloading everything on the sites of Lenovo, Microsoft and Intel.

Is there anyone in the community who can give me some constructive advice outside of spending $500 at a sum of $1,000 on a support, or telling me to clear the machine and buy a new one set up correctly by Lenovo in the factory?

The easy way to upgrade is to use the Vista Business 64 recovery disks. Like you bought Vista Business 32 Microsoft license is also valid for Vista Business 64. Unfortunately Lenovo support don't honor the Microsoft licensing system and refuse to embark a recovery disc Vista 64 for you if your system came with Vista 32.

But if you google on thinkpad recovery disks, you'll find U.S. resellers of spare parts online who are willing to sell you the Vista Business 64 recovery discs you need.

Restart the computer in safe mode. Some caches maintained by the system will be rebuilt.

Safe mode is much slower to start up as normal. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

If you use no FileVault 2 in OS X 10.7 ("Lion") or later version, you can restart as usual (not in safe mode) when the login screen appears. There is no need to log on in safe mode.

If you use FileVault 2 in OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan") or later version, or if you don't know if use you it, you as usual then connect in safe mode, and then restart (not in safe mode.)

If you use FileVault 2 in OS X 10.9 ("Yosemite") or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you cannot start in safe mode. In this case, request further instructions.

  • Could get a new router block printing? We had a lot of problems with the computer in the last week and a half. Bought new router and now the printer does not print. :-(

    (1) we went to DirecTV. Then the same day, our internet computer is down. I asked our current provider, Suddenlink, to let them know we had them to another - but we wanted to keep for the internet.

    (2) called DirecTV to investigate why our internet went down at the same time they installed? They said that they did nothing to cause that. We waited 5 days to make out and also install the third TV that was promised. The second tech gave things a lookover and said, once again, that there is nothing unusual during their passage to cause the problem.

    (3) called Suddenlink. They said it was the router. Called the people of Netgear. They said that the router was too old. We needed to pay an exorbitant sum for support and when I told him I'd rather just buy a new router and get free technical support for 90 days... and I personally do not have the credit cards in that time. (it's my mother s equip and I wonder it for the computer) when the guy told me that he could help and hung up on us, even though I was pleading for him to wait until I put my mother on the phone. (I'm in my 40s... not a kid).

    (4) Suddenlink called a few days later, when we got a new router (netgear brand NO!) Installed and I noticed that the 'ready' light was not 'on' on the modem. Their technology has said that he would check and call us in a few minutes. He did not.

    (5) the next day I called Suddenlink AGAIN. This time, I got a really nice customer service agent. She said she would send someone to check on it. It turns out that they had disconnected when I had called to pass only the TV.

    (6) in any case, we are finally online... only now... I can't the printer to work. :-(  This has worked before.  Could it be caused by the different router? I don't know about these things. I didn't even know what it was until someone at Radio Shack has explained to me. (I was not about to buy one at Wal-Mart - these poor people). The printer is a Canon Pixma MX340. We love him. The only thing is that it is difficult to clear the tasks or to reset. The only way to really do that is to simply pull the plug, unfortunately and restart the computer. But hey, it's a great printer, better than HP.

We are under vista. The router is a Linksys wifi (which we have) N300 model E900.

Of course I appreciate any help you can give. God bless you!

    Michelle and Ruth.

I didn't want to start a new thread, but it seems that my problem is quite unique.

When the first x 86 Vista install my speakers/headphones worked great. After Vista SP1 installed, my speakers/headphones went silent, but the pilot was still there and working properly. I uninstalled the driver and let Windows automatically install a different driver. (No Rollback was available) I could get the sound from my speakers. Speakers are the only thing that works if I plug into the headphone jack or not.

When connected to the plug headphones I have test the headphones feature in playback devices and receive nothing in the helmet.

Drivers of HP support only cut my speakers while doing my reading helmet camera disappear. Even with the updated driver.

I like to use it as a TV computer and would like the sound of the TV via the headphone jack.
