  When I boot XP I get the sound to come through the TV, but when I boot on vista I have no sound coming through.

  Unfortunately an accident my Quosmio G30-161 is no longer! -J' still have the receiver remote control and IR/usb drive. Can you advise me if it will work with other models of the Portable Media Center and not only the G30-161 that I'd like to find a home for it - or maybe buy another model that I can still use it to - (it has practically been used) - but I don't know if it is ONLY for model or if it works on all Toshiba laptops with Media Center installed. Thank you very much

  I m not 100% sure if the Qosmio G30 remote would work with all laptops with Media Center installed, but my understanding of the receiver can be connected to different models and the remote works with the IrDA receiver for sure.
  The remote control should theoretically work with other laptops too.

  I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-161 and with her, I have a Toshiba remote and a Toshiba remote control receiver, this is the first time that I used it (tried of that is), my problem is that the remote control does not work on the computer, when I press keys on the computer program does nothing.

  This remote will work, if you use it without any special drivers and special software, only in the Media Center.

  But if you install stuff like [WinLirc | winlirc.sourceforge .net] then you should be able to get some functions for your presentation.

  Please try this tool and check if it works.

  By the way: if I were you I would first read the manual and the WinLirc FAQ before you start because it s a little bit tricky to manage the program. :) (Too many parameters: D)

  I upgraded a laptop HP dv9249us for Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit) and Home Premium (32 bit) respectively of Vista and an HP HDX 18 and found that the small remote controls supplied with the PC HP no longer work the IR receiver to control WMC.  For the moment I tried to find a solution for the dv9249us, as the HDX has also a greater remote specialized for the tv tuner, which is still working, but I found that HP did not provide software Win 7 upgrade for this model.  I tried a thought fix it was to be a known side effect of the upgrade process because he appeared in two different rooms and found a HP IR driver referenced to correct this problem for another model called ENE CIR Receiver Driver (sp41645.exe) and install this on the dv9249us without result.  When you check the Device Manager on the dv9249us I have not found reference to an IR unit either in the areas of Human Interface or Universal Serial Bus controller.  I found a reference IR in the section of the Human Interface of the HD-18 referencing an ENE CIR Receiver.  Ideas that you could provide for a non-professional would be appreciated.

  Hello, I decided to trust someone w / helping me to improve the performance of the system by closing some services using msconfig, although I have some keys on my keyboard that interact w / drive DVD from Toshiba in my computer for generic commands; Play/Pause, Stop, etc to jump to chapter. These keys do not work anymore, I looked at my device manager, and the only thing I can think of that would have to do with these keys is the Microsoft eHome Remote control device keys on the keyboard.   If you had a problem with the VGA chip then the whole motherboard has been replaced.
  Maybe it has something to do with your problem.

  Anyway, as far as I know you don t need any special drivers if you want to use the MCE Remote control. For the use of the remote control with Qosmio player you need to connect a USB infrared.

  Just upgraded to Vista Home Premium to XP.  Got a Packard Bell with RF for the Media Center remote control, worked fine with XP, but is no longer compatible with Vista.  I checked the usb driver for the usb XF-10 rf remote receiver and it is fine, uninstalled and reinstalled it.  Handset was working fine a few days ago.  I also went in 'Administrator', 'services' and then active HID, but it still does not work.  Media works well, but it would be nice to have the operation of the remote control!  Not particularly computer, simply suggestions please!  Thank you, Nick.
