No sound from HP Pavilion dv7.1135nr

My sound compleely has stopped working.  I stopped and restarted.  I don't know why he stopped.  I spent next to HP and tried to search.  Suggested that I try to update audio driver Sigmatel C-Major.  I tried to download it and he told me that I had to reboot and run set up again.  I started the computer, then why should I restart?  Help, please.

The update will replace some files. so that this action to take effect, you need to restart your PC. Its normal, don't worry.

See you soon,.

  • No sound on HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit Service Pack 1.  I have NO sound what so ever!  Nothing bings, pings, ringing when I get by e-mail, turn on or off, are updated, errors etc.  I can't play music by the window / iTunes, I don't hear any sound on the videos (which also take FOREVER to play... almost as if they are buffering indefinitely).  I just tried, made sure nothing is on mute, passed through the control panel and tried to change the sounds.  I even tried to make a forum put in place and will parade a test tone when it is in the sound, but I get an error message that says "error!"  Unable to play the test tone.

I recently installed a scanner cared (about 2 weeks ago), but honestly don't remember if I had sound for a while before that.  Yesterday, I installed a new program from Nikon for a new camera, I got.  We have also reinstalled Trend Micro last Friday and have performed a thorough analysis.

  • Pavilion dv4-1540us: No Sound from speakers - Pavilion dv4-1540us

On this laptop's built-in speakers do not seem to work. I suspect that it's a hardware problem and not a Windows/driver setting as the sound is fine with headphones or external speakers, but of course I could be wrong on this matter. All the obvious settings seem to be correct. An indication of error only I see is the light the speaker on the base (above the keyboard) is amber continuously.

I checked all the Windows updates and there is no error in the Device Manager. Any ideas/suggestions on what I need to check? If additional information is needed, please let me know and I'll be happy to provide it. Thank you in advance.

Use the button at the top of this page titled "support"-click on "Download drivers" in the menu. "." Enter your model number. After you click "Go". On the next page use Option 2 to access the list of drivers. Make sure that Windows 7 is chosen if no Edit to change. A list will populate with the drivers/software.

  • Hello, I have a pavilion dv7-1135nr windows 7 BIOS F21. should I upgrade to version F49?

Currently, I do not feel any computer of hmy wit problems, but my version of BIOS F21 is obsolete. There is a BIOS more recent version F49. Should I upgarde to the last version or upgrade if I'm having a related problem BIOS?

    Thank you

    Hello:

Due to the risky nature of the BIOS flashes, it is unadvisable to Flash the BIOS just to have the last update.

It's one of those moments where you definitely need to have the attitude: 'if it's not broke, don't fix it."

What I recommend you do is to read all the BIOS release notes and see if one of them contains improvements you would like to have, or solve a problem you are experiencing.

If this is not the case, do not.

If you feel you want to Flash the BIOS, I recommend to download the flash and then restart your PC in safe mode of windows install.

In this way there is less running processes that may interfere with an update of the BIOS.

The biggest threat is your antivirus program.  Good A / V programs will think a BIOS flash is writing malicious code in your BIOS and try to stop the program from running.

That would cut the power to your PC in a flash.

The risk is high. A failed BIOS flash 99% of the time, you hear a useless PC.

  • Pavilion DV7 product #XG300AV: no sound on HP Pavilion DV7

Our laptop is about 5 years old.  It came with windows Vista with an upgrade to windows 7.  Until a month ago, we had sound.  now, we have not.  When we look at the sound bar and play music, the sound bar goes up and down, but there is no sound.  In our audio sub and stereo Device Manager: we have: audio Codec IDT high definition and ATI High Def Audio Device, HP Web Cam Splitter.

When the sound was released, we used the computer with no sound.  then all of a sudden, we got her again.  but of short duration.  then it went out again.

I uninstalled the driver of the ITD and the driver ATI. and when I turned the computer back on, they both reinstalled.  I had read somewhere that if you have windows Vista, and you upgrade to windows 7, you need a different audio drivers and I do not know where to get them.  If you think that is the problem...

Can you please help with this.  Thank you.

and links to download the drivers.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp50501-51000/sp50642.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp50501-51000/sp50557.exe

After reinstalling, stop the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click set default (if the "gray" option it will be already set as default device) - check if you now audio.

  • Pavilion Dv7-1135nr starts

This laptop was working fine and all of a sudden went black. Attempted to restart with the following results:

The sound of spinning for short period followed by lights coming on, no departure by car then Caps lock and Num lock lights began to Flash simultaneously.  Still no start.  Trying to determine if this is a repair value or the default is not worth the money to repair.

    Thank you

It is still in warranty? If this is the case, you can having repaired for free by HP. But I agree, if it's out of warranty, it may be more cost-effective to replace Notepad vs repaired.

  • Pavilion dv7-4070us Fail short DST (failure ID PKVV5g - 5525T 4 - XD003G - 60QN03)

    Hello

Last year, I bought the laptop from HP Pavilion dv7-4070us, running windows 7 64 bit. Everything was fine and dandy until recently. These days I only watched youtube videos and TV shows, when one day I turn on my computer to find that it remains on the splash screen of Windows 7 for an abnormal amount of time. This happened to me once before, but for some strange reason, (FYI: I'm tech savvy, so this question was a little weird) it was set the last time. However, unlike last time, the issue has not been resolved, the loading times still takes like 5 min or more. More when I run the diagnostic system test, the hard drive failed the short DST with the id of the fault: PKVV5g - 5525T 4 - XD003G - 60QN03.

In addition, I ran the (samsung "collaborates" with seagate) drive hard seagate diagnostic with the same result, short failure of DST, but generic long and short generic and chip is checked and passed. So I was wondering if anyone had this similar problem and how did you resolve the situation. Again, the only thing I've done recently is only go on internet to see youtube and television series/films, only changes would be updated to windows. Another think I really have not tinkered around with the system.

Searching high and low, it seems that I might have to replace the hard drive. However, I hope to not have to do it because the warranty just expired a few months ago. If someone could please answer or help I would appreciate it a lot! Happy holidays.

PS. If you need more information, just ask. Thanks again!

Failure of the DST is always in my experiences of time to replace the hard drive. Better, download your backed up files soon because sometimes the failure comes quickly after this notice.

  • Beep randomly from Pavilion dv7

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop computer I've used about 7 months now. Just today, my laptop started making random sounds of beeps. Everything seems fine (laptop boots up properly and is not yet attended BIOS problems). However, every 30 seconds or more, it makes a short beep. It's annoying and worrying as I have no idea what could be wrong with my laptop. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Then... I figured out that beep was not my computer... It was just the smoker on batteries insufficient detector and needed a battery replacement.  in any case, any ideas on how I could delete this message?

(I started this thread because I seriously thought to the noise came from my laptop.) It is similar to the sound when you open command prompt and type "Ctrl + G")
