No sound on Satellite A200-1JO

My laptop came with Windows Vista and because I need to work with specific programs, which are not compatible with Vista yet, I need to downgrade the OS to Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2.

After a long day trying to install in because of the problem with the drivers of the hard drives, I finally made a he, but there is no sound...
I downloaded all the drivers from the Toshiba site, any patches for Windows (including the SAU and Realtek Audio HD drivers), but still, I get a Code 10 error that informs me that the device cannot start.
I'm pretty tired and confused, trying to solve this problem, so I need all the help I can get...

First of all I have a question;
Update you the BIOS to the XP version?
To my knowledge, the BIOS must be adjusted on Sat A200 series if you want to use the XP operating system.

In addition, the two fixes KB888111 and KB835221 must be installed before installing the audio driver.
Then restart the laptop and try to reinstall the driver of its new

Good luck

    Hi all

I lost the sound of my laptop Satellite A200-27R. I checked with a computer engineer.
Confirm me the problem comes from the hardware store and it probably the chipset.

So, how such a problem can occur just three months after I bought?
Now he tells me to buy the new chipset and change the old.

    So can I any help?
Please send me if possible your help through my e-mail [email protected]. I live in Ethiopia Africa.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

  • Problem with driver sound on Satellite A200 under Win XP SP3

    Hi guys

I recently bought a Satellite A 200 PSAE7. I had downgraded it to Win XP.

Everything worked perfectly until last night. I restarted the laptop and I got no sound. I tried to reinstall the Realtek audio drivers, he succeeds, ask for a restart, but the sound is still not working. I tried everything, removing the drivers via Add/Remove programs and Device Manager and then put it back. When I restart it tells me 'PCI device detected"after I installed the audio drivers. But the sound does not work.

    Any advice?

The problem is that you have not installed the MS patches that are really essential.
    I'm talking about the * patch KB888111, KB835221, and *.

You must remove first the audio driver from the system.
Then you must install two corrections.
After restarting again, reinstall the audio driver that is on the page of the Toshiba driver.

    Best regards and good luck

  • Satellite A200-1AE: sound from speakers when headphones are connected

    Hello. Sorry for my English.

I have problem when I started a player (winamp player or a movie or a game with the sound) and I want to change the sound from the speaker to the helmet by plug them into the headphone jack. The sound is still speaker.

So I just restart this player or the game and then sound is switched to the headphones.

So in sum up: when I want to listen to the sound of some player I have to plug in headphones first and then start the player in order reverse, the sound is not switched to the helmet line.

In other laptops with Vista I have check this problem is not to happen.
    Do you have any suggestions?

    Hello Pawel

I have the Satellite A200 too preinstalled with recovery DVDs. I was very curious and I tested it on my laptop. In my case everything was OK. Through the use of headphones, Laptop speakers are automatically TURNED off. Remove helmet speakers work again.

I am really confused, and it is really not easy to say what the problem is here. AFAIK in headphone plug it is small, and through the use of headphones this past should disable Laptop speakers. All you can do is check if it happens after clean OS installation, maybe update the BIOS or install the latest driver sound.

Sorry, but I don't see any other possibilities. If anything maybe you must contact the service in your country. I really can't imagine that this little mixer may be defective but service may only do a check.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Satellite A200-196: can't get all speakers to work with the home theater sound Creative T7900

I run windows Vista Home premium, on my Toshiba Satellite A200-196, and I have a creative T7900 7.1 System.
I'm not all stakeholders to work. Only the woofer and two front speakers are currently playing a sound.

The sound in Control Panel option gives me the options in addition to stereo speakers.

I have no possibility to choose 5.1 or 7.1 speakers and I need to know do I need a software driver (all drivers are appearing to date), or do I have to change to another option, or buy an external sound card?

I have only two input jacks, input microphone and headphone output. How can I get all stakeholders to work and achieve the home theater experience?

    Hello

I Don t think that the sound card is capable of doing 5.1/7.1 since there are many takes longer then a "sound-output.

If I were you, I would buy an external USB soundcard that is capable of doing 5.1 or 7.1 to offer you experience complete home theater.

Another solution is not existing. Sorry mate.

  • Satellite A200 PSAE3: Windows XP Home edition do not recognize the modem and sound card

    Hi all!

I can't understand what is the problem with my Satellite A200 (PSAE3)... I downloaded all the files on the right of the Toshiba Download Center, updated the BIOS to WXP but XP still not find any sound card or any modem. He isn't finding a device with a "?" question mark on this...

There are so many different drives, I tried, but no one has changed the situation...
    Anyone has any advice?

    Thanks in advance,

    ciroopi

Well, I found the solution to the problem! :)

so, I write these verses down for anyone who might know the same problems:

as usual, strictly follow the 'Toshiba A200 Installation sequence' found on the TOshiba driver download page.
as he [I jumped no useful installation programs]

I advice restart you each time you install a component, in order to have under control the whole Exchange.

    1 Windows XP Service Pack2 (RTM) - of course ;) -.
    [...]
    DirectX V9.0c 5 (SP2)
    Windows Media Player 10 V10.00.00.4036 6
    [...]
    10 Microsoft .NET Framework V1.1.4322 (SR1)
    11 Sun Java 2 Runtime Environment V1.6.0
    12 Intel ICH8M Chipset utility V8.2.0.1014
    13 Intel VGA driver 6.14.10.4833 965GM

Note that driver VGA, the ATI we too, was also a difficulty - in fact, I don't know what it would have done - for the AUDIO sound card.
You may have read in the installation dialog box.

Moreover, I do not know if you must install the sun java, .NET framework and WMP version that displays the list, versions that are OLDER than the most recent, but just to be sure, download the form versions THAT NET.

at this point, you should see "unknown PCI device" in the unknown devices in the system control panel.

    14 Realtek ALC268 Audio Driver V5.10.0.5433

for realtek, I suggest you download the driver from the zip from the realtek download page; Once extracted from the latest version for desktop or a temp directory, I suggest to install before all the patch KB888111 you might find in the \WDM_Rxxx\MSHDQFE.

    then restart.

for now, you should not see the "unknown PCI device" no more where it was before, but under the "system devices", like her, where you could also end the "Intel PCI Express Root Port", "Pci Bus" and so on [ja? m saying this to you because ja? m Italian aid of XP, and I don't remember the exact English names...].

Now, install the audio drivers by using the setup.exe that you find in the \WDM_Rxxx directory.
It should reinstall the kbfix and install the new drivers.

    Reset.

After the reboot, nothing happens, but...

.. see the "unknown pci device" menu - here? m not sure the name but the one with the exclamation mark in the 'system devices' - select 'Properties' and then 'driver' and 'update driver'. Let XP find the NOT on the net. tell XP to look for "Video and Audio Controller, game" [you know, the English entry that usually stands for device audio and similar] and he must find a CORRESPONDING driver, which is the "MICROSOFT UAA BUS DRIVER for HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO".
If XP don't select this driver by itself, you should look for "\windows\system32\DRIVERS\hdaudbus.sys".

After that, XP automatically detects ALL audio devices and install the correct drivers.
In addition, it now the entrance to the modem, modem to install the separate driver, that we could find in down in the "list system", like her, on the Toshiba download page.

    So, hope this helps!

    See you soon,.

  • Re: Satellite A200 makes ' click on ' sounds

    Hello!

I have a similar problem with my Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop, but the speakers work well. I can hear a "click" as the speakers would be marketing (and they really do).

This only happens when I use the computer on battery power and I chose the power plan 'normal use '. In this case either if I switch to a power supply or if I chose the "High performance" power plan

The problem is that the speakers seems to enter standby after being idle for 30 seconds. I tried to change the option to on purpose of PCI, but it changed nothing. I can't find the power setting to keep the speakers on. Any idea? It is very annoying...

Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium.
    Speakers: Realtek.

    Thanks for any help.

I've never heard of speakers automatically goes into standby mode if no music the amplifier must be in a State of rest anyway.
It is possible that you are picking up the sound of the microphone plug which is very sensitive to electrical activity.
As a suggestion, try to turn off the microphone of the sound engineer and see if that helps.

  • No sound in my headphones on the Satellite A200 - 22 c

    I have a toshiba Satellite A200 - 22 c with Realtek HD driver 5.10.00.5296, DirectX 9 .0c and ALC268 codec.
I have nice sound in my speakers, but when I conect my headphones, the sound does not pass by them.
The headset works OK in the other PC.

    Can you help me?
    Thank you

    Hello

What OS do you use or how you have installed?

    Are you still using Vista?
If so, access the control panel and go to the Realtek HD audio Manager.

The first speakers tab provides an option on the right. You should see a yellow folder.
Please click it and check if this option is NOT selected.

Then plug in the headphones. Please make sure that you use the right sleeve!
After the headset is connected the Green Plug should highlights.

This means that your headphones have been recognized correctly.

    Please check this!

  • Two sound related queries on Satellite A200

    Hi all
First of all, I accidentally deleted the built in microphone from the list of devices for registration on laptop Satellite A200. Any ideas on how I can restore it?

Secondly, I often play audio files from the laptop through an external speaker using taking spdif on the front of the machine. I have noticed, especially when the laptop is running off the battery voltage, which if playback is stopped a moment, then restarted the sound takes a minute or two to get through.
The card internal sound has some kind of capability (turns off during periods of non-use) of economy of energy and if so is in any case to turn off this function and keep the audio live permanently.

    TIA,

    Ross

    Hi Ross

Try to use the System Restore tool. I just hope that, on this way, you will be able to use the microphone again.
To be honest, this power of the card its economy capacity is unclear to me.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 M 5: sounds from the HARD disk that is not regular

    Dear,

I bought a new Satellite A200 - 1 M 5 1 week there are, but I have noticed a noise coming from your hard drive that is not regular, whenever the drive is currently in use, there is a noise from him. It's weird, I had Satellite phones precedents and never faced that.
is this normal in this series of satellites? or damage my hard drive? Although it works very well so far.

If anyone has an idea about this, please let me know it.

    Appreciate it.

    THX
    Salim

    > Whenever the drive is currently in use, there is a noise from him. It's weird
Who is normal behavior that the HARD drive makes sounds while working.
On some disks, the sound is louder and some drives are quieter.

My laptop comes with a 100 GB HARD drive and I noticed that this HARD drive work harder than the previous 40 GB HARD disk.

I don t think that there might be a problem with your HARD drive. It of new.
So, in my opinion you should t be worried.

and if the HARD drive is going to die your warranty covers the replacement ;)
