Two sound related queries on Satellite A200

Hi all
First of all, I accidentally deleted the built in microphone from the list of devices for registration on laptop Satellite A200. Any ideas on how I can restore it?

Secondly, I often play audio files from the laptop through an external speaker using taking spdif on the front of the machine. I have noticed, especially when the laptop is running off the battery voltage, which if playback is stopped a moment, then restarted the sound takes a minute or two to get through.
The card internal sound has some kind of capability (turns off during periods of non-use) of economy of energy and if so is in any case to turn off this function and keep the audio live permanently.

TIA,

Ross

Hi Ross

Try to use the System Restore tool. I just hope that, on this way, you will be able to use the microphone again.
To be honest, this power of the card its economy capacity is unclear to me.

    Hi all

I lost the sound of my laptop Satellite A200-27R. I checked with a computer engineer.
Confirm me the problem comes from the hardware store and it probably the chipset.

So, how such a problem can occur just three months after I bought?
Now he tells me to buy the new chipset and change the old.

    So can I any help?
Please send me if possible your help through my e-mail [email protected]. I live in Ethiopia Africa.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

    Hello!

You tired to update the audio driver? You can find all the drivers and updates for the BIOS on the Toshiba site:

Do you have the yellow marks in Device Manager?

  • Re: Satellite A200 - sound beep after startup

    Hello world

Recently my laptop has started to be malfuntioning.
Yesterday, after the start (or when you take it out of fashion 'sleep'), it started beeping.

Beep, it's 10 minutes in a row, fast.

I run a stock standard Satellite A200 Windows Vista Help.
I don't know what to do, and over the ringtone (which lasts about 10-15 minutes) I can't do anything - the CPU (I think) simply cannot handle all of the processes. The ringtone comes from the right side of the laptop and is fake, but certainly a sign of a problem.

I believe it has something to do with the motherboard, but I don't know how to diagnose this problem, and after hours of research I have not found someone with a similar problem to mine.

I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, also the advice to confused and I just can't find a support technique one.

    Help, please
    Victor11

    Hello

If I understand your problem, it seems that you are not able to enter the BIOS and you are not able to boot the operating system Window.
You don't see that the home screen Toshiba so is good?

Hmm, it seems that this sound signal is related to a hardware malfunction
Then maybe the POST (power on self-test) cannot be spent properly and so you get this alert beep

What to say; in most cases it mother s associated with, but it is difficult to say which could be exactly wrong

    Maybe you can try this;
Remove the battery and unplug the power adapter for a few hours
Wait and after a while connect the two parts again
Then try again to turn the unit

If this does not work, then I would recommend asking a technician help in ASP.

    Satellite A200 (PSAE3E)

    Hello

First of all, it would be interesting to know if you have already tried to reinstall the operating system on this laptop.
I want to say that these two issues could be related to software problems

The windows OS should receive and install Microsoft update without worries, and if this is not possible a software problem is possible.

I put t know if some important system files are confusing upward or if a register issues causes bother but I m sure that Vista should receive patches and updates correctly after reinstalling again.

Therefore, it would be desirable to test this! Before you start the recovery procedure to backup your important data!

    Good luck

  • Satellite A200-196: can't get all speakers to work with the home theater sound Creative T7900

I run windows Vista Home premium, on my Toshiba Satellite A200-196, and I have a creative T7900 7.1 System.
I'm not all stakeholders to work. Only the woofer and two front speakers are currently playing a sound.

The sound in Control Panel option gives me the options in addition to stereo speakers.

I have no possibility to choose 5.1 or 7.1 speakers and I need to know do I need a software driver (all drivers are appearing to date), or do I have to change to another option, or buy an external sound card?

I have only two input jacks, input microphone and headphone output. How can I get all stakeholders to work and achieve the home theater experience?

    Hello

I Don t think that the sound card is capable of doing 5.1/7.1 since there are many takes longer then a "sound-output.

If I were you, I would buy an external USB soundcard that is capable of doing 5.1 or 7.1 to offer you experience complete home theater.

Another solution is not existing. Sorry mate.

  • No sound after question sleep & network on the Satellite A200 - 14 d

    Hello

again satellite a200 14 d vith Vista Home Premium, and there are two annoying problems:

    1. very often, but not in every time, when I close the lid to put the computer in sleep mode - after I opened (continued) even once, the icon in the status bar shows me, that there is "no audio device" (Red Cross on the speaker) and so the laptop is totally not mute - no possible to sound (except way loud and unexpected "grinding" of the disk hard suprisigly hehe - grrrrr...).
Sometimes it helps just to close and open the lid, but most of the cases I had to restart the computer.
Of course, I downloaded the latest driver realtek audio from this site, but does not help.

    2. also very often my network freezes. I currently use the UMTS connection on mobile phone - Bluetooth; He stops just in some sort of work itself; If I click on the shortcut icon 'dial-up' nothing happens, also if I right click on the network in the status bar icon - nothing, and if I go to control panel - network & sharing the computer freezes completely, while I have to turn it off by longpushing the switch.

    Who can help? Thank you!

  • Satellite A200 - 14 d sounds random beeps

    Hi all

My Toshiba Satellite a200 - 14 d sounds a strong tone, randomly, once almost weekly or every 2 weeks.

Sometimes while I'm working, or even when it is idle.

It appears to be either the motherboard DVD ROM. I think it is the CPU, but I don't know about you, it always surprises me.

    Any suggestions or advice?

    Thanks in advance!

    Kind regards

    Hello

I talked to several technicians of laptop on his similar problems, but it is really not easy to say why these beeps appear.

All the guys who mean everything first it of important to recovery of the laptop with the recovery CD to see if its hardware or software related issue.
If the same tone appears after the installation of the new portable equipment could malfunctions.

But as I said above, it might be
So in my opinion the laptop must be verified by a Toshiba ASP because these beeps are highly unusual.
Your guarantee seems to be valid. That is why everything has to be done for free!

  • Satellite A200-1AE: sound from speakers when headphones are connected

    Hello. Sorry for my English.

I have problem when I started a player (winamp player or a movie or a game with the sound) and I want to change the sound from the speaker to the helmet by plug them into the headphone jack. The sound is still speaker.

So I just restart this player or the game and then sound is switched to the headphones.

So in sum up: when I want to listen to the sound of some player I have to plug in headphones first and then start the player in order reverse, the sound is not switched to the helmet line.

In other laptops with Vista I have check this problem is not to happen.
    Do you have any suggestions?

    Hello Pawel

I have the Satellite A200 too preinstalled with recovery DVDs. I was very curious and I tested it on my laptop. In my case everything was OK. Through the use of headphones, Laptop speakers are automatically TURNED off. Remove helmet speakers work again.

I am really confused, and it is really not easy to say what the problem is here. AFAIK in headphone plug it is small, and through the use of headphones this past should disable Laptop speakers. All you can do is check if it happens after clean OS installation, maybe update the BIOS or install the latest driver sound.

Sorry, but I don't see any other possibilities. If anything maybe you must contact the service in your country. I really can't imagine that this little mixer may be defective but service may only do a check.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Satellite A200 - no sound using headphones

The headphones not cut the speakers when connected to Satellite A200 - 14 D. No sound in the headphones.
    Could you please help me?

    Kind regards

    Hello Aurelien

I don't think driver update will help and it's probably mechanics problem. In the headphone port, there is little switch that should disable the functionality of s intervening every time when you want to headphones.

Sorry, but I don't think you can do something alone. With short words: I think that the helmet is defective.

  • Satellite A200 PSAE3: Windows XP Home edition do not recognize the modem and sound card

    Hi all!

I can't understand what is the problem with my Satellite A200 (PSAE3)... I downloaded all the files on the right of the Toshiba Download Center, updated the BIOS to WXP but XP still not find any sound card or any modem. He isn't finding a device with a "?" question mark on this...

There are so many different drives, I tried, but no one has changed the situation...
    Anyone has any advice?

    Thanks in advance,

    ciroopi

Well, I found the solution to the problem! :)

so, I write these verses down for anyone who might know the same problems:

as usual, strictly follow the 'Toshiba A200 Installation sequence' found on the TOshiba driver download page.
as he [I jumped no useful installation programs]

I advice restart you each time you install a component, in order to have under control the whole Exchange.

    1 Windows XP Service Pack2 (RTM) - of course ;) -.
    [...]
    DirectX V9.0c 5 (SP2)
    Windows Media Player 10 V10.00.00.4036 6
    [...]
    10 Microsoft .NET Framework V1.1.4322 (SR1)
    11 Sun Java 2 Runtime Environment V1.6.0
    12 Intel ICH8M Chipset utility V8.2.0.1014
    13 Intel VGA driver 6.14.10.4833 965GM

Note that driver VGA, the ATI we too, was also a difficulty - in fact, I don't know what it would have done - for the AUDIO sound card.
You may have read in the installation dialog box.

Moreover, I do not know if you must install the sun java, .NET framework and WMP version that displays the list, versions that are OLDER than the most recent, but just to be sure, download the form versions THAT NET.

at this point, you should see "unknown PCI device" in the unknown devices in the system control panel.

    14 Realtek ALC268 Audio Driver V5.10.0.5433

for realtek, I suggest you download the driver from the zip from the realtek download page; Once extracted from the latest version for desktop or a temp directory, I suggest to install before all the patch KB888111 you might find in the \WDM_Rxxx\MSHDQFE.

    then restart.

for now, you should not see the "unknown PCI device" no more where it was before, but under the "system devices", like her, where you could also end the "Intel PCI Express Root Port", "Pci Bus" and so on [ja? m saying this to you because ja? m Italian aid of XP, and I don't remember the exact English names...].

Now, install the audio drivers by using the setup.exe that you find in the \WDM_Rxxx directory.
It should reinstall the kbfix and install the new drivers.

    Reset.

After the reboot, nothing happens, but...

.. see the "unknown pci device" menu - here? m not sure the name but the one with the exclamation mark in the 'system devices' - select 'Properties' and then 'driver' and 'update driver'. Let XP find the NOT on the net. tell XP to look for "Video and Audio Controller, game" [you know, the English entry that usually stands for device audio and similar] and he must find a CORRESPONDING driver, which is the "MICROSOFT UAA BUS DRIVER for HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO".
If XP don't select this driver by itself, you should look for "\windows\system32\DRIVERS\hdaudbus.sys".

After that, XP automatically detects ALL audio devices and install the correct drivers.
In addition, it now the entrance to the modem, modem to install the separate driver, that we could find in down in the "list system", like her, on the Toshiba download page.

    So, hope this helps!

    See you soon,.

    Francesco

I need to know if there is a problem with my laptop, because I think that she was not working fast enough.

Yes, it seems this is a common problem of Vista.
At first my laptop L30 CPU is recognized as two different processors with different speeds.
You must remove the CPU of the Device Manager and have to restart the laptop.

After reboot new and new CPU Device Manager installation displays the correct speed ;)

  • Re: Satellite A200 makes ' click on ' sounds

    Hello!

I have a similar problem with my Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop, but the speakers work well. I can hear a "click" as the speakers would be marketing (and they really do).

This only happens when I use the computer on battery power and I chose the power plan 'normal use '. In this case either if I switch to a power supply or if I chose the "High performance" power plan

The problem is that the speakers seems to enter standby after being idle for 30 seconds. I tried to change the option to on purpose of PCI, but it changed nothing. I can't find the power setting to keep the speakers on. Any idea? It is very annoying...

Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium.
    Speakers: Realtek.

    Thanks for any help.

I've never heard of speakers automatically goes into standby mode if no music the amplifier must be in a State of rest anyway.
It is possible that you are picking up the sound of the microphone plug which is very sensitive to electrical activity.
As a suggestion, try to turn off the microphone of the sound engineer and see if that helps.
