No sound with Toshiba Satellite

My laptop was working fine.

I took it to a friend so she could plug him some speakers that she bought for a party. She covers them and they do not work. Now my speakers on the laptop work either, nor do speakers of mine that I used before. I don't know anything about, but through 'search' on the internet, I decided to download the new drivers.

There is nothing. Because I'm impulsive, I reformatted my computer. Still nothing. I had given up hope, but a few minutes ago my laptop emitted a high-pitched beep, leading me to believe that there may still be a chance. Everything seems fine to me, a layman. When I open the audio icon thing, there is a little green bar bouncing up and down, which I think is good.

Any help?

Hello

I would like to know what model of laptop you have. Is this old laptop model?

Because your impulsive reaction you did the right thing. If you have installed the OS via Toshiba recovery CD/DVD everything should work fine with the factory settings. Of course, if there is no hardware malfunction.

Please check once more in If Device Manager sound card is properly installed.
Retest with helmet. Be also sure THAT MUTE option is disabled (FN + ESC). Check the volume control button. Maybe is up to minimum level.

Please post the results.

  • Sound on Toshiba Satellite L755 - 1J9 PSK2YE problems

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L755-1J9 PSK2YE maybe it's coincidence but was upgraded to Windows 10 and stopped working the audio.
Thinking that it was Windows 10, Formate of the computer and install Windows 7 but still the same, the sound works for 5 minutes and cut until you put another video.
If I connect a headphone or Audio HDMI is not cut ever.

I noticed it happened to most Toshiba laptops, but I found no solution. Anyone know any solution?

I got into ubuntu to test the audio and the same thing, to five minutes run out sound until you put another video.

Control Panel, and then properties of speakers then 'Advanced' tab. This is a drop down menu where you can change "bit depth". By default as it the 16-bit value (CD-quality) and all I had to do was change in 24-bit (Studio quality) :)

  • Problem of sound with Windows8 Satellite A300-1 ms

last month I italled win8 in my laptop. The problem is that sound does not work!

    anyone whith the same problem?

    desperate!

    Hello

If the sound does not work, it means that you have not installed the audio driver.
AFAIK the A300-1MS supports the Realtek ALC268 audio chip.
If you should download audio Manager Realtek Realtek HD page and should install it.

  • Green screen with Toshiba Satellite C75D-A

Hi Alicia, don't mean to raise an old issue of 2 months, but what described you exactly Word for Word is EXACTLY the problem I have in Windows 8. Exactly. I can't right click videos to disable "hardware acceleration" either. Using software rendering instead of the GPU also tends to not work. I had this problem about 3 months after the purchase of laptop. Which is a Toshiba so its different than yours. Updated all drivers (which is a pain on Toshiba) and have tried everything. Don't be fooled by quick fixes, generally restart, waiting and what not he will restore the videos but they always back to green screens.

The ONLY thing that did a temporary fix, and even if it didn't work 100%, maybe like 75% is go to advanced options in IE and hit the "reset" button, then restart my computer. Unfortunately, I have to go and redo all my settings, which is a pain, but which sometimes fix it.

The videos that this is the case, unfortunately, are all types of video, not just adobe. YouTube videos, video advertising on the side of web pages even. I'm still trying to find a solution to this for 8 months. The only satisfaction I get, is that videos inexplicably start working again after a day. If you can't find a permanent solution, I'd love to hear it.

The real problem is that your graphics drivers are buggy.  Disable hardware acceleration allows you to work around the problem, but we are doing all of this treatment on the main CPU, which means you use more resources system and power to do the job.

If you run Windows Update automatically, you can check just for graphics driver updates periodically and toggle this setting to see if the problem goes away.  You can also notify Toshiba, as an increase in the volume of requests for information helps to learn more about the problems in the field and to give priority to these kinds of patches.

  • Toshiba Satellite with no sound Win 7 HP running

I have recently upgraded the OS on my Toshiba Satellite from Vista HP SP2 from Win 7 HP.  During the upgrade, I've changed the HARD drive to a SDS-more on this later.  During the successful installation of Win 7 HP-Microsoft really improved the installation process (I remember Windows 3.1 and the sequential insertion without end of the diskettes).  The new system works like a charm EXCEPT waking the computer from sleep.  The noise disappeared.   I've updated;  rolled back;  reinstalled audio drivers to the original manufacturer driver.  Still no positive result.  The only resolution is to reboot which takes all of about 30 seconds with the SDS.  This is not really acceptable since everything I'm getting must be closed/re-opened when the laptop is back.

I don't mean to change to another manufacturer of the computer, I want to solve this problem.  I'm tenacious, I'm sure that if I'm having problems others are also good too.  We put our collective thinking caps together to solve this problem.

    Hogwash. It is misleading.

You can use the tab Ccleaner registry with no ill effects. You also have the option to go back IF you have a problem. It is a registry cleaner that IS safe to use. If not, why is it so popular and widely recommended?

It can also get rid of a lot of scrap surplus registry strings where UN-installers did not fully do their job.
However, for the Post Op number two is the way to go. Go to the Toshiba website, look for the support page for your machine, download and install the specific audio drivers for W7. If there is none, you can try installing the Vista drivers in compatibility mode - you can get a certain amount of nombreauses.
    See you soon,.

  • Toshiba Satellite: Toshiba Satellite - no sound

I'm so tired of trying the same thing over and over again in order to get the sound on my Toshiba Satellite laptop. When I try to play music, everything seems to work fine, except no sound from internal speakers or headphones. In the device Mgr it was simply listed as yellow device-no high definition audio marks, etc. I noticed that when I stay on the audio icon, it says headphones instead of speakers and it keeps defaulting to 67% in volume. It has been activated and of course Windows is unable to find a better driver. I used each troubleshooting tool that I could find. Finally, I decided to uninstall the device HD Audio and download Realtek audio device. Well, all of a sudden my "speaker" icon returned instead of headphones. I'm so excited until I noticed that my newly installed audio device has already been set to 67 percent in volume and my despair, I see things playing and that this device works properly, permits, etc. etc. I tried the activation of the service, I tried command prompt, reset the defaults in the bios. I recently installed a different operating system, so no restore beyond beginning of the problem points and no option for total recovery. I went through the Microsoft tools and forums, Toshiba, Realtek, Conexant and so on. I don't know because my teenage son decided to take off the stickers on the back, so far as I know is exact Toshiba Satellite model laptop. Everyone always tells me the same solutions, but, first of all, I'm pretty tech savvy and knew to try in the first place most of their suggestions and also knew that it did not help. It's so frustrating because you'd think there was someone out there who could tell me why I have no sound. And Yes, each external switch, etc I can find, the volume control is turned on.

    Help!

    Hello

I don'r think they could not help. Anyway, please try to activate the playback device

    1. a click right icon "speaker" (right)
    2. Select playback device
    3. click right speakers
    4 activate and as default
    5. click apply/OK

    Best regards and good luck.

Note: I think that this machine could be to less than 6 years and can be taken in the hardware problem account. Please check with a repairman.

  • Re: Satellite U300 - 13 k - no sound with Vista

    Hello

    I formatted my psu30e toshiba Satellite u300 - 13 k with a vista 32-bit sp1.
I had installed the driver so I had my local and wireless network as well as vga, but what lack us is the sound.

I downloaded the audio driver off driver downloads, but still not getting whatever it is, no idea why this is happening?

    Hello

Which operating system was installed before?
    Was this Win XP?

If you have installed the Realtek audio driver and if there is no yellow exclamation point in Device Manager then it means that your sound chip was recognized correctly and sound should work.
In your case I recommend that you check the sound options such as mute and volume controls in the Panel-> Control Panel and sound-> Realtek HD audio manager.
