No WiFi - HP Pavillion

HA Pavilion 15-n097sa

8.1 Windows 64-bit

I've had this laptop for a few months now, but have never really had to use the WiFi - now I need WiFi I find the laptop does not connect to my router, it displays also no WiFi network. I opened Device Manager/network adapters and the wireless adapter is apparently up to date and working correctly. The card is a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n wifi adapter. The laptop is just a few steps from the router so should easily receive the signal, my Android shows the power of the router signal at 100% with a speed of 150 Mbps.

I have no idea why the laptop does not connect to WiFi, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Right now, it is difficult to determine if the problem is hardware or software. To determine this, I would like you to reinstall the operating system. It will clarify all software conflict and allow to start over, probably on Windows 8.

First of all, please make sure that you back up your files. Here is information on how to proceed: backup of files (Windows 8)

Once this is done, it is safe to reinstall the operating system. Performing a recovery of HP (Windows 8) system

Once that is done, use Windows 8 for awhile. If the same situation occurs on Windows 8, the risk computer has a faulty hardware. At this time, please contact HP phone support. You can use this Web site for information about how to contact HP properly, based on your region: Contact HP worldwide

Please let me know what happens. Thank you!

    Hey @Japhetshan,

I understand that you are experiencing you encounter some difficulties to connect your laptop in WiFi and I want to help.

Here is a list of steps that solve common problems with wireless connectivity.

First of all, we have a step by step guide to guide you through the process of diagnosis here:
Troubleshooting your wireless network and Internet access

A second option is to try the following steps:
    Network power cycle:
    1. turn off your laptop.
    2. unplug the power to your router.
    3. disconnect the power to your modem.
    4. wait at least 45 seconds.
5 reconnect the modem and wait for it to come back online.
6 plug in the router and wait for it to come back online.
    7. turn on your laptop and test your connection.

Turn off the power to the adapter:
    1. open Device Manager. (Win Key + R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
    2. expand the network adapters.
    3. right click on the Ethernet adapter / wireless, and then click Properties.
    4. click on the power management tab.
5 remove the check mark next to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    6. click on OK.
    7 test cycle.

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

It can also help to reset the winsock catalog:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes, and then press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

    Reinstall the NIC drivers:
    1. download the drivers from here , but do not run them again.
    2. go to your Start menu/screen and type Device Manager.
    3. expand network adapters.
    4. right click on the wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
5 install the drivers downloaded in step 1.
    6. restart your PC and test.

    Test an Ethernet connection:
Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.

    Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.

If these steps do not resolve the problem, try this document published by Microsoft for network management issues: wired and wireless network problems. You can change the operating system with the drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the document.

The above steps are presented by @Great-Christine-Tree

I hope this helps. If so, please hit the Thumbs Up and accept as a Solution.

    See you soon,.

That's your problem... Your Atheros wireless card needs drivers, which I have provided the link below.

  • Pavillion 17334: hp pavillion could not find the second time warner wifi

My wifi has two different connections. One is a 2.4 G and the other is a 5G. My HP Pavilion sees the 2.4 G, but not the 5G. How it connects to the 5G? I tried setting up manually, but it still does not work.

    Hello:

Most likely, the (card) wireless network adapter is only a single card band (2.4 GHz) only.

If you let me know which model of laptop wireless card is, I confirm my opinion on the matter.

If you are unsure which model of your laptop wireless network card has, go to Device Manager, expand the category cards network and you will find the model number and name of the wireless network adapter.

Or, you can confirm yourself... If the model suffix ends with b/g/n, the map only works on the 2.4 GHz band.

    Double band (2.4 GHz/5.0 GHz) Wireless-N cards have suffixes ending in a, b, g, d or a/g/n.

    Help, please!

    Hey @Nidhi_Verma,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! This is a great question other clients may also wonder; Please click the accept as a Solution, if you feel helps you to this post, or could help others.

My first suggestion would be to use the wireless network troubleshooting and Internet tool. At the bottom it will ask you questions to help you diagnose the problem.

Have you tried to restore the BIOS?

How long it has spent for?

Have you tried to do a system restore to a time when there is no present problem?

I understand that you receive an error message that says: "there could be a problem with the driver for the adapter Wi - Fi. Windows could not automatically bind the Protocol IP on the network card stack. »

Please try to uninstall the driver in Device Manager by using the following steps:

    • Go to the Device Manager.
    • Expand network adapters.
    • Right-click on all NICs individually.
    • Click on uninstall.
    • Restart the laptop twice.

If so far, none of these steps have helped, I suggest that you take a look at the document troubleshooting wireless network and Internet and follow each step from end to end.

Please use the HP Support Assistant network diagnostics or tool Internet and Windows network and if you need help, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please re-post with the results of the resolution of the problems. Please remember that you can show your appreciation by clicking thumbs-up.

    Thank you!

    function + F12 does nothing.

removing the broadcam wifi and restarting brings just it back right.

update the Windows says that the best driver already installed...

any help will be greatly appreciated-thanks in advance!

It came from what the original hard drive started failing, replaed with a SSD and bumped the ram up to 16 GB (at a time of Crucial) and ordered HP Recovery Media kit 67889-002-cd1 and 683958-b22 and if they follow-up procedure, the result would not start as the dod kit come with a boot disk to continue with a restore bootable , I aircrcrack a free 10 WIndows upgrade-following clean install and started in windows 10 successfully with declared wifi and blue tooth issues.   BIOS has been improved in troubleshooting the original drive and see updates.  I have installed and run sp74656...

    It is a dv6-6c10us (A6Y49UA #ABA)

Thanks for your instructions detailed, I followed each in explicit order and still no wifi or bluetooth, so everything worked fine before the hard drive has begun to show intelligent questions, I decided to give the system recovery try together, I bought one another, or ten years...  Eventually I succeeded and adds this post of my DV6 on my network wireless thanks to recovery fully functioning of Windows 7!  The question proved that the recovery program would not attribute a system partition large enough to hold all of Windows 7. He would not move (or be fixed with manipulation) that he was trying to put a gallon into a pint container.

It took me three attempts to penetrate deeply enough in what had happened to see it happen, but the recovery media composed three partitions-a great unallocated one or two small (from memory less than 100 MB) entire system and recovery.  Although the size of partition extended in every attempt, they were never big enough to contain everything they were supposed to.  Once I used a Windows 7 Home Premium disk to initiate a clean install and then set the partiction to a blank disc size manually and then run the recovery everything falls into place!   You might wonder why I didin't simply ise Windows 7 install from disk... too many exclamation points in Device Manager! -No driver found - nothing worked (worse than windows 10)... I could not update or import from the application and driver recovery CD that accompanied the system recovery media either! Therefore, I ran through the recovery process and it worked! Number 10 Windows always is the lack of a legacy driver appropriate for the wifi equipment, but ultimately the support of Windows 7 recovery worked and the laptop is perfectly to the point!   As soon as I finished posting here and sew all of HP and windows updates I will establish a recovery image and do.  I appreciate your help and hope, which has been posted here will help someone else - and save them time!

  • Pavillion DV6 with newly installed Windows 7 keeps giving up wifi connection

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion DV6z-1100 with an Atheros wireless adapter.  It was running Vista 64 and I have just updated, do not replace one update, Windows 7 64.  The WiFi was working until I installed the new operating system, but now the connection keeps dropping.  The system connects to my router, but after about a minute.  It will be then plug back in and let it go without ever stay connected for more than a minute or two.

However, it is not the connection between my laptop and my router is down.  My laptop says that the connection between my router and the internet is a failure, even if I have four other devices connected at this time that has not experienced any problems.  I checked that the drivers were later and tried connecting with the firewall disabled.  I have not updated the bios.

    Any idea on next steps?

    Thank you.

    Hello:

  • Have a Pavillion DV ^-3250us, Win 7, 64 Bit. WIFI does not illuminate

Wireless won't turn on; wired connection is fine.

HP wireless Asst says that the wireless is activated by the keyboard. Steady orange light & does not illuminate.

If I turn off the power & remove the battery, I can get a blue light when I turn on the PC.

But then the PC wants to update the driver.  When she did this, the problem returns.

Before replacing the BIOS, I decided to try something less drastic.

(Always to play with the BIOS that makes me sick at heart)

I noticed that the driver installation always fails.

But before the boot process that took well to the long, I noticed that I could turn the wireless card on & turn off with the F12 key.

But once the initialization is completed, the card might be disabled.

Therefore, I have concluded that the material of the wireless card was probably good.

Then, I deleted the driver and let Windows update select the BIOS install.

The next round of selected SW another update driver to install; and now everything works.

So something must have gotten corrupted and caused the wrong driver to settle.

Solve problems by either restart your wireless router or by connecting to a different SSID, as in a cafeteria. It may be necessary to see if there is a problem in the configuration of your router.
