None of my dvds/cds run

every time I have install a dvd or a cd it will not play. tried to update the driver but said most current is instlled. also will not allow a cancellation for driver. could this be a hardware vs software prob?

Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often the
all operations which solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then check the cables
both ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power
and contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the system manufacturer
and the manufacturer of the device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD &)
Burn DVDs and CDs and read DVDs). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational parts while
others do it properly.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
the parameters.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

CD/DVD drive someone with the same model.

    Hello SanjuSS,

If this still happens after two distinct formats, then you may very well be hardware problems here.

There are diagnoses of material that accompanies this disc and can we run them.

It would be wise to contact the manufacturer at this time.

    Hello

I don't know what model of laptop you have, but Toshiba has designed the small tool for such purposes. It is quiet acoustics. When you watch a DVD Movie or when you listen to music CDs, you can switch to silent mode and you will not hear the DVD player works.

Visit the Toshiba support page and check if this tool is also available for your laptop model.

  • Open Wen to crack DVDs CDs that I turn on my computer

Wen I turn on my computer the dvd cd slot open, does not keep close

    Hello

    1. what operating system is installed on the computer?

If you use Windows 7, then you can try the steps below and check if the problem persists.

It is possible for a software open and close your disc tray. If the drawer opens by itself while in a program like CD/DVD burning program, it is a normal function of the program.

    Step 1:

However, if the tray is opening at random by itself, it is possible that another program installed on the computer is at the origin of the problem. To determine if this is the cause, if you are running Microsoft Windows Start computer in Safe Mode.

Let the computer Safe Mode, if the drawer then eject in Safe Mode that you meet one of the other below situations.

    Step 2:

However, if the tray is not ejected in Mode safe, it is likely a program running on your computer is causing your problem.

I recommend you perform the clean boot.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

Damaged disk or other object in the player

If a disk has become loose in the back of the car or another object was put in the player, it can cause the drive tray eject at random.

Use a flashlight and shine in the drive to try to determine if a disk is stuck in the drive or any other object is in the drive.

If a disc is stuck in the drive, try using a pair of pliers to tapered spout and remove the disc. If you are concerned about damage to the drive (if not already corrupted) you can consider removing the drive and remove the drive.

    Note:

Disk drives are not intended to be open and unmount the drive will void the warranty and in some cases can damage the drive. Please contact the computer manufacturing to get assistance in this matter.

    Other hardware malfunction

Finally, if you have tried all of the above recommendations and the status bar continues to eject randomly we suggest to replace the disk. It is likely that a component in the drive is bad or failing.

  • Satellite Pro L300 series-player Dvd slow running and jumping

    Hello

Having really annoying problems with the DVD player on my laptop. I watched a DVD long enough last night on this matter (about 5 hours!) and it was fine. Now today when I came to watch something else on this subject, it is slow really. It took about 10 minutes to start, and I continued to hear 3 beeps followed by slightly stronger than his usual purr! I just got to work, but now it keeps crashing the scenes and then crashed altogether. When he does not play, it is very bad as the audio works well, but the scenes are jumping around!

Anyone have any ideas as to whats wrong here? Is - fixable? I only bought the laptop 2 months ago so enough that annoyed that something has gone wrong already!

    Hello

This happens when you restart your laptop?
This happens if you watch movies (original DVD movies) DVD only or if you look at another video file?

Is this behavior for some certain movie or this problem occurs with all DVD movies?

You know, it's not easy to say something concrete about it. It is important to see how it works and exactly what is happening. Try to do some tests with different audio/video media and display the results.

    Hello Joe

I saw in some your previous assignments that you use external DVD drive too.

I use my Tecra with Replicator port and a multi LG external DL disk attached to the port replicator (due to the fast data transfer firewire connection). Everything works fine and I wonder how you can have all of these problems.

If your device is set up correctly, including all the original drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba download page should not have any problem. I hope that you have installed the unit without port replicator and you don t forget Mobile extension tool. As much as I know there is no driver for Replicator port and all the signals are loop just to the ports of the replicaror port.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

They keyboard might not be the problem, or it may not be connected properly to the motherboard the best thing to do is to take it to a service center, it should not cost you anything, if it is still under warranty... but if it's just the keyboard and your laptop is out of warranty then it should cost more than 100-200... can't say how much exactly, because I have no idea.

  • Cannot install programs that have been loaded on external hard disk as says none found CD/DVD

Original title: load the program from the hard drive (HD)

I loaded all my programs of their CD/DVD on an external hard drive, I just copied the CD and everything is happy.  On some programs, it does not allow the installation of the HD and says: no disc found.  Can I redirect the programs to install from my external hard drive on my computers HD?

This is based entirely on install of the how these programs were written.  In some cases they install from other than a DVD or CD, in others they do not.  Only those who have implemented these programs can respond.  If you have tried, and they do not work, you have two choices.  You can get the drive and install, or you can try to convince the company that puts it out of their programs to change.  Good luck with this last alternative.  :-)

  • Maybe missing DVD driver

Hello! I have had my all-in-one Pavilion for almost a year now and discovered pretty quickly that it does not play the DVD or Blu - ray discs, despite saying that he should. I am able to play the music of dics with no problems, however. I don't think it's a big deal then, but now it's starting to upset me and I'd like to find a solution before the expiry of my big computers.

A quick search on google shows me this a fairly common problem, but none of the corrections suggested do anthing for me.

When I insert a DVD, it runs constantly and it seems he stops every 15 seconds before resuming. The disks never appear in my computer as a playable file and trying to force a media player to play the results by mistake. What I get behaves like a folder. I show a folder named VIDEO_TS full of unrecognized file types and a file named desktop.ini

I don't know what to do, this is the reading of the disc but used to play movies. Missing something?

If it's showing a VIDEO_TS, so it is read, at least partially, a DVD.  It could be the playback software is missing or damaged, or the disc is dirty or has failed.  To try the VLC Player for free.  If you really want to check the drive to be able to read a DVD, try Imgburn.  If you can get some info of the DVD with either people, report with the results.

No, it is not malware. This is as designed Toshiba utility. When you listen to music CDs, you can switch to silent mode, and the DVD player runs very quiet.

    > What could arise?
It is not easy to explain. This utility usually starts with Windows.

No. I am sure that you can live without this utility.

Yes you can. Either remove you it from the startup folder system or check or even entered in the System Configuration utility, under the Startup tab (start run MSCONFIG).

    Response

    Hello

    1. are you able to read any type of file .doc or .txt of DVD?

After following all the steps (including the update of the MP9 for Media Player [MP] 11) below

I can get the drive to DISPLAY all the data from the DVD (Master & Commander 'movie)

on-screen MP11.  He plays (automatically) the intro (ONLY) from the DVD music (as when you put it in a DVD player, forward to press PLAY) MP11 shows all of the content and all the files on the DVD and SEEMS ready to play, but pressing on PLAY don't either not anything.

2 , what exactly happens when you try to burn the CD? You get the error message?

    Not nothing... He's here

    3. How do you try to burn CDs?

MediaPlayer, selection of a track list, made a list of titles, and then click BURN... nothing happens

4 have you tried to play the DVD content in ? windows media player

I had not before, but now I have.  Previously it was default to my SELECTION WIN DVD4 as the DVD player (I think I've EVER SEEN the WINDVD format/start page on the front screen - it wasn't the default front DVD player either but don't remember what program PLAYS the DVD, he ' comes of ").  Now, go back and see 1. above for MP11 more details.

Try to update the drivers of CD-RW/DVD drive and check. Also update the graphics driver.

    I did the entire bottom.

    1. click on Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.

2 click on the hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

3 right-click on the CD-RW/DVD drive, and then select set to update driver.

He asks if I have an OEM driver and / disk... NO.. I run the program through...

"Hardware update Wiz can not find a better match the software installed"

    4. right click on the graphics card and select Update driver. »

There is no "graphics card" on the material.  This machine has integrated graphics using a part of the main memory (or other) to run the video section:

All this seem normal but above I see YELLOW TWO warnings under 'OTHER DEVICES '.

"Question: media in the CD-RW/DVD drive is not readable" CLICKED top DIFFICULTY... and after computer "worked" on this subject awhile, he says STATUS: fixed.  St ill did not.   MP9 introduced the format of the DVD player but don't seem to read anything other then showing a list:

    UNKNOWN

    Title 1

    Title2

Title 3 etc., but could not do anything with this list.

He appeared a box asking if I wanted to update my MP9... sure why not so I shut everything down and uninstalled 9 and installed Media player 11.

Go BACK to # 1. now once again.  This is where I am.  MP11 shows all DVD data, the chart "the Album/DVD cover, all"titles"on the DVD, AND play the track audio 'intro' DVD but will not actually READ the DVD. "

So far it's PROGRESS.  We are at a point where it SEEMS at least that we are ready to PLAY and MP can SEE all the info on the DVD.

I see many people on other sites of the same question: Player does not work after FORMAT operating system and reinstall of WIN (and in my case: WinXP SP3 and WIN DVD4 of OEM disc)

Thanks a lot for your help so far... I hope that we can get to the next step and get the reader of CD-RW/DVD on 'PLAY '.
