None of the cells have a vCenter running proxy service

Came across this question last night.  I have read several sources to see if I can pin point the cause, but no luck so far as communication between the cell and the PB has been affected.  I followed the instructions in KB 1035506 but no change.  I stop the cell through the order of service and then also tried with the cell management tool, no difference.  QRTZ tables get rid of all their entries, but once I start the cell once again, they seem to fill with the same recordset.

I'm about vCloud 5.1.2.1068441 and the use of MS - SQL 2012.  If anyone has any suggestions where to get then it would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

OK, just in case others run into this it seems that the KB (I mentioned in my first post) is incomplete dated 24/10/2013.  The correct sequence is, assuming you can afford the downtime:

1 turn off the cell VM or run the service vmware-vcd stop command on the cell.

2. THIS STEP IS NOT CURRENTLY INCLUDED IN THE KB.  Shut down your virtual machine, that's what I had to vcenter.  I guess that you can test just closing the service, I was not so inclined.

3. run the script to clean your QRTZ tables.

4. NOT INCLUDED (SUCH AS STEP 2).  Feed your vCenter VM backup, if you had closed the service you can try to run at this point.

5. turn on your cell phone or run the service vmware-vcd start command.

My translation of the explanation I got from people in support was that both vcenter and the cell needed to stay out of the db while cleaning and the KB was missing the piece vcenter vcloud.  I was told the KB would soon change, but at the same time, this might help.

  • !!! Help! The cells have extra background space

    My site has a header. This header is an array formed by 1 line and 2 cells. One of the cells has a single image, but the other has a nested with two other cells, table, each, a single image.

    In any case, it is what is looking like my head:

    I set the background color of the top cell of the table nested in yellow and the lower blue cell background color (as you can see in the picture).
    NOTE: These colors are only to better understand the problem.

    As you can see, the images have extra space (bottom) 3 pixels. I tried everything to remove it (playing with the attributes of height), but still did not understand what it could be...

    Anyone know what could be the problem?

    EDIT: This only happens with Firefox. With Dreamweaver and IExplorer, the extra space (below), does not appear.

  • Several empty windows opening on startup. None of the articles have this problem.

    Whenever I have start FF4 approx. 25 empty windows open up... no tabs, windows. All the solutions I found do not fix this problem... someone has any ideas there is no URL, names or any other associated with these windows.

    It may be a problem with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the profile folder

    Delete sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the profile folder

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: opens showing the file

    If you see files sessionstore-# .js with a number in the left part of the name as sessionstore - 1.js then delete those as well.

    You will have to redo the App Tabs and tab groups after delete sessionstore.js.

    Everything depends on the game, most of the games have options to run in a window.  Once you've done this open a second instance of the program - assuming that it allows a second run and reduce the options for resolution as well they also well adapted to the screen, or move to a second monitor.     Have vCloud 5.5 (latest), vcenter & esxi 5.5u1 in a small 2 host environment.

    Just noticed that no one can perform operations that affect the vCenter. Restarted the lot beautifully. No change.

    Looked at the topic vSphere resources vCenters and have checked status green, but with the words "error performing operation". When I open it it there was an error "Could not find the cell performing this listening port."

    Which lead me to the cloud (2) cells that have no check mark vCenter error "No cells have an ongoing vCenter to run proxy service". Perform a reconnect has not fixed this State.

    I remember that 'back in the day' lol, you jumped in the SQL database and discarded around the qrtz_tables. Such as found in this link.

  • Deploy the model w/o vCenter...

    Greetings...  I have a Windows Server 2008 virtual machine that has been cloned in a model via a feature in vCenter.   I need to deploy this model in our development environment consisting of a host 5.1 ESXi and vSphere client running against her.  We have not vCenter running in our dev environment...   Question: How can I deploy this model w/o vCenter being present?   Is it as simple as a converter any running on the VMDK file, then create a new virtual machine from scratch & pointing to the "existing virtual disk"?   The only thing here, is that in the data store, I have two files VMDK: filename.vmdk and filename_1.vmdk thanks!

    Yes, that sounds good.

    This othe rfilename_1.vmdk should be a second disk on this virtual machine.  So when this template has been created, it looks like someone added a second drive to the virtual computer.  so a C:\drive which would be the filename.vmdk and player E:\Data or something that would be the filename_1.vmdk

    Also because you can not run the configuration wizard that is part of a deployment of the model you will be have sys prep the Windows VM after that it starts to get a convincing identity, otherwise, you will encounter duplicate Active Directory SIDS

    Anyone know if it is possible to access the parameters of functioning within a Proxy Service?

    Use instead of logging case, we realize audit by inserting into a database. In some circles, we want to turn this option off. I would like to reuse the fair to decide or not to audit logging logs.

    If the flow of messages would have if (auditLevel = "Warning") then BusinessService legend for the audit.

    Doing it this way allows operations choose whether or not an audit, rather than make changes to the code in different environments to choose or not to audit.

    A few months back I was also working on a similar requirement where the customer would not have to go to the configuration for OSB change (and even update) to change the log level or beginning of audit. After searching for a bit, we have implemented the legend of java to read a property file and provide the value of the flag during the conduct of the audit. We have also created a java utility that allows to clear the cache of the server (because the server load & updates cache the file after each reboot). So whenever we need to make a change in the check indicator, we just change the value in the properties file and clear the cache of the server. This makes the new copy of the file of properties available in the cache server and java OSB legend takes up the same.

    It was quite complex, but the only one best solution we could find. Please let us know if you get something better.

    Firewall are open / Tunnel is open throughout the environment.
