NOR-DAQmx controls absent the vesion 2012

In my old version of Labview 8.6, I NEITHER-DAQmx controls, however, at the latest 2012 Labview I have, I do not have them.  Do I need to re - install so that they appear in the 2012 version?

Yes.  Device drivers must be installed after the development environment to install support for the drivers.

  • Integration of material NI_DAQ and NOR-DAQmx software on the same system PCI-DIO-96

    Hello

We have a great system that is developed in VB and uses the traditional inherited NOR-DAQ system. The system controls the controller PCI-DIO-96. We would like to upgrade to some parts of the system to NOR-DAQmx and use VB.Net and we know that you can install both systems together on the same computer.

    We have a few questions:

    (1) once the legacy of NOR-traditional DAQ OR DAQmx software can be integrated in the same system. Some parts of the system will always use the VB and the other parties will use VB.Net.

    (2) if the answer to the first question is Yes. Are there hardware or software limitations? Is there a recommended way to integration?

    (3) are there articles based on the knowledge about it?

    Thanks Jeremiah

There are a number of limitations to the use of NOR-DAQmx and NOR-DAQ traditional at the same time.  First of all, only one of the drivers can access the device at a time.  To switch between the drivers, I recommend that you read this knowledge base Article: that I can use OR-DAQ traditional (old) and NOR-DAQmx simultaneously?  You will need to use the equivalent functions of VB .NET to switch between the pilots.

In addition, the system should use Windows XP or an earlier version.

  • NOR-DAQmx compatibility with the system in real time

I try to use a time system 11 with LabVIEW Real-time. When I try to connect with the driver OR DAQmx, an error saying that the version of the NOR-DAQmx drivers are bundles with the one on the real time. I tried to use different versions of the NOR-DAQmx drivers that are available in the table of compatibility, but not those who worked. I have an old computer working with the same real-time system that uses LabVIEW 9 and has the driver NOR-DAQmx 9.3.5 f0 driver installed on it but I can't find the drivers on the web. What should I do?

I am using LabVIEW 2015 in my current computer.

    Thanks in advance.

Looks like you can just have a lag in the versions of software installed on your host computer and the target.  In order to deploy the code from your host to your target, the two must have corresponding to libraries of functions.  See this link for instructions on updated versions of the software on your target match those installed on your host computer, the wizard of the LabVIEW RT software.  If you have already done this, and it did not help, please provide a screenshot or error code of the message that is to appear.

The dirver NOR appear to be installed (Device Manager). The light on the acquisition of data is flashing which is supposed to indicate that it works. Suggesttions?

    Hello Syncrec,

Please use the forums of NOR.  What USB DAQ device you use and which driver you have?  "You can find the driver in opening measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and looking under my system" software.  In addition, you said your device appears in the Device Manager, but what makes it say when you right click on your device and select Properties (looking for a message that says that the device is functioning properly)?  Finally, you use the Windows 7 starter edition or the full blown?

  • NOR-DAQmx 50103 error 'the specified resource is reserved.

Suddenly, I get this error when I try to run my program. I looked at the page for orientation:

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/485201B647950BF886257537006CEB89

I followed the steps for the case 1 (traditional DAQ driver reset), but I still get the error. Other cases concern problems with the program itself, and this cannot be my cause because my program was working fine when I left him before the holidays! Does anyone know if there is anything else without not my program that could be cause of this error?

    Thank you!

    Christina

Glance, I see nothing in your program. I guess that other programs can run.

However, I would certainly create and delete tasks only once. At the beginning and at the end - it could theoretically help. I also suggest you to split your large loop for in 2 loops.

BTW, a task that throw you the error?

  • Runtime error example NOR-DAQmx ANSI C in the Windows 7 virtual machine

I am under a guest Windows 7 system with a host of Ubuntu 14, using VirtualBox and have encountered a problem running even the simplest examples provided by National Instruments, using the ANSI C API for NOR-DAQmx.

The first time that the DAQ hardware is turned on, I can run a single measure, and after that, any other indicator displays the following error message:

Attempted to read samples that are no longer available.
The requested sample was previously available, but has since been overwritten.
Increasing the buffer size, reading the data more frequently, or specifying
a fixed number of samples to read instead of reading all available samples
    might correct the problem.

    Property: DAQmx_Read_RelativeTo
    Corresponding Value: DAQmx_Val_CurrReadPos
    Property: DAQmx_Read_Offset
    Corresponding Value: 0

    Task Name: _unamedTask(0)
    Status Code: -200279

In order to start a new measurement, I have to restart the DAQ hardware, probably in order to clear the internal buffers that are in the process of substitution.

I am interested in a measure of continuous tension in basic by using a callback function. (The example of ContAcq_IntClk provided by OR)

The exactly the same setup, same version of NOR-DAQmx (9.7.5) and running on Visual Studio 2012 smoothly on a computer that is running Windows 7 directly.

I suspect that the problem is with the internal buffer being somehow messed up because of the connection with the Virtual Machine, but do not find an elegant solution to fix it.

The camera I use is NI USB-6289.

    Hello fromm8

Thank you very much for your help, I managed to locate the problem.

He was not the actual code, or something like that, it was a problem of communication between the VirtualBox machine and the physical device.

Kept launches MAX test panels a comparable as error the program C.

I fixed the problem by opting for VMWare, which seems to have the best compatibility with USB devices.

  • Data acquisition tool NOR-DAQmx with Matlab R2012a

    Hello

I'm trying to control NI USB-6211 of Matlab 2012 using NOR-DAQmx Data Acquisition tool:

I'm working on win7 64 bit. And I see the device AND Measurement & Automation Explorer.

The tool does not work: DAQ_Demo_Browser do nothing. And I got the error "unexpected or unbalanced parenthesis or support" of AcqNUpdates_nonUI.m

    What is the problem?

    Thank you and best regards,

    Hi Arthur,.

Tools OR DAQmx for Acquisition of data with the Software Inc. MATLAB® from The Mathworks, supports up to the 2008 version of the MATLAB® software.  In order to use our products DAQ Multifunction with MATLAB® software, you could get back to 2008 or earlier, or instead use the Data Acquisition Toolbox provided by The Mathworks, Inc.

Another option would be to import your ".m" files in a node MathScript in LabVIEW and use the functions of NOR-DAQmx everything in the LabVIEW development environment.  For more information on the Module LabVIEW MathScript, you can consult the information available on this link:

  • NOR-DAQmx tools lack

    Hi all

I installed the latest versions of NOR-DAQmx and NOR-DAQmx base software. I would use the tools NOR-DAQmx (like on the video tutorial: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5370) but I can not find the software (screenshot attached) tools. Anyone know what's the problem?

    Thank you!

    Hello Joonasmikkola,

You should be able to have the DAQmx Base and DAQmx installed on the same PC (I have both in my other computer).

Could you open measurement and Automation Explorer, expand the software tab, check if you see list of NOR-DAQmx?

If it is not, I'll try to repair OR DAQmx of Windows Control Panel > add/remove program > National Instruments > NOR-DAQmx and do a repair on the pilot.

I couldn't find any hint to the appropriate command of DAQmx in the "NOR-DAQmx C reference Help" to select other destinations for counter/timer signals in NOR-DAQmx.
Please can you tell me the DAQmx command right? Thank you very much.
I use the NI USB-6259 M material Series DAQ, BNC end unit.

    datafriend,

If I remember correctly, you can "free" the output terminal of default counter by calling DAQmxSetCOPulseTerm and passing an empty string in the 'data '.

    Hope that helps,

    Dan

Edit: You can also set this to any other valid terminal (IE... "Dev1/PFI0") and to send the output to.

  • Question about the Acquisition continues through NOR-DAQmx

I'm a bit new to NIDAQmx methodology and I was wondering if someone could could give me some advice on accelerating certain measures of tension that I do with a case of DAQ NI USB-6363.

I have a python script that controls and takes measurements with a few pieces of equipment of laboratory by GPIB and also takes measurements in the area of DAQ OR DAQmx via (I use a library wrapper called pylibdaqmx that interfaces with the libraries C native).  As I do with the data acquisition unit is 32 k samples at 2 MHz with a differential pair to AI0.  An example of code that performs this operation is:

    from nidaqmx import AnalogInputTask

    # set up task & input channeltask = AnalogInputTask()
    task.create_voltage_channel(phys_channel='Dev1/ai0', terminal='diff', min_val=0., max_val=5.)
    task.configure_timing_sample_clock(rate=2e6, sample_mode='finite',
          samples_per_channel=32000)

    for i in range(number_of_loops):  < ... set up/adjust instruments ... >  task.start()  # returns an array of 32k float64 samples  # (same as DAQmxReadAnalogF64 in the C API)  data = task.read(32000)  task.stop()  < ... process data ... >

    # clear task, release resourcestask.clear()del task< ... etc ... >

The code works fine and I can all the 32 k spot samples, but if I want to repeat this step several times in a loop, I start and stop the job every time, which takes some time and is really slow down my overall measure.

I thought that maybe there is a way to speed up by configuring the task for continuous sample mode and just read from the channel when I want the data, but when I configure the sample for the continuous mode clock and you issue the command of reading, NOR-DAQmx gives me an error saying that the samples are no longer available , and I need to slow the rate of acquisition or increase the size of the buffer.  (I'm guessing the API wants to shoot the first 32 k samples in the buffer zone, but they have already been replaced at the time wherever I can playback control).

What I wonder is: How can I configure the task to make the box DAQ acquire samples continuously, but give me only the last 32 samples buffer on demand k?  Looks like I'm missing something basic here, maybe some kind of trigger that I need to put in place before reading?  It doesn't seem like it should be hard to do, but as I said, I'm kinda a newbie to this.

I understand the implementation of python that I use is not something that is supported by NEITHER, but if someone could give me some examples of how to perform a measure like this in LabView or C (or any other ideas you have to accelerate such action), I can test in these environments and to implement on my own with python.

    Thanks in advance!

    Toki

This is something I do a bit, but I can only describe how I would do it in LabVIEW - I'm no help on the details of the C function prototypes or the python wrapper.

In LabVIEW, there are accessed via the 'DAQmx Read property node' properties that help to implement.  One is the Mode "crush" which I'm sure must be set before performing the operation.  The other pair is known as "RelativeTo" and "Offset" and they allow you to specify what part of the CQI data buffer to read data from.   If you the config to "RelativeTo" = 'most recent sample' and 'Offset' =-32000, then whenever you read 32000 samples, they are the very latest 32000 which are already available in the buffer of data acq.  Between the readings, the task is free to overwrite the old data indefinitely.

Note that you will need to do this continuous sampling mode and that you can explicitly set a buffer size smaller than the default which will choose DAQmx based on your fast sampling rate.

  • What is the latest version of the NOR-DAQmx driver? 9.7.0 vs 9.6.2

    Hi all... I'm puzzled. I found the version of NOR-DAQmx 9.7.0 released February 25, 2013 and NOR-DAQmx version 9.6.2 released March 4, 2013.

Read the "readme" files does not lighten.

What is going on? Two teams who does not speak with them?

DAQmx 9.7 is always the latest version with the most recent device and the support of the API. The 'Release Date' refers to the post to date of web and it can not match the schema version.

We'll push DAQmx 9.6.2 Update Service with the DVD of LabVIEW Driver 2012 SP1. DAQmx 9.7 will be available only for download web or included as a DVD with the hardware which requires for the purposes of support.

  • Firmware of switching of NOR-DAQmx Base on Linux to the USB-6221

Our Windows machines are locked - even as developers, we without administrator privileges.  Which is updated from the impossible firmware via the Windows Device Manager.  On the other hand, we have total control on our Linux machines.

Is it possible to download and check out the images of the firmware on Linux?  In particular, I need to move a USB-6221 to NOR-DAQmx Base.  I couldn't find all the instructions to do this on Linux.

    wlbaker

I had a moment of complete Dyslexics your first post - powered external USB DAQ playback devices (USB-622 x, USB-625 x USB-628 x) are not supported under Linux (by DAQmx 8.0.1 or DAQmx Base 3.3), while DAQ USB (USB-621 x) bus-powered devices are supported by only DAQmx Base. The Readme files for the two drivers list the devices on which they based [1] [2].

The USB-6212 case is the closest to the USB-6221 match, although if you don't have extenstive digital i/o in your application, the USB-6211 housing would also be a good fit.

  • Why the basis of NOR-DAQmx for LabVIEW options are grayed out using a custom installation (with Action: Skip)?

I try to install NOR-DAQmx Base 3.7.0 LabVIEW 2013 (LV is installed). When I try to install Standard, it does not settle for LabVIEW (only the tools common and C and USB), but gives a successful installation message.

  • more info on the DAQmx control task

Today I came across an older post where I had some questions and Jeff· just Þ· Bohrer showed a good example, it's here:

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW/AES-single-element-queues-data-value-references/m-p/2978093/HIGHLIGH...

I doesn't pay attention to the DAQmx task manages the part, but now some new questions of time came to my mind, I hope someone can give me some explanations...

Usually, when I'm working with some hardware with DAQmx driver, I simply specify the channel, and I use the VI of virtual channel create for my work I want to use.

Recently I read about benefits use MAX to previously create some global (?) of the tasks (for example a cDAQ with many modules and i/o channels) and using these tasks in a LabVIEW project. In this case I can just skip the 'Create Virtual Channel.vi', begins with the measurement with a "Start Task" DAQmx and stopping a VI 'stop the task', correct? However in the link above, the VI "Task of control" (next), first used with a parameter "commit" and during the closing of the measure, with a setting of "Cancel" (and no task to stop vi was used).

I threw an eye using the Task.vi 'control', but the info it is not too detailed, where I can find a few more details, or maybe someone might highlight the use and benefits of this vi? Sounds a bit 'funny' aid, as for the parameter commit: "Programs the hardware as much as possible depending on the configuration of the task."

So what is the difference between the use of the "task of control" in a code and do not use it (so when we use only the start and the stop task live)? Do we not the same behavior with the latter?

    Thanks in advance!

    Martins wrote:

The overall task configured max subject: we conduct research, so I always just develop for our lab, we do not sell anything. However, I have some questions related to a task configured and saved to the MAX:

    • So I have a task created at MAX, I guess that this task will be usable only if I use it in a project of LV on the same PC? What if I need to move my application to another PC (but of course with the same modules cDAQ, etc., but perhaps under different numbers...)

The task can also be used with a .exe. You can export MAX settings to a file (file, export...) .nce, and then import the settings to a new PC. If necessary you can tweek the numbers.

    • I would like to create an EXE from my code and don't run this EXE to our systems (not install). Y at - he tips that I should keep in mind when I create an executable from a project that contains a task of MAX?

I can't think of something special. Personally, I prefer to load the name of the task from a configuration file, you can also use a control on the front panel to select the task.

I have a feeling, when we need complete flexibility, the course of MAX isn't really practical, Yes? I want to say, if we want to for example programmatically recognize all our application materials and create tasks to ensure that all physical changes on the side of the PC in the future will not affect our code?

I agree that you have as much flexibility, but for my applications most of the time MAX provides sufficient flexibility

But this scenario could be documented for future users in the lab, I imagine, so what they have to do, is to recreate the overall task? What happens when we take the application as an exe on another PC and manually re-create the (I hope that quite the same) necessary global task with the same name that awaits the EXE? It works this way?

Thanks for the very useful info!

Edit: "Yes you can set a MAX task that includes several modules and channels so that they all have the same type of action."

This is also a limitation compared to the creation of code depending on task, Yes? I mean, using the DAQmx 'Create Virtual Channel.vi', we can even combine for example analog inputs with for example in a cDAQ thermocouple hunts...

No it is not a limitation, for thermocouple is entered analog. If you can combine them in LabVIEW, you can combine them in MAX.

Edit2: I really miss other docs of type "real demonstration" of the NEITHER! I could imagine a sort of case study examples where different material handling OR would be explained... Of course we can hunt together pieces of mosaic, but a more compact image could help a lot for those who want to learn faster
