Not available change icon button
I have a program that includes two parts, two shortcuts, but the same icon for each.
SnagIt and SnagIt Editor.
On my pc windows 8.1 I could change the icon icon I did just by right clicking on the icon, choose Properties, shortcut, and then click Change icon.
On my pc win 7, change icon is not available.
I tried as admin, but that did not work.
Is there a reason why this would be?
Every other icon on the desktop, pointing to a program has available change icon?
No idea why this might be the case? In any case of change by using only not the properties box?
Graham
Figured it out. For some reason any shortcut, if it worked by opening the program, was not a good shortcut.
By removing these, replacing them with new shortcuts from the windows > programs folder etc, I managed to get the job of change icon button and change the icon :) -
0% available battery - not charging
Greetings-
I have a HP Pavilion dv 6500. I'm having a similar battery problem which has been discussed in other posts. The original battery "died" a couple of months, and I bought a new HP.
Now the icon in the system tray indicates "0% available (sector, no charging current). I installed the HP Support Assistant and ran the battery Test, the result is: status: 'Calibrate' and current status: 'unknown '.
Problem is that part of the procedure to "Calibrate" is to allow the battery to charge (from 99 to 100% of load), but I am unable to accomplish this because the battery is not - the charge remains at 0% and never seems to recharge.
Am I missing something? Any suggestions for the Forum will be appreciated!

Satellite click 10 - keyboard battery is not available
Hi, just bought a LX5W 10 click and the State of the battery for the keyboard says "This battery is not available for use" the keyboard works fine. I've updated the bios and 1.7, responsible for 24 hours and the windows update 10 nothing helps. Any ideas please?
I had the same problem. I got back from my first machine to the supplier as defective, but the other had the same problem.
Finally, I spoke with a person that is extremely useful to the Toshiba Customer Support who spent half an hour to diagnose things with me, went to ask my colleagues and even out the drawings of the unit to check.
The result is that the latest versions of click 10 have only a battery in the screen. There is no battery 2 where the error message. So even if the screen says, and the manual says, there is no second battery and the screen is more powerful than before and has the same life expectancy as the two front batteries.
He admitted that it was the lack of communication from Tosh. Charge up to 100%, then after disconnecting, you should see up to 14 hours of availability.

Question
I have "upgraded" to FF5 and now have no refresh or stop icons in the menu bar, are not available in the menu "personalize." How to make a comeback?I'm happy to have helped.
It was something that many users asked when he changed first, and I initially did not know myself that the order of the buttons would make a difference as to if a button or a pair of buttons would be displayed.

NB550D - battery icon does not always reflect the right balance of time
I recently bought a NB550D and I must say that, first of all, I am very happy with it. It tends to be a bit slow, but I can live with that.
However, my problem is that the battery icon may not always reflect the right balance of time. After a full charge, it can present 9 remaining hours but after a stop and restart it will be may show 75% and the remaining 3 hours. If I stop and restart it can show 75% and remaining 6 hours
When I started the unit I enabled him to discharge completely (by means of) three times, as suggested by the seller in the store, but quite frankly it seems not a fall of difference!
Any advice will be appreciated.

Hello
Like Tom, battery depands of working time on the use of the laptop.
Battery time can always change. In addition, I would recommend calibrating the battery to ensure best performance.
You must charge the battery until the led would turn to green (blue) and should unload completely the battery until the cell stops automatically.
This process must be repeated several times. -
EliteBook 6930p: battery Elitebook 6930 2 not available
Hello
I recently had a 6930p Elitebook which was once used as a computer professional, and I photographed it with a copy of Windows 7, I confess, and then upgraded to Windows 10. I noticed that when I click on the battery down to the left, it is said there are two batteries. Battery 1 seems to work fine, but 2 battery says it is not available for use. Is there something I can do to make the second battery work? I would like to improve the battery 1 battery lasts approximately 2 hours. Thank you.
That would be a trip or the 2nd battery battery.

Is this normal? because I used to see other laptops try icon moves while it recharges like a mobile phone
help would be very appreciated
Hello
That s nothing unusual in my case it of the same.
If you unplug the power adapter, you will see just a battery icon.
If you connect the adapter once more, the battery icon would be changed to the icon of the battery with a small power supply. Now, this icon is moving for a few seconds and then it seems stable.
Only the battery indicator flashes orange during charging. -

Original title: battery icon says not connected charginr
Hi nancypalmiter,
1 - is your laptop battery charge when turned off?
2 did you do changes on the computer before the show?
Sometimes, the problem may be with the laptop. The battery isn't bad, but it could be a loose connection or hardware problem with laptop. It will be the right idea to get the material under test if the battery of the laptop is not getting loaded even if the laptop is turned off.
You can also try the BIOS update and check if it helps. You can get in touch with the system manufacturer for assistance for the update of the BIOS.
Warning: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

The battery icon on Windows 7 laptop not displaying
Hello, I use a Sony Vaio with Windows 7 laptop. It worked fine until a few weeks ago when I installed a Windows Update. Since then, the battery in the taskbar icon has disappeared, and it alerts me when the power is low. The internet connection icon also shows permanently the 'No connection' icon, even if the internet works fine. I tried the steps here: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/01/01/fix-network-clock-volume-and-power-battery-system-icons-missing-with-disabled-or-grayed-out-check-box-options/ and here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7performance/thread/b8ee8d72-4a59-433f-be04-70fd39e1ef88 but nothing works. When I go to the properties of the status bar, the option to activate the battery icon or off is grayed out. Here's what it looks like: http://img842.imageshack.us/i/batteryr.png/ the tray looks like this: http://img600.imageshack.us/i/tray.png/ any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
