Not fully restored USMT - Windows 7 - user rights

After the restoration of the USMT LoadStateprocess, it happens that user rights are not restored on each folder and files.

Indeed, in the properties-online Security Panel, the list is completely empty even the system group is missing.

This issue occurs at random on random photos (independent of the file extension).

We tried to manually reset rights on the folder above to let Windows automatically applies the user rights to the folders and files under.

Even so, some folders and files are not defined.

The only solution we found is reset the file-by-file rights.

Our company is about 1000 restoration with the LoadState each month, and the problem seems to appear randomly.

We are essentially Windows XP migration to Windows 7.

We have the same problem with USMT 4.0 and 5.0.

The ScanState and LoadState the are made with an administrator account.

Does anyone have this kind of problem?

Is there something that I can configure to try to solve the problem?

Thank you.

  • Does she not get the restored properly - Windows Vista Edition family

I did a backup on 2 of vdv - that, once accomplished was reported as successful. Now, I have restored my laptop to factory settings since she was infected. When I use the Center backup and restore and Advanced Restore option - files from a backup made on a different computer - then the hard drive. He starts the backup asking if some files or all - I choose all files in the backup. It then proceeds...

I got the c# edition installed with which came the SQl-whiel restore the backup of the ih said there is problem with the authorization of users for SQL 2 related records - I click on go come without affecting the rights of the user. In this case 2 times.

In the meanwhiel, it shows a lot of files being restored in the progress bar. Then he gives erroe that the label of the disc in the drive is not 1 user-Pc-DateofBackup-disk name where as the disk name is the default name assigned when the backup is performed, which is the name of user-Pc-DateofBackup (may not be the suffix of disc 1).

Then I choose the option ignore this and drive 2-, it gives the same error...

When I check - I find a lot of files is restored, but they contain no data/files.

    Help, please.

Here is an article on the restore procedure: http://www.vista4beginners.com/How-to-restore-files to make sure you do this right.  It's a selective restore of a full or selective backup (not a full restore from a full backup) - but since you did a full backup, it matches your processes more closely than would a full restore (which is not available in Vista Home anyway).

This is a GREAT article on the backup and restore processes in Vista http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.backup.aspx , but he won't go into detail about the restoration process - considering almost as easy, of course.  But it teaches you a lot about what is possible and how to do it.

Here is an article on the advanced use of restoration (during normal restore does not work): http://www.mayankraichura.com/post/2009/08/06/Avdvanced-Restore-via-Windows-Vista-Backup-and-Restore-Center.aspx.

I also found the following (but don't know if it of true or not):

    1. after the start of "backup and Restore Center."

    2. I chose "Advanced Restore"

    3. I was did not an administrator password... maybe because my account is an administrator account.

4 choose "files from a backup made on a different computer.

    5. in the dialog box indicating "Select the location of the backup to restore", select "hard drive, CD or DVD...". »

    6. under the drop-down list box, select your drive/partition and continue

    7. If all the backups on your drive, it will show a list of them.

    8. in my case, he showed a backup, but in the backup location, it will show "backup location is not available."

    9. I was frustrated, but then I somehow just select this backup (Yes... even if he said that the backup location is not available " ")

    10. and you press "next".

    11 guess what... no error!

    12. a window appeared asking me if I wanted to do a full restore, or I want to select specific folders or files.

    13. I selected the folders I wanted to restore and bingo... it their restored smoothly.

    14. so that the next time see a mistake, try to continue with him... ;)

I don't know if this will help, but it does not provide much information about the process (when it works).  I hope you find any error or discrepancy in your procedure and it will clear up and allow you to restore.

    I hope this helps.

  • "Stop 0x000000A5 the BIOS of the system is not fully ACPI-compatible every time as the installation of a new windows 7 integral over Inspiron 15R N5110.

    Hello

I have installed Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on many brands of laptops, but when I installed it on Inspiron 15R N5110, (core i5 and 4GBRAM). I faced an error at startup of windows 7 after completing the installation.
NOTE: When the installation finished and restarted my computer, this window shown to me.

Two options from the two options above I chose, I found myself with the blue screen:

Error blue screen said something these ' BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI-compatible. Contact your system provider for an updated BIOS I don't know what that means and I don't know where is the culprit. I wish I could capture this error screen. However, it is impossible to do because I wasn't the Windows environment.

Even if the error related to BIOS necessary for the update, so how could I update as long as windows has not begun.

Is there something that needs to be configured in the BIOS before installing Windows 7 on Dell laptops.
I'm quite surprised that the previous system was windows 7, but it was Home Premium.

The strangest thing is when I tried to start to repair the disk and even disk instillation of Windows to resolve startup problems, I found that this startup repair couldn't fix problems.

When I tried to do these steps:

    1. Insert your Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer from the CD.

Note Some computers may require you change basic input/output system (BIOS) settings before you can start the computer from a CD-ROM. For more information about changing the BIOS, see your computer documentation.
    2. When the "Welcome" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
    3. If your computer is configured to dual-boot or multiple boot, select the appropriate installation of Windows XP.
    4. When you are prompted to do so, type the administrator password and press ENTER.
Note By default, the administrator password is blank in Windows XP Home Edition.
    5. By default, Hiberfil.sys is usually located in the directory root (C:\). At the command prompt, type del hiberfil.sys and then press ENTER.
    6. Restart the computer.
When I arrived at "system recovery options, I saw that my system is listed, then I chose then, but I found myself with this ' this"system recovery options"version is not compatible with the version of windows that you are trying to fix." Try to use a different compatible with this version of windows recovery disk, even if I'm sure only that the same disk to install windows I have installed since.

NOTE: I do not add RAM or other devices. There is a windows 7 Home premium and I just re installed a windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. I don't really know what the previous windows version 7 is 32 or 64 bit.
I checked the dell forum and I found ' your computer goto your BIOS F2

That goto advance Select ATA to instead of AHCPI save the setting, and then try to restart your Windows 7

    hope it will work. »

But he did not AHCPI, but I found AHCI and let ATA instead of AHCI, but no difference that happened.

Warning: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

    Thank you very much

I checked this thread, and I found this solves the problem

I have changed the serial port in the BIOS for 2F8/IRQ3 and I have not had a blue screen since... fingers crossed, it's her!

But as you know that no matter what BIOS are different from others.

Thus, I have not found any serial port in the BIOS to be replaced by 2F8/IRQ3

NOTE: My problem is when you install a new version of Windows.

In addition, every time a new windows installation 7 and facing the Blue error screen, I started to Macrium Rescue CD and clicked "fix windows startup", and then when restart my windows, I was not facing the the Blue error screen. If windows starts successfully.

If the blue screen error was tied to the BIOS, the Refelct Macrium rescue CD wouldn't no matter what (not know this problem)

  • Dell Windows 7 recovery/restore factory - Windows problem requires the user ID and password after recovery full? Why?

I have a desktop Dell Inspiron 580 with Windows 7 Home Premium. I did a full system recovery using the recovery partition on the hard drive first where it erases all data and gives back to the factory condition. After the restoration, when Windows starts for the first time, he returned to the normal login screen requiring a user ID and password.  Why is this? I can't continue because there is no user ID and password when you wait for all the data to be wiped and starting a restore factory complete.

I realized a second time with the same results.

I realized a third time using the Dell recovery disk set, done using the Dell program on the computer before the restore operation. I watched the program perform a partition formatting, so all data should be erased. I got the same results by asking an existing user ID and password.

Now, I did complete factory restore a fourth time by using the recovery discs. I always get the same results.

When Windows 7 starts for the first time, every time, I expect windows to ask me to create a new user and password.  Instead, Windows starts to askling normal login for an existing user ID and password screen. What is the cause of this problem? I see many people with this problem in the forums. I have not found a real solution.

    Thanks for any help. :-)

  • Windows 8.1 Flash Pro - Pro: selection of the Menu panes and the window doesn't make it not fully, or are misaligned. Same thing with the scene

This bug makes the program almost unusable for anyone using Windows 8.1.  I have a Setup dual monitor: 1920 x 1200 and 1920 x 1080, on the other hand, AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series drivers (latest versions), running on an OS Pro Windows 8.1.  When you try to view the various aspects of menu option, windows does not realized fully, or you are hidden.  Also the scene so moves to the lower right, making the program almost unusable. I tested it on a Mac, as well as on a windows machine 7 and it does not work here.  So it seems to be that in a machine Windows Pro 8.1.   I've attached screenshots of what I see.  Notice to the first image, we look on the new component document. You don't see the options fully and that they are shifted to the right out of sight.  The following image shows both the scene shifted to the right, as well as the document pane.  The options are not fully visible and trimmed off the coast.  The window itself is not resizable.  I erased the appdata and re-installed the program. Same result.  I tried to solve this via the cat, but your guarded network connection is lost. Please let me know if someone suffers from this and any resolution. Thank you!

    Question
I can't get the tabs of the previous session of the return when I reopen it Firefox. I tried closing with 'Close' header of Firefox window, but also 'Quit' in the file Menu. Note that "Restoration of previous Session" on my Menu history is grayed out so I can't use it. • using the Menu bar: click on view > toolbars > Menu bar
    • Hold DOWN the ALT key while pressing the VTM keyboard letters
  • Program windows not fully displayed - cannot see the buttons

    Problem:

    1. After selecting the program HP PC Recovery CD/DVD Creator, the Welcome window appears but is not displayed entirely.  The portions and right at the bottom of the window are transparent.  I don't see other buttons that I should be able to select.  I also try to use the program end button (red box with white x) located on the top right of the window, and the program will not end.  To close the program, I have to finish the process via the Windows Task Manager.

    2. when the HP automatic update alert window returns to the part at the bottom right of my office, letting me know that updates are available and to ask if I would like to install the updates, the alert window is not completely visible.  I don't see other buttons that I should be able to select.

    3. in both cases (1 and 2), if I place my pointer over the window and select Enter then the program will proceed to the next step.  If a pedagogical (pop-up) window on the top of the main window of the program, I am able to see this pop-up window in its entirety, and then select options as needed.

Question: What is the cause?  How can they be corrected?

Thanks in advance for any input.  Please see information system below.
