Not possible to eject and not appear in my computer DVD player

I got a Dell Precision 390 with Windows 7 Professional that is upgraded to Windows XP (I guessed that I bought from someone else, and said of the tag on the Windows XP computer) with a DVD re - write. I went to install the programs I had on my old computer to this Dell one. A program is Daemon Tool Lite which create a virtual drive for image editing (for more information, go to this link http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/products/dtLite ). During installation, I see that it created a virtual drive that Windows recognizes. After that, I went to install the following programs. This one is a CD, so I push the eject button on the DVD drive of the computer. But nothing happens, so I check in my computer and see no drive DVD except the drive on which to create the Daemon Tool Lite. I click on eject this disk, and nothing is happening as I hope. I uninstall the program, and then turn off the computer. When turns on again, part said start-up, that the computer can not find the DVD drive, unlike any other time I turn on the computer. After login, I saw that in my computer, except my two hard drives (disk Local C: and D :) had nothing else. Look back on the drive on the computer, the light on the subject was green without flashing or anything to indicate it was working. I am not all discs in the player before that happened, so he wasn't being stuck. I tried to push the emergency eject button and download the Microsoft Fix It ( http://support.microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us?wa=wsignin1.0 ), but they do not solve the problem. And I'm not good to open the computer and fix the items inside. Thanks for any help.

Hi again,

Even with the computer turned on? Hmmm.

It sounds like the power or the drive failed (possibly).

If you're not confident you can take the computer to someone who can fix it for you.

If you have a friend who is confident at that time ask
Him / her if you do not want to disassemble yourself.

  • Why some DVDs will not play in my computer DVD player?

I have a small collection of commercial DVD movies.  Most of them come from the place of the U.S. market, and some come from Asia... He play ALL these DVD in my Phillips DVD player that is connected to my TV.

But only some of these DVD will play in my DVD player which is in my computer Dell Inspiron 531 with Windows 7 Ultimate edition.  This computer has a DVD/CD SAMSUNG HD161HJ SCSI disk drive.

Some of the DVDs that will play on my computer are the American market, and some of them are of the Asian market, so I don't think that this has nothing to do with why some of these DVDs will not play on my computer.

DVDs that play fine in my Phillips DVD on my TV player that will not play on my computer don't yet seem to close at play on my computer.  The DVD that will play on my computer liquidation (you can hear the noise) in the DVD player in 20 seconds and they start playing automatically in Windows Media Player... but I welcomed all others who won't have to sit in the DVD player for several minutes each in my tests and nothing happens... There is no wind sound and all nothing is happening on the computer screen.

This doesn't seem to be a problem with the driver software for the disk hard because some of the DVDs will play.

None of these DVDs are buckled and all of them are clean.

I tried two or three times test each of DVDs that won't play, the removed from drive and put them back in.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hi Dale,

Although I never had no problem with the DVD or the CD I burned on PC, I think you're going to probably the same thing, that I've been with this internal DVD/CD player, is not a software problem, but just the characteristics of a lower quality DVD/CD player, and it isn't necessarily the symptoms of a dying man in car , but just a stock car low quality that some computer manufacturers cut corners with.
The drive in the computer that I was referring in this thread is a DVD/CD SAMSUNG HD161HJ SCSI disk drive. Which may or may not be identical or similar to the reader, you have problems with, but the computer on which the reader is underway is a Dell Inspiron 531.
Through the information that I've gathered on this thread and on another forum, I came to the conclusion that it's just a cheap player who gives intermittent performance recognizing various DVD, but as I said, the drive I troubleshooting always recognize DVDs and CDs that I burned in it... It was just the DVD movie that I have problems with.
I dug my loyal reader DVD LaCie and plugged and I had no problems with him acknowledging and play ONE of my DVDs on this machine, which proves that the problem has nothing to do with the software system or DVD player software, as in the case suggested by someone else on this thread.
Just buy yourself a Firewire drive or USB-2 DVD decent and you're probably fine.

  • I have Win7 64 bit ultimate and from time to time when I start PC my card reader drives do not appear in my computer.

I have Win7 64 bit ultimate and from time to time when I start PC my card reader drives do not appear in my computer. Device Manager indicates that they are working correctly. Sometimes my dvd drives disappear. I have to do a system restore to solve this problem. For some reason any Win7 has problems with storage devices. How to stop these dissappearing from my Computer(or not getting a drive letter assigned) storage devices?  It's very frustrating. And, System Restore is not a way to solve this problem, it's just a quick fix. I have three internal hard disks, three hard drives, card reader external drives, USB keys, disks, etc. I need a way to solve this problem when it happens. So far, happened about 9 times in the last six weeks since I installed Win7 64 bit ATU.

There may be an update of the motherboard BIOS to solve the problem.

Otherwise, as your card readers are no doubt attached via USB the usual way to solve this problem would be to uninstall the drives and the USB controllers and devices in the system restore.

    Hello

Maybe stupid thing, but try it please follow: disconnect your laptop computer, adapter sector and battery and leave about 60 minutes. After only 60 minutes connect AC adapter / CC, start your laptop and try to use the USB.

Please let me know what happens after that.

  • Toshiba Canvio Basics HARD drive does not appear in my computer

    Hello

I have a HDTB110AK3BA - Toshiba 1 TB Canvio Plus Portable Hard Drive for storage 3.0 Basics and the computer will allow it to connect, but it does not appear in my computer / pc is in Device Manager thought but not my pc

Please help and Windows 7 or windows 8.1 PC do the same thing.

    Hello

I found the description of the product of this external HARD disk:

    Product features:
    • USB 3.0 - powered portable add-on storage.
    • Voltage of bus capable USB, no need for AC adapter.
    • Easy to use with no software to install.
    • Adapts to large digital files with spacious storage capacity.
    • Protect your drive (internal shock sensor and ramp loading technology).

    Specifications
    • Capacity: 1.0 TB
    • Interface: USB 3.0
    • Transfer rate: up to 5 Gb/s
    • Speed: 5 400 rpm
    • Average access time: 12ms
    • Cache buffer: 8 MB

It is a HARD USB 3.0 drive. No doubt the HARD drive is not recognized correctly in windows exploerer due to the low power.
The USB 2.0 port common feeds only 500mA. The USB 3.0 device must be able to 900mA.
Therefore, it would be advisable to connect this 2 ports USB 2.0 HARD drive with a USB Y cable
