NSLU2 Orange fixed: dead?

The NSLU2 that has served me for two years, now fails and displays a light amber green solid and ethernet, and I don't see on the network. I can only turn off by pulling power, and he returned to the reliable amber State at startup.

Is there anything I can do to bring it back?

I'm cautiously optimistic. I used Sercomm Update Utility of re-camera flash and it works normally for 3 days. Maybe the firmware corrupted itself (?). I flashed the same version (last official Linksys) who was on him when he failed.

Healed, at least for now.

Thank you!

  • RE6500 remains light Orange

I used my RE6500 Range Extender for more than a year.  Recently, I upgraded my router for the Linksys EA9200.  Then, I updated the firmware in the RE6500 and set up to work with my new router.  Everything seems to be fine.  I have the range extender work and he uses a different SSID (_Ext).  All devices seem to work well.

My question is once my RE6500 put in place properly, it stopped blinking white light to the front and stay a solid Orange color.  None of the information I can find describe the appliance staying on with a solid Orange light.  What does that mean?  Do I have a problem I do not know?  It could have something that has changed the last firmware update?

It seems that he must have problems with this light color, but everything seems fine.  Thoughts from anyone?

I've just updated to firmware 1.04 on my new RE6500. I did a little experiment. It seems that when the light is Orange fixed, this means that the extension is not in the destination 'sweet spot '. If you use the Spot Finder in the utility based on a browser for the Extender, you will see that, when the light is white Uni, the range extender is in the "sweet spot". When Orange fixed, the Spot Finder shows the Extender is outside of the 'sweet spot' (either too far or too close).

  • Inspiron 660 - solid Amber Light, No POST, does not start

    Hello world

Having badly put in that my Inspiron 660 road.  When I press the button, it turns Orange fixed and there is no display.    I need to change a few items on the computer?

    Full article:

Earlier, before I clicked on the sleep button on my keyboard and left my computer for awhile.  When I came back, the computer showed a black screen, but he was still awake.  I left alone for a while, but I couldn't get the screen to show so I held the power button.

I then took over, hoping everything was ok, but then it restarted several times by himself.  Then he showed a blue screen with a frowny face indicating 'inaccessible boot device '.  I decided to try safe mode.  After scanning of the hard drive, it eventually start in safe mode.  After a few moments, I stopped it safely.

After that, I thought I should try a regular boot.  When I hit the power button, it remained white, but there is no display.  After leaving it alone for a bit, I tried to turn off by holding the power button.  But it does not work.  The only option I had was to pull the plug.  After reconnecting, there now solid amber light, no display, no post.

Hoping someone has a solution I have at least back on my computer.

  • Wifi configuration with Airport Extreme (A1143), iMac (El Capitan) running. Need of a direction.

I recently moved to a City University and living in a housing facility run by the University. It's got broadband by Comcast for free with the room. I plugged all the necessary equipment (modem and cable) to the iMac and the internet works well for a week now.

Now I want Wifi for the apartment. I decided to dust off my old 1st or 2nd Gen extreme base station Airport. I read that it can still work with El Capitan, so I went and tried to install it. First of all, I updated the firmware and connected the appropriate cables. Everything seemed to go in the direction of the work, but I hit a bump on the road. Wifi works for the iMac. I unplugged the ethernet cable and it's receiving internet, but I tried to get my iPad Wifi and smart phone and it doesn't seem to work. I used the good passwords etc. Nothing.

I found it odd that I get Wifi to my iMac, although the Airport Extreme light is orange. Normally, it should be green. Of course, I don't use this thing in forever and actually don't think it would work, but so far the iMac becomes Wifi, but aren't the other devices and auburn is turned on. So here's a screenshot of what I see in the Airport utility.

Can anyone help or point me to the right direction? Also it has to do with the campus of the internet, I'm getting?

The attached picture shows it's getting to the internet via wifi (not plugged into the modem) but he doesn't seem to get wifi on my other devices in the apartment. The Airport base station we connected directly to the Modem. I also followed the steps of my iMac had originally planned to make it work and it did, but only for the iMac. I expect the unit to green thereafter but he did not. What gives?

The A1143 was introduced in January 2007 and arrested in March 2009, so the model you have is at least 7 years and older, and as much as 9 + depending on when the product has been implemented.

The average lifetime of a router designed for home use is about 5 years, so we're not sure how much time and effort you want to invest in AirPort Extreme you have there.

Frankly, it is remarkable that the product works for the iMac, because status messages indicate that you have an Internet connection.  We cannot explain this one.

We also don't know if amber on the most convenient airport is flashing, or remains Orange fixed. Can clarify you on this, please?

If you want to try to start over again and set up the AirPort Extreme, the first bit of information that we need is the number of brand and model of your modem.  We don't need a serial number, only the manufacturer name and number for the modem to the model.

We will try to help, but who can give no assurance that we will be able to get things working for you.

  • Airport Extreme in brick after update firmware 7.7.7

Error while trying to update the Airport Extreme (model A1521) firmware to version 7.7.7.  After clicking on "Refresh" for the EPA in the utility AirPort app on my MBP, it seemed like it was downloading and then restart, but then the "error during firmware update" message popped up.

Then he disappeared from the AirPort Utility app. check the physical EPA, he got a quick Orange flashing light on.

Perform a reset by mode on "soft" apple support  No change in status in the AirPort or LED utility.

Perform a "hard" reset No change.

Perform a reset "factory".  Solid green LED for 1 second, off for 1 second, then fixed Orange LED for 5 to 10 seconds, then orange flashing LED forever.

Removed all connections to the EPAS, repeated above steps with identical results.

Tried to plug the cable to all ports, a both MBP, then in a port to a different router.  No connection.

Base from the bottom of the EPA to inspect the connection with the ohmmeter removed rubber physical reset button. Button contacts are open when not depressed, short circuit when pressed.

EPA appears at all in the AirPort Utility (not in "Other WiFi devices" or the other).

Pushing the reset button on the EPA has no effect, no matter how much time or when it is pushed.

Once the power cord is removed and inserted, the indications are always the same, no matter what I do with the reset button. Green LED for 1 second, off for 1 second, Orange fixed for 5 to 10 seconds, then orange blinking forever.

Interaction ONLY with the device, which had until this point was working perfectly for years, has been through the AirPort Utility software.  Physical interaction occurred after that the update of the firmware he bricked.  Simply, I do not understand how a botched firmware update might brick the MONKEY.  The default firmware must always be able to be loaded with the reset sequence.

    Help, please.

You should not open it... Apple may have been told by replacing.

Firmware updates are always dangerous... the airport less then most of the routers.

However very rarely something can go wrong and the firmware written correctly to the ROM. This will leave the router in a State of broken forever. You need to replace unfortunately.

He got a quick Orange flashing light on.

Restore mode flashing quickly means that it is in...

Perform a reset "factory".  Solid green LED for 1 second, off for 1 second, then fixed Orange LED for 5 to 10 seconds, then orange flashing LED forever.

It flashes quickly or slowly forever?

The ethernet light when you plug the ethernet cable?

As far as I know, there is no firmware emergency repair method at airports... Apple has every confidence their sequence of upgrade to work, even when the firmware is delivered more wireless... always a big risk CF ethernet.

  • the Airport extreme, giving a slow wifi connection

    Hello

I've got my download speed of 200 Mbps cable company. I checked a good signal by plugging directly in he back of the Modem (to remove the photo Airport extreme wifi.) ... I have 221Mbps actually...

However, once I'm going to plug in the Airport Extreme and text my speed on wifi, I get only between 24 Mbps or max after several trials of 54 Mbps on download... I should get just under 200 Mbit/s because of the normal fall through wifi... However, not to the extreme I loss I get...

Tuesday Apple Support has helped me to perform a reboot of the router and I have been good to get 198Mbps... It is here 2 days later and I'm back down to 24 Mbps...

I tried to redo the reboot: unplug the unit, hold down the reset button, then while holding down the reset button, add power on and continue now stuck until it flashes yellow... But curiously, after it flashes it goes straight to the green... (never asking me to airport utility to add a password)

    My Wifi speed stink...

What continues with this device... anyone have recommendations?

I already proved the cable line and the modem (with the support of motorola)...

    Thank you

Most likely you have a faulty AirPort Extreme. Please ask Apple to replace this unit for you.

If you wish to renew a reset, follow the instructions very carefully:

    Turning off AirPort Extreme

    Wait 7 - 8 seconds

Hold the first reset button... and hold in an additional 7 to 8 seconds while simultaneously you reconnect the power on the AirPort Extreme.

Release the reset button to zero after the period of detention

Allow a minute for the AirPort Extreme restart. The light will be Orange fixed for 15-20 seconds about, then turn to flashing orange slowly after about 30 seconds

A slow amber flashing light... about once per second... confirms that the airport has been reset and you can set it up again.

  • Satellite L500 habit upward on AC power

    * Hello, I hope someone can help here.*

The laptop was bought in May last year and for several weeks, it has not been used when I plugged in and turned on there is no power. When on charge, I get a green (in DC) and Orange fixed (drums) and when I press the power button the power light flashes green - once, but very briefly.

If I remove the battery the laptop will not power not on either and only when using a fully charged battery will be the power of the laptop up. The battery icon shows it is charging only briefly when I plug. I even tried another Charger AC/DC, even if mine is good (tested) and also tested with another battery, nothing works.

To summarize, I have a good charger/battery (both tested) yet no charge battery or when not removed any power upward on AC adapter only. The socket is damaged during the inspection and not loose. Any suggestion would be useful to diagnose this problem and if anyone has the same problem please post ideas. Toshiba would cover repairs out of warranty on it, if it is a known fault?

    * Thanks in advance for any advice! *

    * Jacques *.

Indeed, this looks like something bad on the motherboard, it may be related to electronic food which is placed on the problems of power of the Council may be related to memory modules defective RAM too so maybe you should check the RAM first remove one module and try to turn on the device by using a module in different locations

    Hi Andstino,

If it is, I would like to ask you some questions about what I want to make sure that we get at the bottom of the problem for you. Some questions will be asked to remove components of the system, so please make sure that you disconnect the power cord to the back of the system before making these.

    (1) turn on the system. Can you tell me if the power button flashes orange or orange fixed? Could you also tell me if you notice any diagnostic LED remains lit - these are labelled 1,2,3 and 4 and are nearly taken before headset

    (2) Please remove all devices to the back of the system and turn on the system. This affects the power LED or Diagnostics LED button

    (3) have you added components to the system of cards for example video, his etc...

    (4) Please, open the system and remove the following:

    (a) cables for power and data from hard drives and optical drives
    (b) PCI/PCI-Express expansion card
    (c) the memory of the system
    (d) the system fan

    (5) with the above removed, reconnect the power cord to the back of the system and turn on the system. Please take note of what happens with the power LED button and the diagnostic lights

    (6) if there is no change in the LED or Diagnostics LED power button, remove the power cord from the back of the system and remove the following:

    (a) Panel of e/s cable
    (b) CMOS battery

    (7) with the i/o panel cable and the CMOS battery removed, please connect the power cord to the back of the system. The system should automatically try to turn it on. You hear the beeps of the system? If so, can you tell us exactly what you mean?

If you need help with the removal of these components, please see the manual here: http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/op380/en/index.htm

  • Replaced the motherboard on XPS 8500, now no visible display?

A week ago, my XPS 8500 just stopped turning. The power button is Orange fixed, which is a problem I've met about 3 months ago. At this point, I ran across a lot of troubleshooting here, replaced the original motherboard, PSU and HDD. I finally got the system running and upward and he ran for 3 months until light solid amber shown once again at the top.

I assumed it was the motherboard once again, and I have fortunately my 90th day of a warranty of 90 days, so was a replacement motherboard sent to me. I just installed the new motherboard, the amber light has disappeared, I have a white power lights up once more, then I guess it's good news, but I get nothing on my screen.

I have read some other posts and contracted / reset CMOS battery and also reinstalled everything on the Board with no luck. I was hoping someone could suggest other ideas?

    Thank you!

  • Dell XPS 8500 switched HDs, no boot, the stable yellow power light

I was constantly making messages on my hard drive (T SATA 1) default so I bit the bullet and went and bought a new drive (2 T SATA). I left the original disc in its original configuration and installed my new drive as a secondary drive. I used Macrium reflex to try to clone the old drive to the new. I kept getting "failed to clone - broken pipe" message after about 93 percent of cloning. So I thought I would try to start using the new disc and dial-up connectors to entire hard drive after power off the power. After trying to reverse, all I get is a constant power of light yellow. The fans, the optical drive, etc are all performed, but nothing else happens. I turned off and turned back on the connection to the original installation. Same thing: only a yellow light. I know that a steady yellow light usually means some sort of failure of a component, but I believe that food is OK that everything in the case is running. Any help?

Have you tried to erase the BIOS?

    1. Power off, unplug
    2. Power button press / hold for about 15 seconds
    3. Open the case and remove the motherboard battery
    4. Power button press / hold for about 30 seconds
    5. Connect your drive HARD bootable SATA0 port on the motherboard
    6. Replace the battery and close the case. NOTE: may be time to install the new CR2032 battery, ~ $2
    7. See if it boots now

Fixed Orange LED motherboard is not identical to a touch of solid amber power at the edge of the tower. I assume that your motherboard the saw is turned on (it's a good thing) but the Start button / stop is Orange fixed.

Is there a way to rearrange the stack of the effects of movement so the movement is applied after the filters? It seems that the motion, opacity, etc. can not be reordered, one user has added effects. I could go the AE the timelapse project were made in fix dead pixels it, return on the timelpases, apply the look Lumetri file and publishers move again...
