NSX Manager & controller of NSX

vNiC NSX Manager and controller of NSX is attached to which Port groups.

They are VMkernel Port management groups or groups of virtual computer ports.

We might be confusing terminology - it's the VMkernel adapters created locally on each host (not the portgroup). Anyway let's move on as you suggest.

Yes, it is possible to use the same portgroup to the controller of the NSX or other VM vNIC according to the HOL management staff.

Hi, I'm wanting to enter the IP address of the ILO/Management Controller for a host ESX in a report, this information is available in vCenter, on the status tab of the army, under Baseboard Management Controller hardware.

I can't seem to find a way to retrieve this information using powercli.  Can anyone tell if this is possible and if so, how?   See you soon.

  • Host Baseboard Management controller status

    Hello

I get the following "host Baseboard Management controller status" on my 3 ESXi hosts. 2 are DL 380 G5 and 1 is DL380 G6.

I get the warning if using ESXi 4.1 or ESXi 4.0, and also whether I use the HP or the standard ISO VMware.

    Someone know why?

    Conrad

The ILO to complain.  Usually, you get the warning because you have not configured the ILO with an IP address.

You can get warning go away, either by:

    (1) configuration ILO with wiring and a valid IP address.

    OR

    2) enter the ILO BIOS on startup and the deactivation of the ILO on this server.

  • Satellite L30 - 10Y: Win XP - yellow? near bus in Device Manager controller

    Hello

    a problem with the satellite L30 - 10Y PSL33.
In management of XP - other devices - system management bus controller device - it is to present a question mark with a small exclamation point.

Maybe reinstall a chipset drivers, but I have not found a right driver in toshiba's site.

You have an idea on this message and if is it all reinstall drive, what type and the parent link for download?
    Thanks in advance.

    Manuele

    Hello

Hmm I don't very well if this entry could be linked to a m Chipset driver.
But you can find the chipset driver yourself.
Install a tool of diagnosis of equipment as Everest Home Edition and control hardware components. Then, you would be able to download driver chipset chipset manufacturer page.

But in your case I recommend you delete this first device manager entry.
Mark this bus controller and press to remove or uninstall.
    Restart the unit.

Usually the Win XP should recognize and reinstall the device again

  • NSX data flow

I have a few questions about this diagram that I hope someone can answer.

When the controllers communicate with ESXi hosts is the vmk0 (Mgmt) interface or interface vmkX (VTEP) on the hosts?

Guess it is the vmk0 interface (Mgmt) and if this is the case is I ANY communication between the vmkX interface (VTEP) control plane on host computers and components of the NSX (Manager, controller, edge etc.)?

In addition it is VTEP only VTEP communication for the data plan?

The flow of communication is between the officers on the ESXi hypervisor to/from the controllers and the Manager via the management interface.

    This document details the agents:

    https://www.VMware.com/files/PDF/products/NSX/VMW-NSX-network-virtualization-design-guide.PDF

This KB details the ports requirements for NSX:

VTEPs communicate with the other VTEPs.  The concept of the plane of data includes more than just the VTEPs.  The design guide offers more detail on this topic as well.

Recently I reformat my win pc XP MC using the recovery CD, but I saw on the Device Manager CONTROLLER of BUS SM is to have yellow question mark.
How could I solve this problem?

Some time my pc froze (work stoppage) so I have to restart my pc.
Is it because of the sm bus controller? I try to click on update, but there is a message (the hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software)

An organization can guide me how to fix it?

    Thank you

  • RELOADED VISTA operating system CD - Mgr device has exclamation point in the SM Bus controller

Pavilion a6400f with VISTA 32-bit Edition home premium. System would not start after HP splash page and all the diagnosis seems to imply things were OK. Inserted the VISTA CD and entered the product code and reload the Windows partition. Existing files seemed even after reloading VISTA, had to download RTL81xx REA:LTEK driver from HP support and internet and all site seems to work fine - charged 102 patches Windows system, including the chipset g31/33.  Everything seems to work EXCEPT having an exclamation mark in the device to OTHER DEVICES Manager - CONTROLLER of BUS SM. Right click on properties says drivers are missing.  I guess I'm missing chipset but can't seem to find the one that.  Troubleshooting Guide of HP who took me to the page of INTEL for chipset, but do not want to download a chipset with the warning below he followed.  A ran dxdiag in Start menu and and involves the g33/g31 chipset but see the drivers installed. Appreciate any thoughts...

Interesting - no luck with this chip set no more BUT took the look to my file system on the hard drive and found that it still contained the windows.old directory of my reloading VISTA the other morning.  I thought I had done a full charge but does not have the format of the disc so appartently VISTA saved my old windows directory in windows.old.  In this folder is a file INF folder - I have seen nothing obvious in the folder, but on the installation of the SM BUS failed, one of the questions was point to a search folder.  I mentioned it in the windows.old.inf folder and the installation program found a software to install. Installer complained of not digitally signed data, but I said to continue and the SM Bus has been installed.  He removed the exclamation of OTHER DEVICES and placed SM BUS SYSTEM with Intel ICH9Family DEVICES with address of 2930. If I look at the properties of the SM BUS under details it shows the DRIVER VERSION 8.3.0.1008 with the date 2007-01-13, but under the driver Details button, it says no driver required.  I'm not sure what exactly it says but everything seems to work now, and I suppose to be sure I should save the file in case something like this happens again well probably just move to Windows 7.  Thank you very much for all your help and ideas - carried you me on my problem.

  • Net M4110x - Net management and iSCSI. Clarification of the configuration steps. The documentation is at best ambiguous.

    Hi guys,.

I'm having a lot of trouble to translate what I know PS6000 table to the new M4100x.  Here's what I'm building:

I want my iSCSI traffic that is completely isolated from all other traffic, and I want to use the CMC network to run the Board.  It must be a simple configuration, but Dell documentation for which is worse than useless.  It confuses and everyone who's read it confuses.  Why is this?

It seems that I should be able to assign the IP addresses of management using the MCC according to DELL:

    Step 1.  Initialize the storage

    * Once in the CMC right-click on storage open storage gui initialization.

    * Member name: MY_SAN01
    * Member, IP: 192.168.101.10
    * Member gateway: 192.168.101.254
    Group name: MY_SAN
    Group IP address: 192.168.101.11
    Group of Memebersip password: groupadmin
    * Password Admin group: groupadmin

It sounds simple enough, and when I apply this I guess I will be disconnected my M4110x simply because it currently resides on a separate network (net 2 in the image above).  Now how to set up the IP address of my CMC (net0 in the picture above) network management?

Step 2.  Set ip management port

According to the documentation of Dell, I have:

    To set the management port:

    * Open a telnet (ssh) session on a computer or console that has access to the PS-M4110 range. The array must be configured beforehand.

    * Connect the PS-M4110 modules using the following racadm command: racadm Server 15 connect

    * Connect to the PS-M4110 array as grpadmin

    Once I am in:

Activate the management controller ports using the following commands in the CLI:
    0 > member select MY_SAN01
    1. (array1) > eth select 1
    2. (array1 eth_1) > 10.10.10.17 ipaddress netmask 255.255.255.0
    3. (array1 eth_1) > upward
    4. (array1 eth_1) > exit
    5. (array1) > grpparams
    6. (array1 (grpparams)) > network management-ipaddress 10.10.10.17

    (array1 (grpparams)) > exit

My interpretation is correct?  Now my questions:

    1. in step 2. SubStep 1 - How can I know what ethernet interface to use?  Step 1 automatically assume eth0?

    2. am I correct in using the same IP address for both step 2 - substep 2 and substep 6?  Or do I have to assign a different IP address for these?  10.10.10.18 maybe.

    3. step 2 - substep 6, it doesn't seem to be that a network mask is that correct?

    4. comparison of the ps6000e - I set up an IP address for each controller (so 2) and then assigned an IP address for the group.  It's 3 IP addresses.  For this M4110, it seems that I have only one controller.  Is this correct?  The specifications make a point that there are 2 controllers.  What happened to the IP address of the controller of the 2nd?

    CLOSE-UPS

I intend on building a VMware cluster using the algorithm of multiple paths of DELL and I built it to the DSC, but a technician Dell put in place the table initially and have not set up a dedicated management port.  Required configuration routing traffic on the net iSCSI management.  It is not recommended, and I don't want to set up this way.

Currently, he is a blocking problemand I need to go beyond this ASAP.  I work with a large system integrator in Texas and plan on the order that these systems built this way on their part.  This means that I must be able to explain to them how to proceed.  This issue is standing in the way of progress, and I really hope I can get a satisfactory response from this forum.  Thanks for any helpful answers.

I think I have the answers to my own questions:

    1. YES.  Step 1 automatically assume eth0.  There are TWO Ethernet interfaces and eth1 is disabled by default, and unless you use step 2 to set the management port this second Ethernet interface is never used.

    2. No. I can't use the same IP address for both lines.  In lower level 6 I need to use a different IP address on the same network 10.10.10.18 would work fine.

    3. YES.  It is correct.  Lower level 6 assumes the network mask that I have included in the point 2.

    4. it's tricky.  There is NO WAY to configure Active/active on these tables.  There are 2 controllers, but one "still asleep," unless the other fails.  Actually, the IP address is assigned to an Abstraction Layer, it maintains.  When fails another controller "awakens" and just starting to accept traffic and it doesn't care what its IP address.

Another point.  Now that my table is initialized and my interfaces are configured, I need to know what IP address to point my ESXi hosts for their storage.  Use the IP address of the group assigned in step 1.  It is 192.168.101.11 (there is typo in the original post).

  • Meeting place for 11 missing (7130) SM Bus Controller drivers Windows 10

Hello. How can you acquire drivers Bus SM Windows 10 controller for the coming Pro Tablet 11 (7130). The drivers do not appear in the Windows 10 drivers (but there are for other versions of Windows). I get the message "the drivers are not installed for this device.

Thanks for any help you provide and my apologies if this topic has already been discussed.

I had a similar problem on the 7140. Try to download and unzip drivers 8.1 and point the Windows Device Manager home for a manual install. If Windows 10 likes what it sees, it installs it although Dell has not officially tested / to win 10 out yet. This solved some lack of driver for me problems, but not the SM Bus. To do this, I had to get a utility from Intel that has installed the right chipset for the management controller.

  • Question about Powerconnect M6220 and out-of-band/management 8024-K connection

I'm sorry if this question belongs to another section, but with regard to the functionality of these switches I thought I would start here.

My question is, the M6220 and 8024-K out-of-band connection are going through the connections on Board (for example port 18 for example) or through connection of the M1000e CMC?

The reason for this question. We recently vlaned our network and CMC modules are VLAN 8 (10.100.8.0 255.255.248.0) and management of our switches is supposed to be on the VLAN 1 (10.100.1.0 255.255.255.0). I can't ping on the affected IPS (IE 10.100.1.15), but our CMC modules are fully accessible (IE10.100.9.120). Our blades are fully accessible and can access all the VLANS on them (they are the ESX host).

Finally, I'm sorry if all necessary information has been provided, I'm not so much a networking guru.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks for your help

The OOB interface is connected to the chassis management controller by the median plane of the chassis. Traffic on this

port is separated from network traffic operating on the switch ports and cannot be lit or routed to the operational network.

  • Need drivers for the game controller, Microsoft sounds and videos

I did something crazy. While trying to remove any driver annoying inderteminant that prevented my midi interface to work, I deleted all the Microsoft Sound, video and drivers game in my device manager controller, thinking that I would like to get them back to a reboot. That's how it usually works, it is not. Boy was I fooled. Restore the system to an earlier date no longer works. I guess I have to somehow download the drivers and reinstall them if I understand where to buy and how to install them. Does anyone know how to get back them. And put them in. I have windows 7 with SP1 on a HP Pavilion model p6 - c 2037.

The 6 drivers that I deleted were as follows:

    1, Microsoft Streaming Clock Proxy,

2, Microsoft streaming quality Manager Proxy,

    3, Microsoft Streaming Service Proxy,

    4, Microsoft Streaming Tee/receiver-to-Sink Converter,

5, Microsoft Streaming Tee/receiver-to-Sink Converter, (no, this isn't a typo in that it listed twice)

6, Microsoft makes confidence Audio drivers.

Thank you so much for sharing the knowledge you have about it to fix my stupid mistake.
